Slither,

After a week of carrying on the body, you do not need to have it on you daily. wear it when you interview, wear it when you apply for jobs, wear it when you need a boost to give you success.

Hey guys, it's been months since I've been here; I do intend to read this thread in its entirety when I'm free from work in the event this post proves redundant.

There is a back story, but I'll spare you all that -- suffice it to say I'm really in a bind here. I plan to purchase the actual Lucky Mojo book and get proper ingredients, but in the interim, I'm curious to know if containing and carrying salt, pepper, basil, bay leaf (this is just me thinking and brainstorming) and perhaps something else (?), sealed with a Psalm and/or prayer would work for anything like a shield or guard against general malevolence?

I really want to emphasize that I mean no disrespect to the process and that I'm not just taking some haphazard approach to this just because "I don't feel like doing all that." No, no, this is just something I'm wondering would have any power until I can give it its due reverence. I thoroughly understand that sloppy work yields sloppy results, but again, I'm kind of in a bind.

Thanks, and manifold blessings to you <3 🙏

dear landgenesis,

You are on the right track:

Salt -- protects
Pepper (black) -- repels evil
Basil -- repels evil
Bay leaf -- grants protection through invisibility and a wise mind

To these you might add

Eucalyptus -- repels vermin and disease
Mint -- protects against evil and illness

There are others, but that is what came to mind right now.

Hello,

I have an important question regarding a dream I had pertaining unto the nature of my Mojo.

In my dream I pulled out my Mojo from my pocket as I felt it sticking into me, for which, I normally do not feel it doing-so ( neither in waking-life as well... ) In my hand I noticed something sharp poking against the chamois material. Curious I untied the Mojo, and, to my surprise found a thin membrane-like material tied, at the top and holding all the contents inside it ... the material was like, saran wrap ... but, then, too, I noticed couple small tears upon this ( skin? ) coating. I turned it over in my hand. That's when I noticed it: a claw growing from the midst of the contents. I put the ( skeleton? ) back inside the chamois, tied it back tight, and, reminded myself to make sure and look into-this further. I awoke ...

I feed my Mojo every Monday, Wednesday, Friday. I anoint ( feed ... ) my Mojo one-time upon these days within a five-spot design. I feel-like my Mojo is trying to tell me it needs more feeding upon these days? In the mannerism of, anoint it with the oil-in a five-spot--upon said days, but, do so twice!

Any feedback upon this dream would be much appreciated.

Lucky Pistol

P.S. I have had my Mojo alive now for a good month.

Lucky_Pistol ,

We do not provide dream interpretations on the forum, though you can get one by an AIRR member who can interpret it for you: http://readersandrootworkers.org/wiki/A ... ootworkers

If your interpret that it needs more feeding, try adding more oil to the mojo, smoke it in incense and hold it close to your body as you pray over it to increase in might and strength.

Lucky_Pistol,

When you have a strong feeling, in my experience is to listen to that and do it. I would also make sure it is secure as your dream seemed to indicate items being lost or falling out.

JayDee,

Now that you mention it my Mojo is rather, how I should I put it ... chunky ... So, when I tied it up finally, it were a little awkward, but, I got the job done. I would like for it to be a little-more secure however. I have this idea ( which I borrowed from Mrs. Cat's book Hoodoo Candle Magic-where she talks about saving the flame of your burning candle...) and I figure why-not wrap the Mojo within another chamois ( thus it becomes double wrapped )? Now that my Mojo has had time to settle, flatten-out somewhat. In this way my thinking becomes too saving my Mojo hand.

I feel comfortable to do this, however, I would like your input upon this matter. What would you do, JayDee? Would you recommend I dismantle the Little-Fella? Start-over? Remove all contents inside ( including the loose leaf curios )? And, if so, then, I would like to still-use all said ingredients-instead bury it and start all over with another! Again, I feel comfortable to save my Mojo wrapping it within another chamois...

I would love to hear your feedback upon this one. Thanks in advance.

Hello Lucky_Pistol,

A mojo should never be too "chunky" to be comfortably secured and worn against the skin. If you find yourself asking whether your mojo is as secure as possible, re-think your construction and re-do it as needed.

