Hello, my name is Amanda.

Unread post by Theredqueen911 » Mon Mar 27, 2023 11:41 am

Hello my name is Amanda...

I've been studying Hoodoo since 2007. I've been reading the website for many years and have always found the info on here to be helpful.

I've had a few teachers, some of which were good and others were a rip off. I even had a ex-teacher ask me to give him my bank routing number. He is no longer my teacher. Lol

My goal is to be a forever student of hoodoo and conjure. I believe that one never stops learning. I have an insatiable appetite for learning. I'm hoping to get into the hoodoo rootwork course and round out the rough edges. I've learned a lot of traditional practices but could always learn more.

I look forward to learning more and hoping to eventually get into the course...

Sincerely,
Amanda Dalmas

Hi Amanda! I’m also hoping to be admitted to the course soon. I am awaiting the last product I ordered and then I can finally schedule my interview with Miss Cat! I hope you and I both get to be students soon! :)

Hi, Amanda and seaturtle777,

Thank you both for your interest in this site and my course. While you are working your way toward studenthood, you can get in some extracurricular learning at another of my free sites, Southern Spirits -- devoted to historical documentation of hoodoo from primary sources -- at http://southernspirits.org

@Seaturtle777 luv your handle on here...One of my favorite animals are turtles in general...I had a land turtle as a pet for a while...but I set him free...sounds like you are on your way to becoming a student. I hope we both get in!! 🥰.

@Catherineyronwode luv the forum so far...lots to read. I will most definitely ck that southern spirits site out ...thanks for the welcome and for being a great hoodoo historian. Also for being traditional, in a world full of " do it your way" fluffy people. I'm pretty big on traditional practices. I mean I'm not sooo ridged that I can't bend a bit or come up with my own twist but I work as close to how it used to be done as possible.

All and all I feel good about being here. I will be reading for a while then in a day or so...the posting of questions will begin.

Blessings,

Oh very cool about the turtles! Sea Turtle is one of my spirit animals. :) And yes, there is TONS of information on this website! I also have many of Miss Cat’s books, and also Deliverance! by Khi Armand and I’m currently reading a couple of Miss Aida’s books. There are also cool video classes/short videos, on their related site Hoodoo Heritage and Learning Portal. I have bought several of them, just need to complete them (I have been devouring everything! Lol!!) I hope we can both be students soon!! :)

Miss Cat, hello! It’s EllynJ, Miss Athena helped me change my username—I decided to use a different one, for privacy reasons. I had a reading with you back in February about taking the course. I am still waiting on something I ordered to be able to schedule the interview. You might not remember me, but I’m still interested!! Lol! Just waiting. :)
Blessings to all!!

@Seaturtle777. Right on. Like I said turtles are one of my fave creatures. They find me and I find them. I even found one of the wild turtles burrow or home. Good luck.
Blessings,
