Our prepared 8" glass-encased vigil lights come with a dressing of oils and herbs and will burn for 5 - 7 days, depending on ambient temperature and other factors.

If you wish to set a traditional Novena of nine days, you will either have to start and stop the candle (which can result in a smoky glass), or purchase two candles to run continually over the 9-day period.

Always practice fire safety when setting vigil lights. If you must keep them lit when you are away or asleep, be sure that no pets or children can get into the room with them, that they are not near curtains or flammable cloth or paper, and that you have a smoke alarm in your house. Placing lit vigils in the bathtub is quite common, but you must not have a shower curtain if you use this method. Setting them into a fireplace is ideal, as there is a ready-made chimney for them.

Hi everyone,

I've have just finished burning a Return to Me Vigil Light Candle and is already seeing progress! So in love and pleased with all the Lucky Mojo products

Now that I am starting my second candle I have a question about the parchment paper - as the first candle brought about such significant (and quite positive I would add!) outcome, is it possible if I could keep using the very same paper which I have previously wrote down my wish and placed under my first candle?

Or would it be better for me to use a new one? Grateful for any advice and insights, thank you in advance!

If the prayer (wish) is the same you can use the same paper, it is called a candle run.

As Mr. Christopher stated you can reuse a petition, or change it if the circumstances change. You can also add a photo and a seal under a candle while you burn it. You can learn more about petition papers from Miss Cats' book Paper in My Shoe.

Good day everyone. I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy. I used a come to me vigil for someone I never met before and it worked but I didn’t petition it correctly so it didn’t quite go over how I hoped it would. So now that I have met them would Return to me be a better vigil to use to get a chance at a date possibly? They were very sweet and we did not have much time to talk since they were in a hurry. I appreciate all suggestions. Thank you

I would do a Come to Me, Look Me Over, Follow Me Boy. Since you met already, you could use a Return to Me, but it seems you also want to increase the connection when it happens as well.

In addition to JayDee's candle suggestions, dressing said candles with some Bewitching oil would be a wonderful addition to increase their attraction and allure to you. You could also use the Bewitching oil on yourself if you can manage to give them a hug, or a little on the palm of your hand if a handshake is more appropriate or even on a physical item that you can gift them, such as a business card.

Also never knew what a candle run was until now. So do I wait until the last candle goes out and place the petition under the new one?

A run is when you have a predetermined number of candles for a burn. The most common numbers are 3, 7, 9, and 13. When one candle is going out you light the new candle with the same flame and yes you move the petition.

JayDee has described what is known as a Continual Burn Run (lighting each candle from the last.) There are also Timed Runs (lighting each candle on a certain day of the week, whether or not the previous candle has gone out. Both are popular, and neither form is "better" than the other, as the choice is mostly a matter of preference, convenience, family tradition, or community practice.
