Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
Well, I am thinking of disposing my dad's photo with the petition written on it, to the back balcony of my house in a potted plant...
I just would like to ask if this is ok in terms of burying somebody's photo, somebody that I love and want to be around healthy and fine...feels like burying something that represents him, his face

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
crystalangel,
The purpose of disposing of ritual remains is affected by the work. Burial as disposal is used to end work, dispose of the work. Burial is also used to do the work or in the deployment of the work.
Burial to end work (disposal): When a job is done, and it has a conclusion you can bury it to represent the work ending and its purpose. For example, burying in a backyard keeps someone, a front yard draws someone, a crossroad spreads the energy out, and a cemetery symbolically ends them or is used to kill them.
Burial to do work (deployment): Taking items to do the job, such as taking a completed vinegar jar to break a couple up, it is traditional to bury at their stoop so as they walk over it to cause them to interact with it and break up. Taking a box and making a casket and burying it in a graveyard is a form of doing the work to kill an enemy. Taking love items from a straying lover and burying it in the backyard by a tree's roots to hold them down, is a way to keep a man or women at home.
You said it's ok and insinuated that is it ok to bury a person I love and want to keep around. The answer is yes for you, because Hoodoo is not your tradition -- but its customs are not based on what feels good to you, they are based on the tradition of hundreds of years of work. Hoodoo is very much a contagious magic, touching and being exposed to magic. Foot Track magic is very common in Hoodoo a person would step into something, get exposed to something, to influence them. This is a traditional practice of Hoodoo. If you do not feel comfortable with them, then review the other methods listed on the page and pick one that fits your interest.

Thank you so much JayDee!!!
It not that I don't feel comfortable enough with burying but mostly if it is ok in tradition of Hoodoo to do that snd its meaning of course.
You were pretty clear and very very helpful... everything is much more clear now!

Notice that DISPOSAL by burying a photo in a potted plant is different than burial in a cemetery -- but you have to ask yourself WHY you would bury the photo in the plant. As an intentional act, what will burying it do for you, magically?
As for me, i have buried complete spells with two photos -- of two people, pinned together, face-to-face -- in a potted plant. Burying the pinned photos is DEPLOYMENT of the spell because the potted plant absorbs the photo and uses it as plant food and spreads it abroad.
There is no right or wrong here -- as long as you are clear on your intentions.

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
We are so lucky to have you here sharing your knowledge and your experience Miss Catherine!!! Many thanks to your people of your team of course!
I finally buried the photo in a potted plant on the front of my balcony, along with the tea candle which had some wax left in, while praying that my dad will always be returning and coming here to my home, which is actually our family's home...he and my mom have built this house, he has lived here for more than 20 years.
Before burying I folded the photo towards me, turn it right and folded it once more, while praying that he will always be returning here to his home and me, his only child.
I also asked the plant the permission to do so and asked the plant to take care of my desire.

Good, you got your intention set and you deployed the photo where the plant can radiate its influence. You are using the plant as a CONTAINER SPELL rather than as a surrogate for a graveyard.
This book is all about contained spells and it includes lots of information about potted plant spells for those who are interested:

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
The other day When I had went to dispose my bathwater for a gambling/ casino spell that I was working on, I guy with food in his hands had came up to me asking for directions and it was super late at night in a secluded area which was kind of strange. Also a few months ago the same situation had happened where someone came up to me asking for directions as well with food in his hands, then before that when I was performing another spell a small dog without an owner and on a empty leash came up to me as well barking. What can this possibly mean? This all happened as I was walking back home.
Also will my spell get ruined? because when the guy who asked me for directions I responded and said I didn't know

Lovingprincess ,
You should book a reading to determine the spiritual connection between this and your work.

Should not have an effect on the spell unless you looked back.

How do you dispose of a vigil candle in a cemetery/graveyard if there are no garbage cans there?
Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
DeborahHarris,
Glass vigils should be recycled, do not bury them in a cemetery.

I know, but the Destruction vigil (per instructions of the LM office when I called) should be "disposed of in a cemetery".
Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
DeborahHarris,
I can tell you that Miss Cat states on here countless times not to dispose of glass containers from candles but to recycle them. You can remove any leftover wax and ritually dispose of that.
In The Art of Hoodoo Candle Magic, Miss Cat states, "Once you have conducted a divination on your candle or wax remains; recycled any glass..." (pg. 64).

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
What happened was, I ordered a Destruction Vigil candle. It was black with the Destruction label (Tower being struck by lightning) and definitely smelled like Destruction (I have the oil) but on back of the candle was the label for "Crown Of Success" Vigil candle (read the 23rd Psalm ect.) Since I knew that wasn't the correct label on the back, I called the shop to find out what exactly was the right Psalm/Prayer for this (Destruction) vigil. The lady apologized and offered to email me the label. I declined and said she could just read it to me instead. It read 1) Take a Hyssop bath and read the 51st Psalm. 2) Place the names, birthdays, pics , ect. of the people you want to destroy on the candle. 3)Burn in outhouse, bathroom or shed. 4) Dispose of the candle in a cemetery. The only thing that's left of a vigil candle is the glass and charred remains at the bottom. Disposing of it there (in a cemetery) wouldn't have been so bad if they had trash cans. All they had was this huge dumpster type receptacle near the concrete caskets, and it was closed and the lid was WAY too high for me to open. I didn't want to leave it on the ground (especially for someone to find and open up the bag). I asked if I'd had LM to burn it for me, would they have taken it to a cemetery to dispose. She said no, and that they would only give a report of the burn.
Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
DeborahHarris,
In the future, remove the petition, name paper, or photos of the people, scrape out any leftover wax (if any) and wrap that up and bury it at a grave and dispose of the glass in a recycling bin.

