This one was a bit tricky for me to place -- I'll move it if the admins think it should be moved, that way they won't have to.

Has anyone heard of a vinegar jar spell created for oneself? The reason I'm asking is because I'm thinking about doing one for me to help me quit smoking.

What I want to try are the ingredients: black pepper, red pepper, salt, vinegar, and alum, as the signature of each of them superficially and in depth to some degree, will aide in smoking cessation. I plan to freeze it and bury it to the West with couple of cigarettes or a pack and my photo inside as well after citing Psalms and other scriptures that have the signature of fighting addiction, in addition to a heartfelt prayer over each ingredient as I add them: may this black and red pepper cause me to hate the harshness of this smoke so that it scorches my desire to smoke as it would my tongue; may this alum bind my lips to cease opening my mouth to partake in this disgusting habit; Lord let this vinegar sour my relationship with this substance as it would the taste of tobacco on my tongue; and may this salt be the sealer of this spell that pure spirits of light and well-lived ancestors may guard this work and kept me reminded that I am working to let this go. And my picture, because it's me, and the cigarettes as both a personal concern and the signified essence of the aim of the spell. To the West because as the sun sets to make the day leave, so too is the habit scattered to the dark sky out of my sight (I would do this on a night with no moon).

What I don't want to happen is for me to lose my voice or develop any natural or unnatural illness of my tongue or throat as could be the case with a similar vinegar jar spell with alum to stop a wagging tongue.

Is anyone aware of a spell such as what I've described above? I would love to try it so share my success or failure with it! And, of course, I'd like to know how to guard myself against the unwanted results that match what I just stated when I do this... to protect myself from muting myself in one way or another, literally (primarily) or secondarily: forgetting to let people know critical information, a decline in language or articulary function such as would be needed during a job interview, etc..

Thanks!

landsgenesis2,
i am not a forum moderator but i don’t think you should ever put yourself in a vinegar jar. the idea of a vinegar jar is to sour one’s life. i’ve used cast off evil oil and bath crystals before to help with bad habits that i have

Thanks! I read eucalyptus oil could help me with this. I just may purchase that and dress myself with it for 30 days. But enough about that. I'm going off topic and don't want to get in trouble.

Hello landsgenesis2,

I concur with sunchild above that you should not do this vinegar jar spell on yourself. It is not the way to go to rid yourself of nicotine addiction.

I've moved this conversation to the correct topic area on spells to stop smoking. Please read through the other posts here for helpful advice on the kind of work you should consider.

And yes, Cast Off Evil would be the formula for you.

I hope this helps you kick this nasty habit. Good luck!

Thank you you Miss Athena -- it appears the last couple of entries on this thread are in fact from me, and I've received loads of information.

While re-reading what was stated some months ago, and reading in between the lines so to speak, minus the bath and teas:

1) it could, to some, be inferred that simply anointing the body with Cast Off Evil can be efficacious, perhaps not to a greater degree of baths and teas, but still workable for bringing out the desired end of smoking?

2) Especially, right, with sincere prayers and biblical scripture tackling addiction with its application on the skin?

I went ahead and purchased the Cast of Evil Oil, which I"m uber-excited about using. In addition, prayers from the Crystal Silence League have been sent up with supplication on my behalf.

3) So here's to hoping that rootworking prayer and my self-anointing and personal prayers as I apply the oil to my body (throat and each side of my mouth) would be powerful enough to break this chord of addiction, or at least lower my intake, maybe not entirely, but to the degree where I find it necessary and pointless to continue smoking and if not quit at all but in large degree where it will be managable and eventually not worth -- is this, pivotal as it's easier, I think for me, to rid myself of a quarter to half a pack a day, rather than the pack and half I smoke daily at this stage in my addiction.

4) So basically, can prayer from me and League and body oil, alone (likely I'll add Crucible of Courage when I have the chance) be generally sufficient to work this quitting spell?

landsgenesis,

I think your plan is solid.

1) Some people prefer baths some candles. I can also go by signs as well. Water signs can work very well with bathing. Earth signs may work very well with powders. I wouldn't say one way is overall more effective than others, it depends on the person and the situation.

