I hope I've found the correct category to place this question...
What do we do with the candle remains of a 4" HEALING candle? The candle was inscribed with the name of my sick (physically and mentally) Mother, as well as some uplifting words appropriate to the spell and dressed (inward to draw health) with Healing oil along with Van Van Sachet powder. I placed the candle (in a candle holder) atop a small piece of fabric which I cut to size, wrote my mother's name on the bottom of and also dressed with healing oil. The burn went well, but, the cloth beneath the candle (per my assumption) soaked up the liquid wax produced by the candle. What do I do with it? I collected the rest of the wax on the candle holder with the cloth while it was still liquid and then crumpled the cloth up. The wax has since hardened, the cloth "frozen in time" encased in blue healing candle wax. Bury it? where? Throw it in the river? What is done with remains of healing work?
Thanks everyone.

Hello, TrynaKnowNGorw,

Everything you've described sounds normal.

If calling for good health, I would bury it in her front yard. If it's to keep health, I would bury it in her backyard. If there's a tree in the yard, that's even better.

Therefore, you would want to bury it in her front yard.

Not to say that your spell didn't work. But, I am concerned about the intensity of her illness. You might want to consider a healing miracle vigil candle. Take a look at this:

www.luckymojo.com/candle-healing-miracle.html

I hope things turn out well for your Mother. And, especially for you because I personally know what the family members go through. It's emotionally and physically exhausting and people don't realize what a toll it takes on our health. Take care of yourself and your health first.

Wishing you the very best

Very helpful, Miss Aida. Thank you very much!

And, you're right. It is indeed taking its toll. Though, I want my mother to be well (I don't wish anyone to suffer) I would be lying if I said a certain measure of this spell isn't selfish in nature. I just wish it to benefit all involved, her health, both physically and mentally, would bring a certain level of well being to many people.

An issue I am having with the burying of it in HER yard, is that we live almost 2 hours apart, now. She recently moved and we (my fiance and I) have moved in and taken over mortgage payments on the house she moved from. Though my mother is aware of my practices, she doesn't feel comfortable "dabbling" in it herself and likewise, has no clue I've preformed this service for her. Is there an alternative method for the remains, in a case such as this?

Thanks kindly, again, for your kind words of understanding.

Blessings!

Sure, you can bury it near a tree (just remember to pay the tree).
And, there are other means of disposal. Just check out the thread on disposals.
Good luck.

Hello everyone, I was just wondering when burning a 4 inch candle on average how long does it usually take. Usually it takes me at least 4 hours ... Someone told me their candles burn out within an hr or so. Was wondering if this was because it's just the way the spell is working?

Usually the flame is nice and bright with no smoke. Just takes awhile for such a little candle.

Thanks :)

YemayaOshun,

It is possible. If I remember the thickness of the 4" Altar Candles they can have an approximate two to two and a half hour burn time. So if it is taking four hours would be something to take into consideration of signs of your work. A slow burn, depending on the work of course, can be an indication of challenges and complications on your goal.

4" Black Candles

Is there anything "wrong" with burning a 4" black candle daily for a week to 10 days, to get rid of
darkness or negativity in one's life?

Just curious as I have read the color black is powerful and shouldn't be used daily, while other people use it to filter negativity.

Wondering what other people's experience with black candles have been.

Hi stargirl,

Burning a series of black candles dressed with an oil like Cast Off Evil, Run Devil Run, or Banishing -- or a blend of them -- will displl evil.

You mentioned a run of 10, but traditionally a run of 3 (the minimum run, lit on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), a run of 7 (for luck, set on the seven days of one week), a run of 8 (called a sacred octave), a run of 9 (called a novena), or a run of 13 (to reverse bad luck) would be more appropriate.

Write your petition clearly on a small slip of paper for each candle. Inscribe the candle with your wish, dress it with the blended oils, and as you light each candle, place the slip of paper under it. Before the candle goes out, remove the paper and set it alight. Be careful with fire safety!

One way to burn the slips of paper is to have a charcoal tablet and some appropriate incense burning -- the slips can be dropped into the incense bowl or brazier as they burn. The incense could be either a resin, such as Frankincense, a powder, such as Banishing, or some herbs, such as Agrimony and Patchouli -- or you could make your own blend of the three incenses that match the three oils.

