My father did seek medical attention, but there is no hope. The cardiologist said he's not a candidate for open heart surgery for his heart problem because of his age and he has stage 3 chronic kidney disease. The only option the doctors gave him was kidney dialis

Need to sweeten a diabetic to you? Honey and sugar may not be a great idea -- but apples and red onions will do the trick!

This recipe of mine has been featured in both Hoodoo Food! AND Hoodoo Honey and Sugar Spells:

APPLE AND ONION SOUP FOR LOVE
1 tablespoon butter
1 lb. medium red onions, thinly sliced (for love and luck)
1/2 lb. medium red apples, diced (for love)
6 cups chicken, beef, or vegetable broth
Personal concerns, if desired (to link the work to yourself)
1 pinch salt (protection)
1 pinch black pepper (protection)
1/2 cup grated Swiss or Gouda cheese
1/2 cup croutons
3 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped very fine (for a happy home)

Melt butter in a pot over medium heat. Add onions and apples. Sauté until apples and onions are tender. Add broth. Partially cover, and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add salt and pepper to taste. To serve, ladle hot soup over cheese in individual bowls, garnish with croutons and a chiffonade of basil. Serves 6.
