We manufacture a long line of Skin Safe Essential and Fragrance Oils in an Almond Oil carrier base for conjure practitioners who wish to experiment with blending their own mixtures, without needing to worry about the relative toxicity of the different essential oils. The Lucky Mojo Skin Safe Essential and Fragrance Oils are explained here, with some sample recipes for blending them:

General Questions About Lucky Mojo Essential Oils

Unread post by roseyshere » Fri Aug 23, 2019 1:40 am

Hello there! I'm a complete newbie with many silly questions.

I'm sorting out my stuff and I found a lot of bottles with essential oils,

Can Anise Essential Oil be used in some spell?

How about Lavender, Camphor, Calamus ,and Basi Essential Oils. Are they any good in spells?

Hello, roseyshere, and welcome to the Lucky Mojo Forum!

All of the single-note herbal and floral essential oils you mention are indeed used in spell-casting in the hoodoo and other folk magic traditions -- but they are generally either diluted with a carrier oil (we use Almond Oil) to cut them to skin-safe levels (and i will explain why in a moment) or they are blended with other essential oils in a traditional formula to make a stock oil that is named for a condition or situation (these formulas are called condition oils, because they are named after the conditions addressed or the outcomes desired), and then the stock oils are also diluted with a carrier oil to skin-safe levels and packaged for sale to rootworkers and home practitioners of conjure or related forms of folk magic.

The reason conjure oils in general -- and this also includes essential single-note fragrances -- are cut to skin-safe levels is that in the practice of hoodoo, people rub them on their body, dress candles with them, and may add them to bath water, floor washes, or laundry water. As you may know, some essential oils are irritating to the skin in pure concentration, and must be handled safely for use. A couple of examples of this phenomenon, if you are unfamiliar with it, are Cinnamon Oil and Red Pepper Oil. Unless diluted in a carrier oil, they will burn your skin. Orange Essential Oil, undiluted, is a solvent strong enough to srtip paint off of your furniture and if set alight with a match will burn with a dangerously high flame.

So, as you can see, cutting essential oils with a carrier oil is not a way to "cheapen" the product, but a way to render it safe to users who may not be familiar with the chemistry of essential oils.

If what you have in your possession are Lucky Mojo Essential Oils, they are skin-safe and good to go in spell-casting and aromatherapy, with no cautions.

If what you have are undiluted essential oils, we recommend that you cut them with a carrier oil (again, we recommend Almond Oil) before you apply them to your skin, bathe in them, wash clothes or mop floors with them, or use them to dress candles.

By the way, we also offer a 12-Oil Special on our Lucky Mojo Essential oils! The regular price of $7.50 each means that 12 of them would cost you $90.00 -- but we will sell you a dozen for $82.50.

Hello,

My question here is will I go through oil fast enough to where I need to buy Essential oils from someone else and make my own oils or are your oils will last long enough to say "Hey, I don't wanta deal with the hassle and buy from Lucky Mojo)? I don't mind spending $7.50 on an oil I need here or there, I really don't want to pay $20-30 for true Essential Oils.

Hi joe szeliga,

I can only speak from personal experience, but I find myself using certain oils almost every day, and Lucky Mojo's skin-safe 1/2 oz Essential oils will last me for months, because you only need a few drops at a time. At $7.50 per bottle, even with shipping, I've found this to be waaaaay less expensive than making my own, as well as giving me traditional formulas I don't have to try to piece together on my own (which for me, I really appreciate).

I recently invested in the Rootworkers and Churches Special Oil, which is a 4 oz version of Lucky Mojo's Anointing Oils where you can blend up to four scented oils together.

You get more roots, herbs, and minerals per bottle, as well as a much more affordable price per oz, so if you do find that you use something ALL the time, you really can't beat the price:

I hope that helps!
