1. Yes you can do work towards a marriage proposal while pregnant. Read through this thread to see that we only advise against doing negative work (cursing, etc.) while pregnant.

Among folk magic workers all around the world, it is commonly recommended that although blessing and safe childbirth spells are fine, most women refrain from or avoid doing negative spell work while pregnant. You can get a helper to cast a negative spell for you. Reading this thread from the beginning may give you additional ideas.

An example of a positive and beneficial safe-childbirth spell that pregnant women use with confidence is the German folk-magical "True Length of Mary" spell which is found in my book, "Paper in My Shoe." It consists of a series of strips of prayer-papers (which you can photocopy from the book), cut apart, and glued together to make a single long strip. You are to position it on your body from head to foot when laying down to go into labour. A prayer is then said that you will deliver your child as easily as Mary delivered Jesus.

While I am not currently pregnant, I am working to prepare my body so that I can become pregnant as quickly as possible when I feel ready to try. I was wondering if all products in the love lines are safe while pregnant/trying to conceive and, if not, which should be avoided? Also the whether or not the rose cologne is safe?

I don't know of any love herbs that would prevent pregnancy if applied to the skin. Most condition oils have carrier oils added to help prevent skin irritation. However, if you are concerned about a specific product you would like to work with like Love Me oil, I would call the shop and ask directly.

Hello NaidaBelle,

If you are referring to skin safety, then this is unique to each individual regardless of pregnancy. Do a small skin patch test first to ensure you do not have contact allergies to the ingredients.

I presume you would not be ingesting something like a condition oil so you wouldn't be concerned about toxicity. You may be more sensitive to the smoke of incense while pregnant, but that is more about irritation vs. safety.

If in doubt about any of this, speak to your GP or OB/GYN and proceed accordingly. They can provide you with medical advice that we can't offer on the forum.

Hello

Does a name paper in the left shoe fall into the negative category?

I placed someone's name in my shoe when she started misbehaving towards me.
(Her name encircled with I dominate you, and she no longer gives me dirty looks, so it's been effective.)

I have since learned that I am pregnant.

Is this considered domination or controlling? Is it to be avoided while pregnant? If yes, what should I do (of course after removing it)?

Very interesting question and congratulations by the way! It is controlling and dominating however, I wouldn't consider it dark work. I would still do uncrossing work like bathing in hyssop weekly or a run of baths during the waning moon to take off any negativity from the dominating spell. If this is a lot (everything can seem like a lot of work when pregnant) then I would suggest doing protective work instead. Good day.

I have been gathering supplies to perform the erectile dysfunction/die penis work for the husband. I’m just waiting for the arrival of the black penis candle and 4 thieves vinegar.

I’ve written the ritual step-by-step. He continues to outsmart me in order to sleep with other women. I found out yesterday that I am pregnant. I feel as I can justify my reasons for doing this in front of God, if it ever came down to it.

I realize pregnant women should not be doing negative spells but I cannot stand to see his continuous promiscuity. It hurts and angers me deeply. I’ve forgiven him before for this thinking & hoping he would stop. I’m not cursing a person, rather his private area, in order to save the family. Now that I’m pregnant, I want my child to grow up with both of the parents in the house. I didn’t get to have that, so I only want what’s best for my unborn baby.

I appreciate any advice...

I read your post earlier and I thought of two ideas that may help. Are you familiar or open to working with saints? Saint Martha is known for making people and especially wandering men do as you will. Is is also known as Saint Martha the Dominator if that gives you any idea how she works. You would want to take the time to build up a relationship with her first and let her know your situation before asking for help.

If you start in the beginning, there is some history on how to work with her and then on page 4 and 5 they there give other details about working with her like offerings and petitions. A vigil candle to her with your petition would be a great way to work. You could also have the candle burned at the Missionary Independent Spiritual Church if you prefer.

If working with Saints isn't for you, I would simply light a white candle with a petition to God to help you set him straight and do right by you.

I have actually worked with Saint Martha before. The individual actually got dominated by someone else versus me. In fact, the person who dominated him kind of looked like the dark-haired version of Saint Martha. So, I’m not sure what happened there, I followed all of the instructions.

I also ordered a white candle, which was more for a meditation and head clearing purposes but I will petition God for protection and to lead me in the right direction.

What’s interesting is the timing of about-to-be-done negative spell and the pregnancy. We’ve been trying for a baby for the past 10 months and it happened right when I was about to perform the erectile dysfunction ritual.

I would still have a Rootworker perform it, if he/she agrees.

As a woman who lived with the cruelty of a cheating husband, and had to walk away from it, i feel for you.

