I read somewhere in the Skull Candle thread that speaking to the skull (aka "target") through tobacco smoke is an effective way to get your message across. It was also mentioned that if you don't want to use tobacco for some reason that an "appropriate" incense could be used in it's place. I don't have anything particular against using tobacco, but was wondering if the Influence incense would be considered an "appropriate" substitute?

In an upcoming spell I will be using Influence Oil and Sachet Powder, and thought that using the coordinating incense might be a nice touch.

Has anybody else used the Influence incense this way?

I have not used Influence Incense with a skull candle myself, but this would be a good way to work, and since i do not like tobacco, i would choose it over tobacco, for sure.

I've used a White Skull Candle dressed in Influence Oil and spoke through Influence Incense Powder while working my spell.
It was VERY effective! I always speak my intentions into/through the smoke of the incense :)
Just my particular prefrence

I agree. Influence products and skull candles are a winning combination. I also love speaking my intentions to the flowing smoke of the incense. Very effective.

I couldn't agree with you more Joseph! In my catechism days of my youth we were taught that the incense the priest would use would help prayers go up to heaven. That always have stuck with me and enjoy speaking my prayers in the smoke as it rises. I do this even if I burned a petition to ash and mixed it in with the incsne before lighting it.

I fully agree, Papa Newt. I had heard a very similar thing in my youth and have been practicing it ever since. I love it. Very effective and deeply symbolic.

Also, over in the Influence SACHET POWDER thread, the idea of double-dressing a skull candle with Influence sachet powder is also mentioned. The URL is

Double dressing is effective, as well as fun to do. Makes the candles look nice and adds some oomph! :)

Hello,

I have a question about controlling/influencing incense. I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right forum or not.

Basically I'd like to do a controlling spell. If I can find a puple skull I'll do that if not, I'll go with white. Unfortunately, I don't have a personal concern of the person so I was thinking about using quassia bark and following the instructions on the lucky mojo page of folding the ashes into the person's name (I'd actually write their name on a picture with their bday) three times. From there, I was then thinking about taking those ashes, drilling a hole into the skull and putting the ashes inside the skull along with other controlling oils and herbs.

Do you all think this can work?

I'm so sorry my brain was clearly somewhere else. I labeled that wrong. I will have influencing incense going on during the spell. I think I was thinking about that while processing something else. I have to put this in a different category. I also have a question about how to talk to the candle, but I'm going to post that in the skull category. Thanks for answering my questions.