Double-wrapping a mojo is one way to do it. Editing your contents down to create a mojo that does not fight with you to tie it up easily and confidently is another thing to consider. Feed it regularly and keep it close to your skin whenever possible.

Do pay attention to the messages it is giving you. Mojos become living things if you prepare and nurture them correctly, so they will communicate with you. If in doubt, follow JayDee's advice and contact a member of AIRR to interpret for you.

Good luck.

Slither ,

Yes you would want to wear it often and feed it often, pray over it often, this is one way of working a mojo to help you with the desire and bring success.

Hello LM Staff,

I have a red triple strength mojo hand made for good luck in love and money. There are 4 herbs that I would like to replace or leave out and use it toward the intent to draw money.
Rosebuds, Damiana, Cubeb berries and Lavendar flowers.

When I ordered my bag it came with a dram of Van Van oil, but the instructions printed mentioned using Lucky 13 oil which I don't have. Is this, ok?

What are some alternative herbs, roots and oils I can use to make my mojo bag equally effective?

Thank you,

hoodojim817 ,

A lodestone to draw money, pyrite stone to draw money, five finger grass, lucky hand root to draw money and luck with the hands. Nutmeg, cinnamon, for luck in drawing money, add a real 2 dollar bill.

Van Van oil is a good oil to turn things from bad to good luck, it can also be dressed to anoint charms that are worn. Lucky 13 would bring luck by using what is traditionally thought of as bad luck (13, black cat) and making it lucky.

I would suggest purchasing for longterm money work, Money Drawing and Wealthy Way.

I have john the conqueror roots that are about 2 inches in length. I need to cut them into pieces the size of a nickel or quarter.
Is there a particular cutting tool for this?

hoodojim817,

High John Conqueror roots are a very hard root, it can take a hammer to break them into pieces and even a coffee grinder to break them into smaller pieces.

Would proximity to the person make an impact on the effectiveness of a bag meant to focus on that relationship? For example, if one made the reconciliation bag to soothe love problems in the art of making mojos, would it be less effective for a long distance relationship? I’m excited to receive deacon millets book to learn more reconciliation techniques but I’m curious if mojos might be more suited to what’s directly around the carrier vs a cosmic force unbound by geography

Hello cyprianinspired,

It has been my experience in conducting love work for clients that geography can have an impact on results, but I attribute this more to the generally greater demands of long distance relationships than to anything spiritually motivated.

That said, spells to influence someone far from you do require spirit to travel a greater distance to reach your target. Not impossible by any means, but just an added factor to your work.

You can certainly do your mojo spell for the object of your desire wherever they may live, and pray for a positive outcome. Your mental and emotional commitment to your work will maximize your chance of success, so stay optimistic.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Quick question about mojo bags: I know that you're not supposed to let other people touch your bag, but I also recently heard someone say that you're not supposed to let other people *see* it either. Is that true? This person also said that, even if no one sees/touches your bag, that you should still make/buy a new one every few years. Is that true as well?

Thank you!

StellaM ,

It is the general practice that a mojo is not to be touched or seen as it can kill the mojo. Does it mean it is dead each time? No, we often do divination to check. My experience if someone picks it up and messes with it, its time to start over, if someone glances, it will likely be fine (my experience). But it is true to keep it from being seen, when not in use keep it in a safe location like a locked box. Every year it is traditional to take the hard objects out, replace the soft objects and reassemble the mojo, most workers do this at a cost for you.

Read more about Mojo bags from Miss Cats book The Art of Making Mojos, these questions and even more are discussed: https://www.luckymojo.com/theartofmakingmojos.html

A mojo made with lucky rocks, which are actually fish earbones or otoliths. Hand-made and of excellent quality! Order "Lucky Stone Leather Mojo Amulet w/ Special Oil #20 and a Red Flannel Bag" AMU-USA-LUCO $24.00 at the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. in Forestville, California.