However, your username -- Vendetta -- sounds like your main interest in folk magic is as a way to get even. It also indicates that you were under tremendous mental stress when you joined this forum.

As a practicing root doctor with a traditional bent, i would like to tell you that performing an erectile dysfunction spell on your husband while you are carrying your mutual child is an act of desperation that not many rootworkers will sign on to as collaborators. The way i was taught, it will "mark the baby" -- and you may end up with a child who cannot reproduce. I know that i would not take such a case while a woman was pregnant.

I believe that you are in need of support and comfort, and a calm place to pause and consider what this pregnancy means to you, given his cheating.

If birthng the child of a known cheater -- and rewarding him wihth offspring -- is your rational choice, then your next requirement is a physically and emotionally safe place to bring the pregnancy to term, with loving family members and friends to help you during the birth and afterward.

Please make those your priorities, and do not let vengeance set the tone of your pregnancy.

I realize that staying with him will just feed my hate. I believe I'll move back to my home state, prior to giving birth, to raise my child there. He will have to fly 3,000 miles to see the child.
Is it normal for my hate to grow daily? I couldn't help it today but soak his shirt in vinegar and throw it in the trash. I know it's wrong but why did it feel so good and so right?
I'll make sure to sage myself tonight...

I'm not Miss cat, but if I may, I can't speak to what's "normal," but I do think your rage is completely understandable. It feels good because feeding that kind of anger is stimulating and satisfying, even if it's not necessarily best for the baby. Your anger is justified, even if it's not particularly helpful to your pregnancy, if that makes sense.

I think the best thing you can do since you're moving away and getting a fresh start somewhere safe and loving, is look into a Cut and Clear, as well as cleansing baths, to get rid of all that built-up negativity.

The pregnancy hormones are definitely not helping my rage:) I feel so empowered, for some reason.

I truly wished and dreamed that my child grows up in a family with both parents present, instead of a single parent like I was.. I have forgiven him not once but multiple times. I really gave it my best. I'll get to be close to my mom again: the only person, who will never betray me and will love me unconditionally until the end of time. Darn, typing this just made me cry.. 8 more months of the emotional rollercoaster:)

Good morning.
The husband apparently got up in the middle of the night last night itching all over. He took a Benadryl and went back to bed. He has never done this before.
I find it strange after I had just poured vinegar on his shirt and threw it away earlier in the day.... Could this just be a coincidence?

Interesting! Vinegar is usually used to sour someone's life, so he could definitely be getting uncomfortable from the anger that you put into dunking and tossing his shirt.

Hi all, I am new here.

Currently pregnant and feel like I need to protect myself because a lot of bad stuff has been happening. The father of my child went missing in action, my mother not talking to me for months, feels like I have nobody left and I know there is a lot of jealous females in my life. I feel like I might be getting attacked.

I bought a spell/curse remover candle online but a friend of mine who is a meduim said I should not be using it now because I am pregnant. Is this true? and if so, why not? I just want protection and peace.

Welcome to the Lucky Mojo Forum. I have moved your post to the topic-thread in which it belongs. Please do not make "loose" posts. Always find and use an existing topic thread. You can then go back and READ THE THREAD FROM THE BEGINNING and see if your question has already been asked and answered. In this case it has been -- several times.

The only extra issue you bring before us is the question of an unknown candle purchased online from an unknown seller. I will address that, and i will also, for once and for all, give a long, definitive, and "quotable" reply to the underlying question of spell-casting during pregnancy.

1) THE TOXICITY OF CERTAIN HERBS WITH RESPECT TO PREGNANCY:

While we cannot comment on the candle you bought since it apparently was not made or prepared by our shop -- and this is the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. customer forum -- i will try to respond cogently:

We have no idea how the candle you bought was fixed with herbs or oils -- or, more importantly, with what it was prepared.

There are herbs that are contra-indicated for use in pregnancy, and even if burning them on a candle will not be medically toxic, it will certainly bring their spiritual essence into your pregnancy, which would be a spiritually dangerous idea.

Here's an example:

One of the most often used herbs for protection against spiritual attack is Black Snake Root, also known as Black Cohosh. It is crushed and crumbled and sprinkled on candles for this purpose by thousands of people every year. However, Black Snake Root is also an abortifacient. That means it was used in the old days to "protect" a woman from an unwanted pregnancy as a medical decoction to bring about the death of the fetus and a subsequent miscarriage.

So if a protection candle was dressed with such a herb, it may not bring about a matter of medical complication, but spiritually speaking, that would be a very unfortunate choice for you.