2)Yes, if you are anointing, you usually want to say a prayer for what you need or desire.

3) Yes, that's a good plan.

4) It should help you but remember, there has to be an active passion to quit too. You will have to change your behavior as well. Smoking at work for instance can be considered as a reward by the brain because you are taking a break from a stressful situation or using it to socialize. This same reward has to be replaced with something of equal value. Maybe instead of the smoke break, you could take a quick walk to get away or get a cup of coffee if there is a break room. A small piece of long lasting candy or gum. Every time you "have to have a cigarette" make yourself do something difficult or unpleasant. Pushups, freezing cold showers. Your brain will associate it with this task.

Best of luck!

Also, I have another question. I've been preparing the words for my own prayers as I intend to anoint myself with Cast Off Evil, and I'm presently contemplating the verbiage of what's to be said in prayer when I add Crucible of Courage to the mix.

So more to my point, my actual point, actually: What Psalms are good for praying away addictions like smoking (heavily) and drinking (rare and mostly social [not really a concern]). From what I know of Hoodoo Bible magic, the Book of Psalms is the pivitol crux when doing "work", but I'm also aware that the whole Bible can be useful.

So outside of the Psalms, what other scriptures from other places in the Word can I use in my prayerful ritual of anointing after I pray from my heart so that all ancestors and helping and benevolent spirits can begin the work that will bring my smoking to ceasing.

Thanks my Lucky Mojo Family!

landsgenesis2,

I'm sorry but I cannot help you with your question. I usually pray from the heart and use the psalms but I understand your point about maybe finding something in the Bible that fits better. I do know that there are members of AIRR that know a great deal about working with the Bible. I would go to the AIRR site and look up those who work in Bibliomancy. Those who use the Bible for divination also know a great deal about how to incorporate it in rootwork.

http://readersandrootworkers.org/wiki/C ... ibliomancy

I will start researching myself and let you know what I find.

Wishing you the best of luck in your work!

Hey Terra: I appreciate you and your response. I clicked the link you provided: I love Bibliomancy and have used it on occasion with direct, no-roundabout answers given to my questions with one or two verses that required no further reading. It was as if I'd asked a person question and they answered it succinctly, honestly, and without anything added.

I will reach out to Hoodoo Psychics as I've done in the past to get a relevant consult as well

But in the meantime, I'll use Bibliomancy and frame my questions as directly as I know how in the hopes of getting a one, two, or three verse answer.

I can't wait to hear of the fruits your research brings, Terra :)

I'm new to this.... I really need some help, suggestions, and or guidance. I have a friend that has relapsed after 5 years. He is not the same person that I met when we both was using together, something has changed. Before he was still loving, kind, caring, and willing to help his family and friends. He is my best friend. He was clean and sober for 5 years. He started using 10 months ago. He has turned into someone I don't even know. And I underatand that's the nature of addiction but I just know there is more to it. He and I aren't on the best of terms and it is killing me. He recently went to sober living, kinda had to but I think deep down he wanted to. I have to do something to help rid of his addiction. I want my friend bavk. He means more to me than most of my family. Please help me

RaShae,

I moved your post to this thread. I have to ask that you do not create new topics, instead, please do a quick search using the search bar in the right hand corner. We have a thread for just about every topic you can imagine. No worries though.

This can be a really rough situation and can be tough on you watching your friend go down this path. Please read the pages on this thread to get some ideas on what type of work you can do. Cast Off Evil is a good fit for those looking to rid themselves of addiction. You may need to use Influence to help convince him to seek help and get sober again. They have to desire to get clean in order to do it. That can be the most difficult part as I'm sure you already know.

I did the Cast Off Evil spell for my boyfriend with the herbs behind the framed picture and I also did the vinegar jar with the beer he likes. Since I did this, he is able to achieve 2-3 weeks of sobriety, but then he slips again. Usually he only drinks once (gets drunk) and then commits to getting sober again.