Lucky Stone Leather Mojo Amulet w/ Special Oil #20 and a Red Flannel Bag

Use in Magic:
The Lucky Rock -- actually a fish ear bone -- is an old magical lucky charm used by Native Americans, and adopted by African Americans for good luck in job getting and all around success. Sung about in blues lyrics of the 1920s, but hard to find these days, this little mojo is small enough to carry in a pocket or purse, or wear hidden in a bra.

Spell Methods:
A mojo is the staple amulet of African-American hoodoo practice, a flannel bag containing one or more magical items, such as roots, herbs, seeds, coins, charms, a petition paper, and/or personal concerns, made to assist in the accomplishment of a wish, desire, or prayer. A mojo made for luck, wealth, love, protection, or health is traditionally carried on the person, but some mojos are hidden in a place where they will work on those who pass by. Alternative names for the mojo include hand, mojo hand, conjure hand, lucky hand, mojo bag, conjure bag, trick bag, tricker bag, root bag, toby, jomo, joomoo, gree-gree, grigat, gris-gris, and nation sack. A mojo used for divination, somewhat like a pendulum, is called a Jack, Jack bag, or Jack ball.

Product Details:
This Lucky Mojo brand mojo hand contains authentic, traditional roots, herbs, and symbolic ingredients fixed in a leather case. Each one is made with consideration and prayer. They come with dressing oil and full instructions for use.

My question is about whether one can imbue their bag with more than one intent. I'd like for.my mojo bag to offer peace of mind as well as keep my family safe. Do I need to have all the ingredients for both intentions inside the bag?

Yes and no. An everyday mojo is normally for 1 purpose. There is a Trio Hand as featured on Lucky Mojo Rootwork Hour by Mrs. catherine yronwode. You can find that recording here https://www.blogtalkradio.com/luckymojo ... aele-11021

Start by asking yourself "What does peace of mind mean to me", is it money in the bank, health, happiness, or longevity? Then you can start making the mojo.

Best of luck,
Mr. Christopher

I have an old steady wirk mojo bag its 2 years old. I was wondering if I could open it up now. Is it possible to me. to use the john the conquerer root and the coin that is in there? I wanted to use these 2 pieces for a commanding work mojo.

Hi Sunny1973,

Yes you can reuse the coin, wash it with some whiskey or Florida Water first. Normally I would not reuse roots it would be better to get a new JTC.

You can learn more about making Mojo, from the Art of Making Mojo by catherine yronwode.

Slither,

If the bag has gone months without wearing it or feeding it, then it is likely dead. You can do divination over it such as a pendulum to determine if it is still alive. Bags are not active v inactive, it is alive v dead.

Slither,

You can also remake the bag if you have the original items list, you would keep any curios like Pyrite, and replace the herbs. Put in a new bag, dress with oil or Crown Royal Whiskey.

Slither,

Miss Cat published a book on Mojo's, how to care for them, craft them, and replenish them. I think this would be a great asset to you to learn about caring and creating mojos.

The Art of Making Mojos by catherine yronwode is ready for orders. I think you all will like it. Shipping April 16th, 2018:

Mojo bag contents question:

Has anyone worked with the magnetic love pups? I've never heard of them until reading Miss Cat's page about mojo bags. Any tips on what to do with them other than what was suggested on the info pages?

Could you do a moving pup spell like a moving candle spell? Or work it alongside a candle? Can they be put in a honey jar?

Can you work them to find a lost pet? Or to attract the right dog to you?

Theredqueen911 ,

Magnetic pups can be used in a mojo, the same way as two matched lodestones. In a mojo, they often use smaller lodestones, magnetic love pups may be a bit bigger and not comfortable to wear, but try it and decide.

Yes you can work with moving pup along with moving candles, this is also a traditional spell moving two lodestones together over 7 days, then binding them up and keeping them together, on a dish, in a mojo, etc.

Yes this work can be done with a candle, you can work a candle spell with two lodestones at the same time, I have put two lodestones in two figural candles and sprinkles love herbs and magnetic sand as bringing them together.

They can be used to draw dogs or pets if you like.

You originally asked about mojo bags, I do think you may be more interested in the topic on lodestones as the material is similar, as they are worked in a similar fashion.