You need to know your supplier and read up on folk magic, not simply buy things online. If you are pregnant, call the company -- every reputable spiritual supplier will have a phone number, an email address, or a forum such as ours -- and ASK BEFORE YOU BUY. The companies will not give you their full formulas, of course, but they will be able to respect and honestly reply to the question, "Is there Black Snake Root in this product?"

So, basically, your friend urged caution, and i agree.

2) THE SPIRITUAL FOLKLORE OF PREGNANCY

For reasons of toxicity like the above -- and for ANOTHER reason -- it is widely believed and advocated in world-wide folklore and folk magic of many cultures, that pregnant women should not cast ANY spells. It is widely believed that their only and sole spiritual work should be to nurture the growing fetus and bring the baby safely into the world.

Unless you bought the candle from one of those fake spiritual stores that just sends you factory-made candles straight off a shelf, with no preparation, the prayers said over a candle when it is prepared for a client have meaning, and they attach to the candle. Some prayers of protection are mild, some are harsh. Some are for protection or cleansing only, and some also contain a counter-curse that will rebuke or damage the sender of an attack.

As a pregnant woman, i think you would not want a protection candle that included a counter-curse, especially one that involved the death of the people attacking you -- but unless you ask, or trust, the supplier, you have no clue as to what they pray (or don't pray) over their candles.

For example, we make a number of protective candles, such as Guardian Angel, Protection, Fiery Wall of Protection, Revering, Destruction, Damnation, and DUME (Death Unto My Enemies). We also make two candles that take off curses -- Uncrossing and Jinx-Killer. Each of these candles is different from the others.

For a pregnant woman, i personally would only recommend the Guardian Angel candle, which is protective, and also shows a pair of children being guarded by the angel.

Now, you may not know it (i assume you do not, or you would not have questioned us as to why your friend said what she did), but it is told in many cultures, that if a pregnant woman acts out of fear, anger, anxiety, or other negative emotion, it will "mark the baby." This "mark" can be physical (a birth-mark or deformity), mental (a child who is fearful, angry, or anxious), or spiritual (a child who has moral or ethical troubles).

This belief is so widespread that i was taught it by both of my grandmothers and my mother while i was still a child, and reminded of it while i was pregnant by my mother as well as a dozen of my friends. Over my decades as a reader, rootworker, and manufacturer in the spiritual supply business, i have heard the same belief stated by hundreds of my female clients and customers.

If you do not have a belief in folklore, then attending to this forum and discussing folk magic with us here would be useless to you, but it is a very deep-rooted belief that during a pregnancy, a time when you already have enough on your hands remaining calm, properly fed, well exercised, and emotionally unstressed, it is a great mistake to actively seek out a space of spiritual ambiguity, not to mention vulnerability, such as spell-casting against known enemies, even if only for protection and not for revenge.

Prayer to God, however, is encouraged. Among Catholics, prayers to Mother Mary (The Blessed Virgin Mother); to Jesus, Mary, and, Joseph (The Holy Family); to the Angels and Archangels; and to certain Saints, such as Saint Raymond Nonatus (who ensures an easy delivery) are prescribed and encouraged. In addition, there are two special Psalms recited by Jews as well as by Protestant, Orthodox, and Catholic Christians, and two special Surahs recited by Muslims for the safety of a pregnancy. So, whether you believe me and my family folklore or not, since you are here, let me function as a stand-in for your grandmother or great-grandmother: "Don't cast spells while you are pregnant, honey -- you'll mark the baby!"

Hire a rootworker or have your friend light the candle.

Hi again, I have moved back home, which is 3,000 miles away from my husband and now we’re going through a divorce. He has been slandering my name apparently accusing me of embezzlement, all while I’m pregnant with our child. I know it’s not recommended doing dark work while pregnant, but do court case supplies and spells considered to be light work? I’d really like to tie his tongue, so he doesn’t speak badly of me in the court house during our divorce hearing.. Or should I just stick to the brown candle and Psalm 35?

Tying someone's tongue is basically enemy work. Think about how you feel when you're doing that work--you'd be angry and cursing him for slandering you while demanding that he shut the hell up. That is not positive work that keeps you calm and loving, right? I think that's the best way to judge what's okay for you to work while pregnant--ask yourself "Is this loving? Does it make me feel calm, or does it upset me?"