What can I do to strenthen the spell and help him give it up for good?

littlewing,

Good work! It sounds like the spell was successful. I would continue to work each of them because these things take time. It can take months or years for some people to quite completely. Support can be the biggest factor. Maybe working in the spiritual and the mundane to help him find support. If there are certain friends that influence him to drink, you can work to freeze them out. Attracting new friends who are sober or at least enjoy better forms of entertainment could really help him stay on the wagon.

Good Luck.

Thanks Terra! He usually drinks alone so friends aren’t much of a factor.

I’ll continue to work the spell. For a while I was prompting him to read Psalm 121 every day which seemed to help also. I just hate being a nag about things that will help him. He also needs to go to meetings but I can’t be the one to motivate him. It has to come from within.

littlewing,

You're absolutely right! They have to want the change. I guess maybe try distracting him when you think he is about to have a night of drinking. Movie nights at home with popcorn. Hobbies you can do together or support him in finding one of his own. Walks. Something has to fill that void instead of alcohol.

Post a prayer on the Crystal Silence League and we will pray together. http://crystalsilenceleague.org/prayerrequests.html

Hello friends,

There is an issue that's been bugging me for a while. I've been taking prescription drugs for treating anxiety, specifically social anxiety for a while now and think I've been doing good and feeling at ease compared to how a I felt before taking them. But lately I've been wondering if this drug I'm taking could interfere in my magical and spiritual work. I've been reading and learning a lot, thanks to Miss Cat's books, articles and threads on this forum, but the question that if the drug could interfere in my conjure and spiritual work and make it less effective (or ineffective at all) is always rising in my mind.

What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance for your kind answers.

georgosian,

I have heard a few people say that taking a powerful medication or recreational drug does interfere with their magical or spiritual work, but many others say there is no such effect. I think it would depend on the strength and the addictiveness of the drug(s), if any.

I would never recommend hat someone stop taking a prescribed medication in order to practice magic. I honour and value the medical profession, and expect them to be helpful insofar as they can. If your medication has side-effects that bother you, see your prescribing physician.

Best of luck to you.

I have a question. I’m thinking of having someone do a some candle work to help my husband with his addiction. They recommended an uncrossing candle work to start. Will that cancel out any other work that has been done before or is that just to remove bad energy and clear things up so that the energy flows better?

A.I ,

An Uncrossing candle will remove any curses, crossed conditions, or jinx that has been placed on him. It would not remove the positive healing work you have done on him.

When setting a candle you will also set a petition. The petition directs the energy of the candle to that purpose specifically. In this case, it may say, "By the grace of God, remove all curses, crossed conditions, and jinxes that are on John Doe, and remove the spirit of addiction to (item) from him, in Jesus name Amen".

When fighting addiction it is best to also work the magic in conjunction with a professional to assist with recovery. During this time I would cleanse the house of any negative or addictive energy, using Chinese Floor Wash to destroy and lingering energy. If possible get the husband to take a spiritual bath; if he won't, then add Uncrossing Oil to his shampoo or body wash.

Lucky Mojo sells other products that would support this work, including Cast Off Evil which, is used to break addictions. This can be utilized as a candle, fed to a mojo, or added to his shampoo or body wash. Lucky Mojo produced a book that is filled with spells that would be a great assistance to you, "Deliverance" by Khia Armand.

hello all,

i feel there is an ancestral (or some other spiritual) resistance at play here, so i want to acknowledge this very well could have been asked before or easily answered should i do some browsing, but for some reason i keep forgetting and want to take advantage of the moment of clarity.

my predicament is thus: i have an uncle who is quite taken by the bottle, and i fear it may eventually be the end of him. it's my father's adopted sister's husband, and both her and her husband (the alcoholic) are not bloodline related in any fashion, though the adopted lines are tightly connected.

what im wondering is--is there any way to make my uncle stop drinking or at least not kill himself with drink? if i had access to some part of his DNA like hair, what are some things I could do with it to remedy his addiction issues? im assuming grabbing his hair and putting it in a bottle with cast away evil oil and some alcohol might do some good, but if there are any other suggestions they would be greatly appreciated! thank you all, blessings

cyprianinspired ,

Alcoholism is an addiction that often is both mental and physical. It is strongly suggested that you work with a medical professional to try and stop the drinking, if at least curb it.

