Hello to all! from MotherMokosh

Unread post by MotherMokosh » Wed Feb 01, 2023 10:52 am

Hello to all! I am new to the forum and wanted to say Hi with a small introduction. My name Mother Mokosh is something I picked up several years ago as I started on my journey to learn more about my ancestry (my great-grandparents came from Poland). I was born and raised in Pennsylvania, have been fortunate to live in Germany for a few years and currently reside in Western North Carolina with my family and four cats.

I became friends with AIRR member Reverend Art 16 years ago and it was quite a shock to us both when my spouse's last work transfer brought me to live an hour from him and Rev James. I had found the Lucky Mojo Hoodoo Rootwork Radio Podcast by accident and had listened to a few shows before I learned that Rev James was working on his membership for AIRR. I was excited for him and then again for Reverend Art when he joined. Recently he told me not to be shy and join the forum to meet more like minded people.

So a little background on my interests:

I am one of those late bloomers who had no clue that I had some natural psychic abilities until I met some awesome people when my son was a toddler and I took my first class on developing psychic ability. I have a background in some psychic mediumship (always learning and trying to get better), traditional witchcraft (this path has helped me connect better with my ancestors and the ways they may have done things back in the day), and tarot. I apparently have a knack for manifesting and scaring friends when I text out of the blue "What's wrong?" Usually something is wrong and they haven't told anyone yet....

Over the past few years I have been learning more about Hoodoo and it's strong traditions that all started when I first picked up a book on how to make poppets and Voodoo dolls. I wanted to learn more about the difference of Hoodoo and Voodoo as I know many get them confused or think they are the same thing. Little did I know this path would introduce me to a world that makes more sense and show me the way to set up protections I would need in my former job. I look forward to what the future brings and meeting you all.

Welcome MotherMokosh!

It's fantastic to FINALLY see you joining us here on the Forum! There's a great group of folks here and so many new avenues of exploration...get ready for information overload, lol. I sense a lot of lively discussions arising in the near future!

Definitely take a look when you have time at the links Mr. Christopher shared, and also Hoodoo In Theory and Practice. These are great places to start and expand from.

Also, check the Forum regularly! You can use the "Quick Links" menu to easily find things that have been added/responded to since your last visit, "hot" threads under the "Active Topics" heading, and more.

I'm sure we'll talk soon! :D