Good Luck!

I burned a 4" white candle with 9 black threads tied around it to break my targets will. (Next to it I also burned a candle representing myself dressed with commanding oil and do as I say.) It sort of worked... He sent me a bitchy email today asking me to name my terms. I was going to do it again tonight, but I dropped his candle and it broke.

Is this a bad sign (like, I'm actually breaking him) or a good sign (I don't need to burn another candle because his will is broken) or no sign at all? Wondering what y'all would think about that as I searched the forums and didn't find anything. Thanks!

Oh also I was considering burning it anyway because the wick is holding it together. Any thoughts on that?

Definitely sounds to me like you're breaking his will.

And I LOVE the idea of you burning it anyway!!

Excellent idea!

Ok, I have another question about these two candles for the will-breaking spell - hope this is not too long or involved for the topic of this thread.

On the second night I was working on him (no data from the first night because I was so tired I just fell alseep, I know, bad witch!), his flame was leaning hard towards my candle and my flame was leaning hard away from his, which sounds about right. His burned faster than mine, with a shorter flame, but it took forever to go out.

So I'm doing it again today, and it's a similar pattern -- his is burning faster, mine is taller, and is sparkling and crackling a lot. His is bouncing around like he's being affected. But most of this burn his flame has been tipped away from mine. Some of the time they were both tipped away from each other, and some of the time my flame was tipping toward his while his was tipping away.

i'm making some pretty heavy demands of him (partially because he's such a pain in the ass that I have to spend days burning candles on him lol), and if he refuses to meet them I'm going to have to cut and clear because he's wasting my time, so I want to make extra sure that this is going to work before I send them to him. That being said, I did a reading on it last night and it said that this is an unpleasant wakeup call for him but he's going to give in, it's going to result in more financial stability for me, and allow me the travels in the Spring that I've been praying for.

I guess my question is, with his flame leaning away, I read that as his bad attitude. I want NO attitude in his next response to me. I want him to be humble. Do I just keep repeating this night after night until his resistance is gone or should I switch to a different oil on my candle (or his?) The thing is, I DON'T want to encourage his romantic or sexual feelings so I'm not sure what would work as an attitude adjustment.

I don't recall seeing which oils you're using oneword, but Essence of Bend Over or Do As I Say along with Pay Me would be a good combination to keep up the work with given what you've explained.

I was curious, the chime candles here are Black Cat brand - is that an existing brand that is manufactured somewhere, or where do they come from? I didn't really find much information googling 'Black Cat brand candles'.

Hello, Naexis,

Black Cat Brand Candles was an old brand in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s -- but the company that marketed them has long gone out of business, so we took up the name.

Thanks for asking.

I remember Black Cat Candles even into the 1960s and 1970s. They were made in Chicago, but they went off the market many years ago.

In the book "The Art of Hoodoo Candle Magic" there is a picture of the label, which Lucky Mojo uses to this day.

Hello, Naexis,

Black Cat is the name we use at Lucky Mojo for all of our free-standing candles in 4", 6", and 9" sizes. We sell them singly and by the dozen. You get a nice discount when you buy a dozen.

The 4" blue candles are actually a light blue, not the dark blue as shown in the pictures. The blue 4" candles are the same blue as this blue Master Hand candle: http://www.luckymojo.com/candle-master-hand-blue.html

Hello everyone I'm juanita.happy to be here in this forum

Please I need urgent attention.

1) I just order 3 black cat pink candles which I will be lightening for 3 days or I don't know can they last up to 7 days.

2) I will also be using some attraction oil, lavender, rose bud, Jasmine herb to surround each pink candle.

3) Can I use the candle and the herb for my bath, after lighting it for 3 days or more than that

4) And if I can, would a 1 day bath, on the last day of lighting the candle be enough Spiritual bath?

Thanks
Best regard..

Hello red apple,

Welcome to the forum :)

1) If you have 3 small pink candles you can make them last for 7 days by lighting them Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. With larger candles, like the 9" Jumbos, you can burn them in sections, for 15 minutes a day.

2) Yes, you can place the love herbs in a ring around the candle.

3) Yes, you can then use those herbs later to brew tea for a love bath.

4) Yes, one bath is fine, either at the beginning of your candle run or at the end.

Best of luck to you.