Making a blessing mojo hand for the baby as described on page 30 of Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic under “Angelica”

The white candle magic spell for blessing a person (in this case, the baby) from the following page, maybe with the addition of rolling the candle in blessing sachet powder after dressing it with blessing oil, possibly after the baby is born and I can add some personal concerns:

I think perhaps I should hire this work out instead? Although other knowledgeable members have said in this thread that work blessing the baby is acceptable during pregnancy. So I want to clarify—is the work described above part of what Cat refers to when she says the “only and sole spiritual work should be to nurture the growing fetus and bring the baby safely into the world” during pregnancy, and therefore acceptable, or should even these spells be hired out/postponed?

Congratulations!

Blessing Oil -- if made of natural products and laced with toxic pthales -- should be fne for dressing a candle.

1 he toxicity issue is real. Avoid Pennyroyal, Black Cohosh, Blue Cohosh, Barberry, Angelica Root, juniper. and more. If you don't know about herbs, just back off. Do your research.

2. You did not mention "marking the baby," which is a traditional belief that what a mother craves and how she expresses her thoughts -- especially angry thought -- will give the child a mark -- a birthmark on the skin or a even deformity, if she does evil magic.

3. Making a talisman is neither toxic nor evil, and you could craft one yourself, but in most tribal and non-urban cultures, the making of talismans to protect pregnancy and childbirth is the work of professionals. It is up to you to decide how you feel about the culture of magic in addition to the practice of magic. The gift of a talisman is a powerful wishing of support. Don't deny yourself that.

I think I will personally stick to prayer for now (and continue to request prayers from the Crystal Silence League), order a blessing mojo hand from your shop, and ask for a blessing light to be set for me by the candle ministry.

Question about the safety of Angelica root during pregnancy:

I have heard that Angelica root can cause uterine contractions if taken internally during pregnancy, am I correct in assuming that this is why it is in the list of herbs to avoid above? But its spiritual energy is still safe for mojo hands, candle dressing, etc. during pregnancy if not taken internally?

I also have some herbalism notes about some of the herbs on that list that might be helpful for others here, with the caveat that I am no expert and you should consult a trained herbalist and/or doctor before making any decisions about taking herbs:

Tieraona Low Dog says blue cohosh (which is in the barberry family) is dangerous to use for pregnant women, especially late in pregnancy, but can be safe and very useful for menstrual pain (for instance) in non-pregnant women. She says it can also cause more postpartum bleeding. But it can be used right as labor is starting to induce uterine contractions. However, there have been cardiac abnormalities in the babies of women who took it in the six weeks leading up to their due date, consistent with effects we’ve seen in animal studies. So only take it if you’re not pregnant, or just as labor is starting if you need to help along a stalled or sluggish labor.

I am also familiar with pennyroyal as an abortifacient.

Other potential emmenagogues/abortifacients not mentioned that I am familiar with include mugwort and even ginger (especially in high doses).

Hi

Is doing the ammonia reversal jar or honey jar safe to do while pregnant.

My partner doesn't want the pregnancy and wants me to get rid of it. Says he can’t be with me because i am too spiritual. One moment he says he’s not scared of having a baby, next min he doesn’t want it.

Is it negative work if i do the jar to reverse his mind about having a baby and getting married? Will it affect the baby or pregnancy? Please advice.

Working with any chemical or material should be done with caution while you are pregnant. You may have an allergic reaction etc. I would use rubber gloves when doing the ammonia spell and wear a mask.

Honey jars are generally safe, remember to use caution with any herbs used in the jar and any oils on the candles.

Based on your situation, as described, I would get a reading by an AIRR member to determine what is going on with your man and what specific spells to do. You can also hire one of the members to do the work for you. Freezer Spell
Hello:
This question is for a pregnant friend: Is it safe for her to use a freezer spell against the "father?" Very long story and he will be in prison sometime in the fall, but he and his family continues to negatively impact her and her children despite police intervention. Any advice would be welcomed and appreciated immensely.

Hi, KyNYC.

First, i was taught early on, by members of my family and by dozens of root doctors, spiritual workers, and hoodoo shop keepers, that while pregnant, a woman should refrain from ANY SPELLS other than blessings and prayers to assist her and the baby. She should most especially not banish, bind, hinder, limit, destroy, harm, or kill ANYONE with magic while pregnant, lest it "mark the baby" (cause the baby to be born with some of what she was throwing around).

Your friend must do everything she can to keep this criminal and his family away from her and her children, of course, but since the freezer spell is a BINDING and LIMITING spell, she should not do it.

She may ask or hire someone to work on her behalf, of course.

I would recommend a Fiery Wall of Protection Spell in addition to the freexer spell -- the o;d "fire and ice" combination.

If you cannot do the work, i recommend Miss Michaele, the most dedicated and experienced JUSTICE worker in AIRR -- and a mother herself. Find her here:
