Psychometry: What It Is and How to Improve Your Gift for It
Hi,
I am looking for someone to do a reading on a photograph (or two) that was taken recently.
It's really important as I am going through such a difficult time right now. I can't afford a lot...but anyone who can help with this will be greatly appreciated. Please contact me. Thank you.

I am not quite sure how a psychometry reading works. Do I need to prepare questions for the reader in advance or does the reader just pick up the energies of the people in the photograph and then tells you their impressions?
Thank you for any information you can provide

Re: Psychometry: What It Is and How to Improve Your Gift for It
Thank you so much for your response and I did already read that link about psychometry. I have an appointment with you next week cat which is a psychometry / tarot reading combo and I just want to make sure I am totally prepared and do my part for whatever you might need from me so I wasn't sure if I needed to have questions prepared for you on the psychometry part of the reading.
Thank you again for your response

Re: Psychometry: What It Is and How to Improve Your Gift for It
Miss Cat, I read on your AIRR page that I should send photos by the postal mail. Because don't have access to a printer I asked when making my appointment if I could email the photos. I was told I could and I did. Is this OK? Should I ship some personal concerns of myself and my target(s)?
I'm also curious to know if you would like to see the results of a tarot reading I did for myself Friday night/Saturday morning.
I'm really excited for my appointment and I want to take a moment to praise the customer service at Lucky Mojo. I can't recall the name of the lady who helped me but she really was nice and made me feel comfortable and oh, so glad about everything!

When sending photos for a psychometry reading, either as attachments to email or as printed papers, it helps if you supply a clear view of the person's face. They should not be wearing sunglasses. A portrait that includes their hands increases reading opportunities, as does a full-body portrait.

Re: Psychometry: What It Is and How to Improve Your Gift for It
When scheduling a psychometry readinng with photographs, if you wish to know about a relationship, include a photo of the person with birthdate, a photo of you with birthdate, and, if at all possible, a photo of the two of you together. Unposed photos are better than studio portraits for the purposes of reading.
The same goes for families -- a few solo photos, some pairs or trios, and a group photo or two will complete the possibilities for reading. Casual photos are better than formal portraits, although wedding portraits often tell quite a story

Re: Psychometry: What It Is and How to Improve Your Gift for It
If you are interested in divination and fortune-telling by Psychometry, please start by reading this informative web page which i wrote for free distribution at AIRR:
http://readersandrootworkers.org/wiki/C ... sychometry
Here you will learn about the two basic branches of psychometry
* Reading objects that once belonged to or were held by someone (also called remanance, among dowsers)
* Reading photographs as personal concerns (also called photopsychometry).
Next, hop on over to the archived Lucky Mojo Hoodoo Rootwork Hour radio show of 6/21/20, in which i dealt fairly extensively with the topic, accompanied by my colleagues ConjureMan Ali, Jon Saint Germain, and Dr. Jeremy Weiss. While listening, you can also follow along with the chatlog, supplied by nagasiva yronwode. Both the archived audio link and the chatlog are here:
Lucky Mojo Hoodoo Rootwork Hour - June 21, 2020 - Photopsychometry
http://forum.luckymojo.com/lmhrhour-cha ... 93567.html
Accompanying the radio show are five sample photographs to look at while listening to the show, and to practice on while developing sensitivity in photopsychometry
1) Lionel Atwill, an actor who took advantage of his asymmetrical face for character roles:
https://www.luckymojo.com/lionel-atwill-asymmetry.jpg
2) A woman with an extremely symmetrical face
https://www.luckymojo.com/smiling-woman ... l-face.jpg
3) A snuggling, hugging, laughing couple
https://www.luckymojo.com/clingy-couple.jpg
4) A couple in which man is pulling away and woman is trying to hold him:
https://www.luckymojo.com/couple-pulling-away.jpg
5) A defensive woman with a baby, standing in her kitchen:

After having read and listened and looked, if you have any questions, just ask them in this thread.

