Last night I was asked by my husband's girlfriend to hot foot her husband out of the home because he is causing trouble.

Well it was late and I went to the house and did it to his work van. My husband went with me. We went out unprotected and got back and I did not cleanse myself.

My husband ended up having a off day. Things just did not go well for him all day. I ended up having a not so good day and ended up hitting a pole in my car. 2 of my kids are complaining of not feeling well.

I am thinking it might have something to do with last night hot foot trick.

Anyone have any thought on this?

Ncwitch,

It's not unheard of to have these experiences after negative work. It's also never to late to cleanse your family and home. You and your husband should look into Uncrossing products. An Uncrossing or hyssop bath while reciting Psalm 51 would help take off the residue of dark works. Van Van incense could work to drive out negative energies you may have brought with you back into the home. I would follow any cleansing work by putting up some protection spells. Protection oil anointed above windows and doors works wonders.

Thank you I have hyssop bath and an uncrossing oil I'll get some van van ordered today. I know the person I was doing work on knows magic and could have had something on the yard.

Hi Ncwitch,

If you think something might have been sprinkled in your yard, you can always get some Jinx Killer sachet powder and lay that down to neutralize it:

Best of luck to you and your family! Hope you guys are having a better time of things.

So the reader I go to always says someone did some witchcraft on me and thats why I am unlucky and don't earn enough money etc. She goes as far as describing the person in detail but I don't know who she is. Possibly an ex gf of my dad's though who was a ladies man. She wants to charge $800 for a cleansing which seems way high. Can I do anything for the cleansing? And should I get it done before doing any cursing work myself or get help doing cursing work? My target is my ex who humiliated cheated and lied to me after 6 years together. I thought he was a friend now he's a well off guy with someone who doesn't care that he cheated. Are protection and cleansing spells one and the same? I read that anything bought online should be cleansed too before beginning to work with them?

Hi again luckyinlove,

This thread is more specifically for cleansing yourself and your tools before performing rootwork. I think that you might find this thread on uncrossing more helpful to you.

am-i-crossed-jinxed-hexed-cursed-if-so- ... 12767.html

You can absolutely do the work yourself. What you will hear is to read this thread and that thread from beginning to end (I know they are long but the knowledge you will gain is incredibly important) and then if you have more questions you can reply back.

If you need a reading or more specific coaching in magical work, you can consult one of the readers at AIRR. I’m linking you directly to the page on Uncrossing. http://readersandrootworkers.org/wiki/C ... ad_Opening

Hello luckyinlove,

If you are going to a reader or rootworker who is not a member of AIRR, we can't speak for their ethics or professionalism. If you are being asked to spend $800 for a cleansing, that may be excessive but again, I have no idea who you are working with or the nature of the work involved. Some significant cleansings can indeed cost more, but sometimes they can be a simple working. I can't comment on the amount you were being charged because I do not know what work it entailed.

If you are concerned about being scammed by a reader or rootworker, please read the following page on "Black Gypsies" who troll the spiritual community and prey on vulnerable people in need of help. This will help you better identify a scammer vs. a genuine professional.

I have been practicing hoodoo for some time now and have had good results, some great some not so great. But I understand that some things are just not meant to be (at least at that moment)

Let me not drag on. Lately I have connected with others who are also are practicing spells and manifestation and they keep talking about the four elements and concencration and casting circles and things of that sort.

However I do believe they may be following a different path then myself

I love hoodoo and all that it has done for me. I basically wanted to know are there any rituals or cleansing steps I should be doing before I start any work?

I have researched as much as possible and haven’t seen anything so I’m wondering if I’m missing something or it doesn’t apply to hoodoo

teamotanaes,

Please don't take this the wrong way, have you read this tread? Yes! Cleansing is very important in hoodoo. It's just different. Hoodoo doesn't have the formal ceremonial magic basis so you just don't see rituals for it.

I take a cleansing bath before I do love spells. I clean my work space after a negative spell or during the waning moon. I burn Van Van incense in my house on Sundays during the waning moon just to remove any unwanted energy. I also use it to clean my cards after readings. All these are just some examples of cleansing. Please read this page on cleansing for more helpful tips! https://www.luckymojo.com/baths.html

Some people blend paths and that is fine too. I like to keep it traditional, keep it hoodoo. The natural, no nonsense work made sense to me right from the start and the connection was instant.

I hope this helps.

Hello LM Forum,

I've read through this thread, and the 13 Herb bath thread. This seems to be the right place as it concerns timing, not ingredients.

I have some darker ongoing workings, and will need to create some more. Usually I do my regular cleansing baths just before dawn, as listed in the Uncrossing or 13 Herb bath rituals. Water is usually thrown to the West, as I feel I am getting off either "gunk" (thrown at me, or just general negativity), or "sin" (self-created through dark works).

My sleep is much improved if I do the bath before bedtime after darker workings. However, the traditional "bathing before dawn" is recommended for uncrossing/13 herb baths. When is the appropriate time for this type of post-crossing bathing?

Thanks!

BellaSolanae --

You raise an interesting point.

It is true that Uncrossing baths are generally performed before dawn, so that you can go through your day in the best state of body, mind, and spirit.

But dirtying yourself in body (thing ditch-digging), mind (think researching crimes), or spirit (think cursing work) leaves you wanting to cleanse yourself as soon as the work is finished, whenever that occurs, day or night.

I personally do not like to bathe right before sleeping (wet hair!) but many people do so. If i did harsh rootwork, i would cleanse at once. I certainly would not eat or sleep in such a state.

Back in 2009, i wrote this reply (in this very thread) to a similar query:

Hoodoo is a set of folk beliefs, not a set of game rules.

How long after you dig in the mud can you walk around before taking a bath?

How long after changing the oil on your car can you go before you want to wash up?

Personally, i don't like to walk around in a spiritually unclean state. I want to finish my work by cleaning up afterwards.

Your mileage may vary.

And that still is true to me!

I hope this helps.

Thank you, Miss Cat!

Your response really helped me. I had tried the washing one's face and hands with the prepared bath immediately after working as you mentioned. It helped, but wasn't enough. Its similar to washing one's hands after preparing raw meat, but you still need to fully clean the kitchen of the mess, shower, and change your clothes as soon as you are done butchering. One would not wait.

Comparing it to oil changes, or a long day of manual labor explains the need for an immediate shower. I had been at least trying to wait until the sun went down thinking it would be closer to the typical bath timing.

If you dislike wet hair before bed, an old fashioned shower cap can help. This has been my secret to success with pouring the bath over my head without too much wet hair. Although after some harsh working, washing my hair and directly pouring over my scalp provides an utter spiritual relief. Truly getting something out of one's hair!

@teamotanae

If you do hoodoo spells regularly, you can do cleansing bath with cleansing candle asking only for evil to be removed from you, before beginning of any work. Also how strong is your protection. if you have protection in place why would you need cleansing?

I burn protection while doing negative work for others. and once done I would take a cleansing bath while protection is still in effect

If you approach a spell with scattered energy it may not have a desired effect.

In this case take a cleansing bath with cleansing candle gets you clean after the spell.

If you do any negative work, for example Domination, Influence, Hot Foot, or any enemy work I would definitely take a cleansing bath with cleansing candle after, followed by protection candle

Fiery wall of protection can be used on tools and I put it on my windows on my doors and mirrors for protection
