Hi all,

In Miss Cat's materia magica, there is a spell using Allspice berries that I'd like to ask about.

The spell says to carry a cloth packet of Allspice berries to ease mental tension.

Questions:

1. Do I treat the cloth packet as I would a mojo bag? (preparing, smoking it, putting in a petition, dressing it, etc)
2. What color of cloth should the packet be?
3. Do I need to say a prayer or a Psalm to activate it?

I would certainly treat this as I would a mojo bag. There's the spirit of the allspice in there and you treat it with respect.

I would use either a red flannel bag (preferable for almost all hoodoo work), or a blue.

Yes, I always pray over my herbs or anything that I am asking for help. And I also activate it. Sometimes I add saliva, sometimes, hair, etc.

I read the Herb Magic page on allspice and using it for luck, money and business. What are some other ways to use the whole berries besides putting it in a mojo bag?

You can make a wash with them using the water they soak in, you can powder it and sprinkle it around a work place or on things for luck, It can be burned on a charcoal as incense. Most likely regardless of choice it would be mixed with other items to meet this goal IE a wash or bath adding items that also meet this goal, same for powder etc. You can also cook with it in this purpose. Like a sprinkle of all spice in corn bread to increase money ( corn is gold, all spice money)..best of luck

To use it in cooking, as j82 suggests, just crush them up in a mortar and pestle. The whole berries can also be used to load a skull candle. We also sell Allspice in the form of powder, which is handy when cooking with it or using it to dust only money-drawing candles. :

Yes you could niyoru, however it would work better as an addition to a money or business oil rather than to Holy oil.