Cast Off Evil is a product you would want to use, add it to items he will touch, to his shower or shampoo. Burn white figure candles with Cast Off Evil, move the candle away from an open glass of his beverage. Creating a doll-baby stuffed with healing herbs and work the doll to influence him to stop drinking. A skull candle dressed in Influence or Commanding oil and herbs, talk to it to stop drinking or you will die. Yes getting a personal concern will make the work stronger. Hair is good because you are dealing with an addiction and need to influence his mind.

Read Psalm 69 over the work as well to rid of addiction: http://readersandrootworkers.org/wiki/Psalms_69

Hi, so I am a bit unsure of what type of spell work to do for my situation. I know a lot of work has to take place to tackle each obstacle.. but I’m a bit stuck on what to do to help with a certain aspect of my situation. I find a lot of information on how to rid someone of drug addiction or alcoholism, but not love/sex addiction. I was wondering if anyone had any certain herbs or oils in mind that can potentially help. I do have some stones that help with transformation, breaking habits, fidelity, and clearing trauma.

Long story short, my ex boyfriend was cheating on me the whole time with his ex girlfriend. He then told me he couldn’t be in a relationship and his therapists advised him to be single and heal. I then found out he was with a new girl a few days later. I was incredibly hurt. He was no longer in contact with me for around a month. I got to working on some spell work and we are now in communication once again and he has finally told me the truth about things and claims he is no longer with the girl and he is listening to his therapist and trying to be alone and be celibate for a year. With that being said, I still do love him and he says he loves me still and that nothing was wrong with our relationship to have done this and that he never wanted things to be this way. I wish to be in a relationship once again someday…but I know that won’t occur unless he is healed of his love addiction and need for constant validation because of his low self esteem and lack of love from his childhood. He’s also bipolar and is medicated for it, but sometimes goes through very manic episodes still. Not only do I want to be with him again someday, but it’s upsetting to see someone that I care about make harmful decisions for themselves and not being mentally healthy. I’d like to help him overcome his addictions so he can live a happy life and love himself.

Yelak5301,

You would want to work with Healing products to help heal him of his addictions, I would use a skull candle for that and add King Solomon for him to make wise decisions and Clarity to see clearly what he is doing and a way forward.

Other products that are great at breaking bad habits are Cast Off Evil, which is used to break bad habits including addiction like this. Can be worn on his body, taken in a spiritual bath, a mojo created with it and worn. To work on him from a distance, being this is longterm work, I would suggest making a doll-baby with healing herbs and dressed with this oil.

Thank you so much for the reply! I appreciate it. I do have a poppet of him but the herbs in it are mainly for love/reconciling. I do meditate certain intentions with it though and was planning on anointing it with healing oils. I was also thinking possibly a skull candle could help, but wasn’t too sure. Thank you for the help!

Yelak5301,

Yes a skull is a great way to influence him, blow tobacco smoke or influence incense into the candles face as you tell him what to think.

I was thinking reconciliation as well, I would like to see you do a honey jar using Balm of Gilead Bud and Reconciliation oil on the candles.

Shimmygirl,

I merged your post in the proper thread, the one on prayers for physical addictions alcohol tobacco drugs. This topic has 6 pages full of advice on how to assist a person with overcoming addiction.

Addiction is often physical and emotional, this can require medical attention as well. Always seek medical support.

The Psalm prayed to help with overcoming addiction is Psalm 69: https://readersandrootworkers.org/wiki/Psalms_69

Hoodoo practitioners often reference the phase of the moon, the hours of the day, day of the week, hands on a clock, and other planetary movements -- a waxing moon to draw, a waning moon to send away.

Hello! I've lurked a bit around this forum. However, my case is a bit more difficult since it involves my father. He's in his 50's and has diabetes along with other cardiac health related problems. But under no shape or form does he consider quitting smoking and/or drinking. So cast off evil products are not the best idea for him as there is no will of his own to begin with. I want to know if there are other spells that can force/command someone to renounce at those addictions. A vinegar jar to make smoking/drinking sour perhaps? Or something else? Thank you!