Re: Psychometry: What It Is and How to Improve Your Gift for It
Hi Miss Cat, I’m curious to know if it’s common when you are intensely focused on a picture, to start to sort of see subtle movements in it. Eyebrows raising slightly, that sort of thing. I’ve also noticed emotional expressions, or my perception of them, changing. For example, I have a photo where I thought the subject was sort of blushing like he was embarrassed to have his photo taken, but when I focused on it, he looked sad like he was about to cry.

Re: Psychometry: What It Is and How to Improve Your Gift for It
RisenRaven,
You have exactly honed in on the metaphysical aspect of photopsychometry. It goes far beyond postures and gestures -- when i go into that light trance state, the faces are subtly time-dimensional, moving as if "completing" the gesture such as an eyebrow lift of a smile expansing or being cut off.
We are talking about casual, slightly posed snapshots, for the most part, but, as you have noticed, yes indeed, when you take a deeper, more intuitive look at them, the people's faces shift and you can see glimpses of other emotions and body-states, some of which they had not chosen to reveal. When this happens, the bland photos reveal people who may be physically ill, smug, joyous, sad, confused, frightened, self-protective, about to cry, very angry, proud, greedy, loving, sexually aroused, ambitious, suicidal, cruel, embarrassed, pathetic, contemptuous, kindly, insecure, hungry, or even just undeveloped children trapped in adult bodies -- a wide array of emotions that can shift and move across their faces.
Congratulations on "getting" it. So few people really do. The gift for this work is very similar to the gift for mediumship. You shift out of normal consciousness and connect with people through this small record of light that reflected off their faces. When their faces start to "move," that's when you know you are connecting,
The next step inward, which i mentioned on the radio show, and which you may be on the verge of moving into, is when you start to talk to them and can ask questions of them, and they will answer: "How do you feel about getting married?" "Will you be returning to Tennessee?" "Do you love and care for your step-son?" This is true psychometric mediumship. It works with photos of the dead as well as the living.
Note also that some photos, due to the venue at which they were taken, or the hardened preparedness of the subject (especially young women wearing a lot of makeup who have taken a class or two in modelling) are difficult to read. They knew that the photo would be taken and they hardened themselves against it, freezing a deliberately selected expression on their faces, usually what i call "the practiced smile." This is why i ask clients for three photos -- one each of the two parties (client and other) alone, and one of the two together or in a family group. That way i have a better chance of "connecting" with one of the photos. Oh, and this is also why photos of people wearing sunglasses are difficult to read -- you cannot establish eye-contact with the subject.
Good luck with psychometry -- try reading the remanence on some items at an antique store next (no photos, just objects).

This is fascinating. I haven’t “heard” any answers yet, just seen visual responses to things I say. I’ve only been trying this since the radio show episode so maybe I do have an unexpected gift for it! Thank you!

I have noticed that using (or trying to use) this skill makes me very tired. Can you recommend any books on managing spiritual energy or anything else that might help?

Hi RisenRaven,
Developing and utilizing psychic abilities can be draining. I can't think of any books off the top of my head, but what helps me tremendously are engaging in restorative energy practices. I practice Chi Kung and Yoga to keep my energy well regulated. Staying hydrated is extremely important as well-water is conductive
If you work with roots, I've found Ginseng & Master root to be helpful for staving off energetic burnout.

