Mystics, Mages, and Magical Places 06/19/2023:
The sixteenth episode of Mystics, Mages, and Magical Places with Reverend Art, Reverend James and special guest Trevor Peerson, bringing you "Herbology 101, Herbs in Magic and Folklore!"

Mystics, Mages, and Magical Places will be on the air at 4pm PT, 7pm ET with Reverend Art, Reverend James and special guest Trevor Peerson! We begin this show with an interview of our guest followed by a discussion on the use of herbs in spellwork.

So, how does one use herbs in their spiritual and magical practice?

Steeped in the mysteries of legends and lore, herbs afford a physical link to the beliefs and practices of people and cultures throughout the ages. A common component among ancient worldviews was the belief in supernatural interventions, in both compassionate and malicious forms, thought to control natural phenomena such as the weather, success - or failure - of crops and harvests, the abundance or absence of wildlife, as well as effects on the health and prosperity of an individual, family, or community. Evidenced even in ancient times, people often used plants not only for food and medicines to alleviate pain and suffering but also as a means of connecting with and honoring the spiritual realm and creating change.

People in different cultures around the world have created spells, practices, and energetic safeguards for themselves, loved ones, pets, and property as well as to increase feelings of love, passion, and romance. In fact, many of these plants are some of the earliest and most-used around the globe and can still be used to create modern โ€œlove potionsโ€ and protection spells, among many others.

Join us and our special guest Trevor Peerson who shares his over 30 years of herbal knowledge and experiences as we explore the why's, when's, and how's of working with those wonderful herbs!

2023-06-19 19:34 balkandiviner14 Do you use any divination method that involves herbs directly in one way or the other?
2023-06-19 19:34 trollt Are plants personalitied, or are they more like salt in hoodoo, and have the qualities we ingrain into them?
2023-06-19 19:35 ginaerickson Yes!!! I make cbd salves with essential oils and magical chants. Looking to fall down the rabbit hole to all the rootwork I can reconnect my soul to.
2023-06-19 19:35 trollt Is drying herbs important? Or can they easily be used 'wet' (straight off the plant)?

2023-06-19 19:50 reverendjames We should try to grow some here. I'm wanting a bigger supply.
2023-06-19 19:50 trollt Grows wild. Rosemary is sort of an ornamental here, people have that in their yards. I'm not sure Iโ€™ve seen it wild.

2023-06-19 19:52 ginaerickson I saw a video today that showed collecting condensation from simmering rose petals on the stove makes rose water you can use DIY instead of paying for the expensive stuff in the stores. Thoughts?

2023-06-19 19:55 dr-sweets If you know your plants you can find a lot in public places. My local 7-11 has overgrown Rosemary in the side planter. You have to catch the fresh growth and cut it before they trim it back. We need vivid color pictures in a book to help identify.

2023-06-19 20:11 trollt "Over" complicating isn't necessarily more than someone packing lots of stuff into it for their own purposes. Requiring that complication is definitely dogmatism to self-justify.
2023-06-19 20:12 trollt Each generation has the challenge of discovering it, especially before the internet and in the wash of information overload.
2023-06-19 20:13 dr-sweets Once he makes an infused oil, a tincture or a tea what is his expiration date methodology?