BalkanDiviner,

That is a great question, how to assist someone with addiction when they refuse or will not change? You can do a Commanding spell, create a Doll-Baby and pray over it for them to reject the addicted item. Take the item they are using, wrap it in Knott Grass, tie it shut, and cast it into running water. Use influence on a skull candle.

My experience these types of work are most effective when the person is willing, or if you can get them to join a treatment. Otherwise I would consider this long-term work.

"Hypnosis in Hoodoo" with Madame Nadia

Hypnosis is one of the occult sciences rarely associated with hoodoo, but numerous first-hand accounts document its use among historical conjure doctors of the 20th century. In this provocative and inspiring workshop, Madame Nadia brings hypnosis, a powerful tool for change, back into the spotlight of contemporary conjure practice.

I've found myself in a situation where I have to have surgery in a month, and unsurprisingly my doc has insisted my 25-year smoking habit has to end due to the possible complications in healing. I've consulted my GP and am taking medical steps from their advice but a lot of my addiction is psychological - I smoke to break up my day, take a break, and "reward" myself for achievements. I'm working with limited time and resources and am hoping someone can recommend to me a quick and dirty talisman/charm/bottle I can chuck together and carry with me to keep on the path. Ideally I'd love something which would encourage me to feel repulsed by the idea of smoking, but I know that would take time and probably trial and error to achieve. Right now I'm just reciting "Invictus" by William Ernest Henley in my head, which I've always done for anxiety (I highly recommend it btw).

Anyone who's been here and done that, would love to hear your tips and tricks.

EssaelBosch ,

Cast Off Evil is the formula you want:

https://www.luckymojo.com/castoffevil.html

There is a free anti alcohol spell on that page that could be adapted to your tobacco addiction, as well as a "Quick and Dirty Anti-Tobacco Freezer Spell" that will serve, and although a Cast Off Evil mojo bag may seem pricey, it could be a long-term friend.

While you're waiting for it to arrive, you could:
  • Do egg cleansings on yourself -- daily, if necessary
  • Take a spiritual cleansing bath with salt, hyssop, and lemon
  • Reward yourself with lemon (or peppermint) tea, cookies or candy -- so the cleansing process is also sweet.
Good luck --

Good evening, everyone. I'm new here, but I really need your help because my marriage is going through serious problems. My husband has become addicted to watching porn and masturbating. He is 53 years old but behaves like a teenager. Our intimacy is perfect, but this issue has started to bother me. I feel like I'm developing some aversion towards him, and I don't want that—I want to stop this as soon as possible.

Could you advise me on what to do and how to cast a spell to make him stop? This has become serious. As far as I know, sometimes he does it up to three times a day. I find it disturbing—if we’ve been intimate the last two nights, but in between, he still does it twice during the day and then three times the next day… I don't like it.

What candles should I buy? Which oils? How do I prepare the petition paper under the candle? What should I engrave on the candle? I would really appreciate detailed instructions so that when I order products from the Lucky Mojo site, I have everything I need.

Thank you in advance.Worried Wife

Curiois77 --

This is a delicate topic, and not only because it deals with sexual matters, which some find probablamatic in a public forum.

I will tell you the traditional types of spell i know for this, but be aware that they all depend on binding or tying the porn-addict's libido to a certain extent.

So, one way is to make a nation sack -- a mojo in which the major focus is a piece of string with your combined sexual fluids on it that has been tied with knots, and at each knot you will have said a prayer to stop him. This nation sack is then worn on your body.

Another way is to use a penis candle and tie a string around the base and knot it -- and this string should have his semen on it, but none of your sexual fluids. You may use a blue candle to heal him from sin or a black candle to lower his libido.

I have written an entire book filled with sex spells, including spells for fidelity, both bodily and mentally. Here is more about it, and i think you will find many ideas in it of relevance to your wishes.

If addicts have drifted out of you life, and become as strangers, there are still ways to bless them. And if you see people on the street who suffer from addiction, there are also ways to bless them. This show explores the topic in detail.
