I've been a long-time lurker, and finally registered today, because I'd like to participate more, as well as THANK YOU all for the lively discussions as well as magical assistance for those new to Hoodoo, or hungry for more knowledge
.I've been studying the occult for a little over four years now after a major life transformation, and have been drawn to Hoodoo for about three of those years, learning here and there. Recently, I've sort of decided it's time to piss or get off the pot and really begin growing in my magical practice, so I've been boning up more and more with Miss Cat's wonderful free resources, and am saving up now to take the Correspondence Course
.I'd love, love, LOVE to be a root worker and help myself, as well as those around me, and so far feel I have an aptitude for it, based on the spells I've done, and the results. It's a very exciting feeling to feel like you've found a home and a magic practice that just makes sense, deep down to your bones. I love the practicality of hoodoo as well as the folk aspect, because of how I grew up--namely Christian and poor--so the system really resonates with me, even if I am no longer part of the church.