Lodestones: https://www.luckymojo.com/lodestone.html

Also Lucky Mojo has a course available on lodestones as well.

Dear JayDee,

Wow your response was very helpful!!! I think you are right about the lodestone being better for a mojo bag. I especially like that they can draw pets in, not many people do conjure with animals. But they will take hits for you....and I've tried to heal my dog with Saint Martin de Pores. Thanks 🙏❤️👍.

HappinessRules,

You will have to get a reading on that, we have no idea what the purpose of the mojo was made for, which would indicate that. Also who made it and how they tied it. Some falling out can be a poor knot, but if it was made by Lucky Mojo or an AIRR member who is skilled then it would likely be a sign.

I would suggest having it remade and adding the items again. This is a service many people and Lucky Mojo offer.

Namaskar and Hello to all,

Gris-gris (I'm from new orleans so I've always called them that) are my favorite part of rootwork, but having no formal training I've gotten a lot of information that i don't know the validity of. I have a few questions if someone more informed than me could answer, i would be appreciative.

1) I bought a gris gris from the luckymojo shop and when it came in the mail, an ingredient with a claw had torn a small hole in the bag during transit. I just ignored it, but is that a problem?

2) im told they should be fed every week on the same day and the way to feed them is 5 drops in the pattern of the five on a dice. is this correct?

3) the one i bought said it could be left in a drawer or something but ive always felt inclined to keep it concealed on my person, is this okay, and does it make a difference?

thanks to anyone who responds! -dhruva das

Hindhru --

1) That's a new one on me, but i believe you that it happened. Personally, i would consider that a problem and ask for a new bag to put around it. Call the shop at 707-887-1521 and send a cell-phone photo. Thy will send another cloth bag.

2) The same day? Sure, if that helps you to remember. The exact same way every time? Nah. The five-spot pattern? Yes, that is one of several traditional methods. There are others -- spitting on them with whiskey, for instance, or dabbing them with cologne.

3) That is up to you. Personal choice.

Sure. Thanks very much Mrs. Cat. I apologize for not addressing it sooner, I got it in the mail about a month ago. Luckily I took pictures as soon as I opened it so you can clearly see what happened.
I'll give the shop a call tomorrow, assuming they're open. I'm also assuming that the shop number you gave me is a cell phone and that's where you want me to send the photos.
Thank you for answering my questions but your responses made me think of a couple more relevant questions, I'll keep it short. I apologize, this is how I learn  .

Should I just put the whole thing, bag and all in the new bag when it comes?
How often should a bag be fed then If it doesn't necessarily need to be fed on the same day every week? Does it need to be fed weekly at all?
Lastly, does a bag need to be fed with the same oil every time? the one I purchased came with lucky 13 but could I also spit whiskey on it for example or should it be lucky 13 every time?
Thank you so much, I appreciate your wisdom and I should be ready for our phone interview in April by the way!

I also got an order from the shop in the mail today, thank you for the handwritten inscription in one of the books. That was a nice touch.

Hindhru,

1. Transfer the items from the torn bag into the new bag, you can dispose of the torn bag, if the bag is for good things, in your front yard ( bury it).

2. A mojo is fed weekly, I suggest you do it the same day each week, not only does it make it easy to remember and keeps the mojo strong and working. You can also align the day of the week with the intention of the work.

3. Whisky or the oil is fine. The more you work with the mojo the more connected you will become and you will sense when it wants something different like whisky v oil.

I looked for a more appropriate forum to ask this but I couldn't find one. I called the shop about the torn bag like Catherine said and they told me to send them an email detailing everything and the photos and I just wanted confirmation that I had the email right cuz it was just said to me over the phone. Is it order@luckymojo.com ?
The person I spoke to said she thinks it's order and not orders but I want to be sure.

I've got a few questions if someone has the time.

is my triple strength lucky red clover a gambling hand specifically or is it more general? It seems like a lot of the ingredients are gambling spefix but I don't know a whole lot.