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
So, I have a lot of creeks nearby where I can dispose of ritual remains. This may be a silly, hair-splitting question, but none of the creeks around here directly discharge into larger rivers or the ocean. They drain into lakes, swamps, and sinkholes, which eventually recharge the underground aquifers (Florida LOL). Would disposing of uncrossing ritual remains in a creek still work even if they would end up stagnating in my backyard swamp soon enough? Or does that not matter at all, given that all creekwater here flows (even if slowly) and eventually goes back into the water cycle anyway?

Hi, LonePine99 --
That is anything but a silly question ... and the answer is that to move someone away, you definitely want running water (or you can use a railroad train) -- but to have someone sink down in spirit or physical strength, a swamp is perfect. You can adjust jyour spell accordingly.

So I went ahead & deployed my love drawing spellwork into a potted plant I bought today. What happens if the plant dies? I ask this bc I'm not much of a gardener really, but I will care for it the best I can. I live in a major city so potted plant is my only real solution at this point. Thanks

Gothbarbie1313,
If the plant dies, buy a new plant and replace it in the same dirt.

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
Raccoons dig up candles I tried to bury to bless the property and its annoying as hell. I consigned to leaving them in my pet cemetary/future garden under the tree in the back yard. You'd think there'd be a mention of this online, like you can't just bury something or put something conspicuous somewhere without animals outside messing with it. I'm not sure why this fact is never mentioned in regards to putting anything at a crossroads, etc. And if burying is so mechanically important to the manifestation of the spell than it'd be an important mention overall. It takes time to empower these items with work just to have your sacred get salted on by a raccoon after day 9 of a work because the raccoon dug it up overnignt.

I instructed my stepdad to purchase uncrossing and St. Christopher and explained to him I'm doing the work for 7 days. As for disposal of the candle would it be better to place the candle inside the vehicle itself like under the seat when done?
Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
coderedfield47,
Burying at a crossroads is traditional work or a cemetery. If an animal digs it up is more of a sign to the work. Burial is a sign of completion and does not always involve burial in a death perspective, rather putting into the ground. For example: burial in the front to draw, burial in the back to keep. Knowing the history and practices informs the practitioner of the work.
Ritual remains does not mean burial, rather how we deploy them, or place them to end the work. Candles in glass are often recycles, the herbs or other items, based on the work can be buried, placed in the car, placed in the front or back yard.
The issue is understanding the purpose of placement, understanding the historical, magical location, and utilizing it for the prospective outcome.

So theres no hard and fast rules to it, other than common sense like you wouldn't bury the ritual remnants of a baneful work meant to mess with someone else on your own property

Hello, coderedfield47 --
There are not "hard and fast rules" for ritual disposals because this is folk magic, but there is a lot of tradition, and it does contain more than "simply common sense."
This entire Forum thread springs off a web page from my free online book, "Hoodoo in Theory and Practice" (HITAP) -- and the relevant basic knowledge is here:
LAYING DOWN TRICKS AND DISPOSING OF RITUAL REMNANTS IN THE HOODOO TRADITION
http://www.luckymojo.com/layingtricks.html
Click the link, read that page, and you will get the bigger picture.
Good luck.

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
I did the vandal root/graveyard dirt spell. The reader I was working with at the time said we wanted coercive work and suggested the St Martha novena as well. I knew it would take time to work (if it did), but I didn't link it to how badly things have been going between us until now.
It was under my bed and the other day, it was dislodged somehow and one of my dogs got a hold of it (they didn't chew it at all and it had been there for a while). I didn't want to put it back right away, so I tucked it away somewhere (not back under the bed). There was an almost immediate change in my love. He hadn't been this kind to me for weeks and went back to being sweet and loving to me.
I put it back earlier today and he went back to being cold to me, so I took it out again. So how do I disperse of the spell to end its effects? Thank you.

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
Hello!
I plan on designing a healing and blessing ritual for a relative who's suffering from metastatic cancer. It's alongside a petition for the Virgin Mary and a special Orthodox Saint.
Now, I know I can throw East remaining wax to strengthen the work. But how can I properly deploy the jar after one month altar work?
I'm not in a close relationship with this relative and they're not welcoming to magical practices. I don't believe burying in my front/back yard is a good alternative. They additionally live in an apartment.

A potted plant if you think it would be safe enough to give them. Other options include burying it in a church yard, in particular the one you are working with to continue the healing blessing work. You can do a crossroad close to the person you are doing work on, that they pass frequently, or even a tree and pray that as the tree grows and thrives so does the person.

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
Hello LM family
I hope this is the right thread to ask...
I was wondering what kind of curse could we throw in a well?
Today I discovered a well in a cemetery yard
So I was thinking of of a cursing spell with a black doll with legs hands tied with black string, eyes closed...to curse her in loneliness, to immobility (not physical injury), to restrain her moves, her mouth...
Any ideas?

Since the well is in a cemetery, you can throw spells down there to cause sorrow, loneliness, and torture. When you do this, the doll will sit at the bottom of a deep dark cold well.