Re: Psychometry: What It Is and How to Improve Your Gift for It
Hi, Evan, your mention of Ginseng and Master Root for "staving off energetic burnout" was excellent!
To this i would add broken dried Ginger, whole Cloves, dried Licorice root, dried Orange Rind, Cinnamon bark, and dried Peony Root. Mix as a potpourri and take a whiff! You can also brew this blend as a tea and use it to wash your divining tools or drink it.
A tea blend that is AMAZING for clearing out psychic cruft and renewing the spirit of a psychic medium is Georges Ohsawa Mu Tea blend, a 16-herb Japanese blend that draws from Asian traditional medicine formularies and was developed by Ohsawa as part of his Macrobiotic diet. It contains some incredibly energizing herbs, again including Ginseng, Licorice, Cinnamon, and others. I have drunk this tea since the 1960s during my work as a psychometrist and tarot card reader and there is nothing quite like it. It can be blended with Green Tea (or Black Tea) for a caffeine lift, as well, if you roll that way. .
Here are the ingredients in Mu Tea. (And by the way, the word "mu" means both "emptiness" and "unique.")
1. Japanese Peony root (Paeonia lactiflora),
2. Moutan Peony root (Paeonia moutan),
3. Japanese Parsley root a.k.a. Mitsuba (Cryptotaenia japonica, related to Parsnips and Parsley)
4. Poria a.k.a. Hoelen (Poria cocos, a mushroom that grows on trees)
5. Chinese Cinnamon,
6. Licorice,
7. Peach kernels,
8. Ginseng root,
9. Rhemannia a.k.a. Chinese Foxglove (R. glutinosa, NOT related to Foxglove a.k.a. Digitalis),
10. Ginger root,
11. Mandarin Orange rind,
12. Cnidium root (Cnidium officinale, related to Parsnips and Parsley),
13. Atractylodes (Atractylodes spp., an Asian plant in the Sunflower / Daisy / Aster family),
14. Cyperus (Cyperus spp., a genus of Papyrus or Sedge),
15. Cloves (Eugenia caryophyllata),
16. Coptis a.k.a. Goldthread or Canker Root (in the Ranunculus family, related to Golden Seal)
Luckily for us, we do not to hunt up all of these Asian herbs -- just go online and type in "Ohsawa Mu Tea" -- the recipe is public, not trademarked, and there are quite a few reputable suppliers.

Re: Psychometry: What It Is and How to Improve Your Gift for It
Here's how to prepare for a photopsychometry reading:
1) Book and pre-pay for your reading with an AIRR member who is listed in the psychometry section at AIRR:
Category:Psychometry: https://www.readersandrootworkers.org/w ... sychometry
2) Send photos for your psychometry reading to the reader's email or other contact address -- and include your name, the names of the people in the photos, and the date of your reading in your message.
3) On the day of the reading, make sure that you too have access to the photos, so you can follow along with what your reader tells you. If your reader is willing to teach you as well as read for you, getting photopsychometry readings can also open the doors to your own gifts for this fascinating form of divination.
Good luck!

Re: Psychometry: What It Is and How to Improve Your Gift for It
I have one client who emails up to date photos 5 minutes before each reading. I love that!
Miss Cat is definitely the one to go to for coaching in this fascinating work...

I can attest to Miss Cat's amazing ability to read photographs, among other things! She is truly a wealth of knowledge in this fascinating topic!
You have no idea how much fun I have with my mother when, after a consultation with Miss Cat, we look through pictures to find body gestures and other characteristics of people on photographs. The analysis goes from posture to positions in regard to all body parts, as well as clothing explanations.

Re: Psychometry: What It Is and How to Improve Your Gift for It
I am growing more and more fascinated with psychometry. One question that out of nowhere popped into my mind:
Can psychometry work on small children (or even babies)? Is it possible to feel the temperament, other details and even future inclinations by analyzing photographs even at young ages, say 8 to 12?

Yes, speaking only for myself, i can read the emotions and temperaments of children after they are able to hold their heads up. Prior to that they seem to me to be too unformed and unaware to convey much feeling. By the time they are standing up as toddlers they can be read pretty well, and at 8 to 12 they are generally easy to read, about as well as adults. Watch especially how their posture and stance relates to parents, siblings, friends, or teachers in a group photo.

What I do is I imagine myself in the object, understand its physical and spiritual make up, and go from there. I apply this technique to people too.

Using Psychic Vision products while doing this work can greatly enhance the work, such as burning a candle with the oil while doing the work, burning the incense, dressing with the sachet powder, or sprinkling it around the work area.