I haven't noticed a whole lot of effect from it. I've had 1 major unusually fortunate circumstance and not any really bad luck but otherwise I don't feel it's effects super apparently. I did an obi reading which said it's still alive but I'm not a very good reader. It also doesnt "feel" dead to me. I've even started trying to dress it with whiskey instead of Lucky 13 oil to perk it up. Is there Anything I can do?
Could this be caused by the small hole in the bag from the claw? I'm pretty certain nothing has fallen out ever.
Lastly, can I dress one bag with 2 oils at a time occasionally or is that overkill? could I use money oil on one side and whiskey or van van on the other for instance?
Lot of questions, thank you for listening to me.

Hindhru,
As stated on the Lucky Mojo website:
Lucky Red Clover Mojo Bag - "Our most popular mojo is a general all-around good luck, money-drawing, love-drawing, and health-protection conjure hand made with John the Conqueror root, Dragon's Blood, Devil's Shoestrings, Mojo Beans, and much more, dressed with Lucky 13 Oil."
So to answer your question, it's not a gambling specific mojo but a general all-around luck mojo.

You say you haven't noticed a whole lot from it, but that major and unusual fortunate circumstance you mention sounds like it's working to me. Did you spend the first 7 days with your mojo close to you? How long have you had this mojo? Has anyone seen or touched it?

Based on your answers it might be time for it to be retired and to purchase a new Mojo. If you're looking for a gambling specific hand you might want to look at:
Fast Luck Triple Strength Mojo, Lucky Hand Triple Strength Mojo, Three Jacks and a King Triple Strength Mojo (for luck in card games).

You can definitely dress with a combination of two oils if you like, the Lucky 13 oil is still a great oil for the bag if you have it still, but the oils you mentioned above also sounds like a good combination.

Hindhru ,

The Lucky Red is general mojo but is often associated with luck and gambling due to that. The whole indicates you need the bag remade, Lucky Mojo does this at a service, they will take the hard items out, dispose of the soft, and replace the bag. Often a bag is dressed with the oil to feed it and give it the energy for the work. Adding oil is not overkilling it. Do not get it overly wet, it can cause molding.

I suggest taking a pendulum and holding it over the mojo than asking it if it is still working for you, does it need anything, is it dead, does it need to be replaced etc. Use divination to guide you.

Catherine told me to just put everything in a new bag when i told her it came damaged but im not sure if she realized i had already activated it. does that matter? can i just rebag it myself or should i call the shop about it? The hole was in the bag already but i activated it anyway. its a small hole from a rabbit claw, nothing leaks out so i guess im really asking if thats effecting the bags power. It has never been seen or touched. its possible someone touched it through my clothing but never directly. It's also technically possible it was seen without my knowledge. Divination says its still alive, what can i do to get it back to full strength assuming its been weakend?

If it is a small hole, you can patch it, but a second bag to cover the first bag is probably the better idea. Folks have been putting worn cloth bags into fresh bags for a hundred years at least.

Good luck.

Thank you Mrs. Catherine. When you told me to do that before I misunderstood you and thought you were telling me to empty the contents of the bag into a new bag.
If I work under the assumption that it's weekend because somebody either saw it or touched it through my clothing but not directly (that wouldn't kill it would it?) What can I do to get it working for me again? I read in the art of making Mojo's to chew some grains of paradise and then put whiskey in your mouth and spit that on it so I'm going to do that but is there anything else I can do also?
Y'all are so helpful and I really appreciate all of the advice.

I have three questions. One, I was thinking about getting some ethically sourced human finger bones for a lucky 13 and a crown of success Mojo. Would they be a good addition in these two instances?

Secondly, I have a mojo from Miss cats shop. It’s a year and a half old and needs to be remade. Did the paper that came with it contain a list of all the ingredients so I can remake it properly?

Lastly, could my signature be updated or reflect that I’m a graduate of the course. I wasn’t sure the proper place to ask.

Hi, Hindhru --

To your questions:

1. Yes, a human finger bone would be traditional in either such mojo.

2. The paper that comes with each mojo does list all of the ingredients.

3. Siva seems to have overlooked updating your account here. I updated your sig-line and group membership, but he will have to update your avatar. He will be getting to it this afternoon and by the time you see this, it may be fixed.
