Bayberry Root Questions and Answers

Unread post by Dolmance » Tue Nov 10, 2009 9:06 am

Hi all,

Would the Bayberry sold at Lucky Mojo be pimenta racemosa, or Jamaican bayberry, that is also used to make bay rum (I'm still waiting for my Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic book to arrive, Bri ;-) ) or is it of the genus Myrica? Or something else altogether?

By the way, Ms Yronwode's book seems to be pretty hard to find in the UK. I've had to purchase it from the other side of the pond.

Thanks,
D.

Hello, I also found it hard to purchase Miss Cat's book (I live in London UK) but for all that it was worth every penny. I am just sorry there is not a franchise in the UK selling Lucky Mojo products.

I have to make do with what I can find here but it is very limited. I want to phone Miss Cat to see how I could do the correspondence course.

Regards Rainbird

Hi everybody,

Have a question about bayberry. This tree belongs to the myriacea family, but I remember once searching on the Internet for some info about this tree, and the related info that came through was tea tree. Is Bayberry related to tea tree?. I know very well the bayberry trea, it's very common in the Mediterreanean area; and as far as I know, its fruits and composition are different to tea tree (usually related to Australia).

Thanks.

Hello Alice Kyteler,

As far as I know, bayberry is not related to tea tree. Someone more knowledgeable than I am may weigh in here with more detail.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Hello Miss Athena,

It's been so long.

Have made my own research about bayberry, and here in my location we have a plant which is part of myriacea family, just like bayberry. The sites I researched about bayberry which compared it to tea tree oil were wrong.

Have taken a look to Lucky Mojo catalogue and I discovered that you sell Bayberry Root, also Bayberry leaves and even you have an oil and also bayberry bark chips. My question here is, if I want to perform a money ritual using bayberry, what part of the plant is it recommended?. Can I use the leaves, the bark, the oil or whatever because the effect is the same?.

Thanks so much for your answer.

Have a nice day.
Thank you Saint Jude, glorious Apostle, miracle performer, because you took me back to Jesus.

Hi -- We do sell Bayberry Root Chips and Bayberry Root Powder, but not Bayberry leaves -- you may be thinking of Bay Leaves or Bearberry Leaves. The Bayberry root is what it used, in chips, chunks, or powder. The essential oil is very nice as well.

Bayberry Root Powder

Use in Magic:
Sprinkled on the money in your wallet to attract more money and good fortune to you.

Spell Methods:
Lucky Mojo Herbs, Roots, and Minerals are natural products of the Earth used in a wide variety of hoodoo, conjure, rootwork, folk magic spells and in folk medicine, according to traditional cultural beliefs.

Product Details:
According to the species and the use intended, Lucky Mojo Herbs, Roots, and Minerals are available in a variety of forms, including whole, chipped, sliced, cut-and-sifted, and powdered. Size and shape may vary, as these are products of Nature. They are packaged with one or more spells of magic printed on the label and we recommend that practitioners read about their use in the book "Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic" by catherine yronwode, which contains many more botanical and mineral spells.

Hello Miss Cat,

I must be mistaken and read the LM catalogue wrong. I misunderstood Bayberry Leaves for those Bearberry Leaves and Bay Leaves that you sell. I'm interested exactly in Bayberry Oil, the root chips as well, would like to have both.

So, I understand that these products are used in money spells, am I right?. I think I'm going to purchase your herb books for this Christmas.

Thanks a lot.

Hello, Alice Kyteler --

We sell all three -- Bayberry, Bay, and Bearberry -- plus Barberry! -- in various forms.

Bayberry is used for prosperity.

Much more information can be found here:

Hoodoo At A Glance
https://www.luckymojo.com/hoodooataglance.html

And if you buy "Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic," even more will become clear.

Good luck!