Sorry Sister Jean if I am not sure. It is just my first time.

I bought the pink candle, the one to put on candle holder.

I mean what would I do with the candle and the lavender, rose buds, jasmine, Queen Elizabeth root, which I will be using to put around the candle during prayer and after the 3-7 days of lighting the candle?

Would it be OK to add the remnants (candle wax, lavender, rose buds, jasmine) in bath water and shower with it? Or what?

I am not asking about the spiritual bath to use while burning candle, because I already have, Stay With Me crystal bath salts, and Love Me crystal bath salts.

Hello red apple,

Since it sounds like you're doing some love work, you' have three choices:

1) You can add the herbs to your bath -- but do not add the candle wax becaue that is messy.

2) You can take the prepared baths as you described and wrap the herbs in a cloth and hide it behind or under your bed to keep the person coming to or staying at your home.

3) You can want to take all the remnants from the candle spell (the leftover wax and all the herbs you used), wrap them in a little cloth packet and bury the packet in your front yard, orr if you don't have a front yard, in a potted plant on your front steps to draw the person to your home..

You can read more about disposing of spell remnants here:

http://www.luckymojo.com/layingtricks.html

You can read more about spiritual bathing here:

Good luck to you.

Hello all,
I’m using the 9” candle for a block buster and just had a quick question to make sure I’m on the right path. The spell says to write all over candle and I understand that part. I just wanted to know would I be writing from the wick to the base or do I simply write until I cover the candle with my petition? Thank you for your time and patience. Best

Hello birainluv,

Generally, you carve a candle from the wick to the base for situations (or people) you are trying to remove from your life. Carve from the base up to the wick for anything or anyone you wish to draw to you.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

This book also contains great information on free-standing candles:

The Guiding Light to Power and Success by Mikhail Strabo, edited by Catherine Yronwode

This ground-breaking work was originally sold via ads in Black-owned newspapers, and it opened up a nation-wide conversation on the increasing importance of conjure work with candles. The author was a participant-observer and documentarian who respectfully verified the sources of his information from workers in the African-American Spiritual Church Movement, to compile a complete manual of home and church altar candle services for use in churches and by home practitioners. This famous hoodoo grimoire contains more than 50 candle and lamp spells for protection, love, wealth, and luck. Now, with 32 additional illustrated pages by editor catherine yronwode, The Guiding Light is back in print, bigger and better than ever.

This video teaches many old-school ways to perform candle spells and devotions, based on Catherine Yronwode's newly revised, expanded, and illustrated edition of Mikhail Strabo's famed 1942 course in candle-magic, "The Guiding Light to Power and Success: A Study of the Use of Candles in the Search for the Truth." This is the fifth book in the "Lucky Mojo Library of Occult Classics," a project that preserves and presents rare mid-20th century texts on traditional "drug store hoodoo."

Re: 4" Altar Light, 6" Offertory, and 9" Jumbo Candle Questions and Answers

Unread post by missr » Mon Mar 20, 2023 11:12 am

Hello All,

Please forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong section. I did my best in finding the appropriate thread.

I've been burning lucky mojo 4" candles on a jar spell that has a metal lid. I always trim the wick before lighting the candles, and the burns are going well until the very end where there is too much wick and only a small amount of wax. What inevitably happens is that the long wick flops on its side, and the very end of the candle that looks almost like a button then bleeds. I suspect that the heat from the candles on the metal lid are playing a role in the slightly messy conclusion of an otherwise fortuitous seeming burn. Does anyone have any advice or thoughts on the matter? I'm eager to boost the effectiveness of this spell and ensure, to the best of my abilities, my desired outcome.

Thank you,

missr

missr --

You are exactly right -- the limits of physics and natural science are defining the way your candles burn. The metal lid is conducting heat.

What you WANT the outcome to me is achievable -- simply add a proper candle holder between the candle and the lid. Small porcelain and metal holders do exist.

Or, accept the dripping wax pattern as a divination -- learn to read the flows of wax. Look at the bars surrounding the paper prisoner doll in the striped uniform in this court case jar!

Or let the wax build up in varied colours and patterns and read that as an ongoing form of work.

All of these methods are legit.

missr ,

You can find star candle holders on the Lucky Mojo site, which can be used on top of a container spell, such as a honey jar.

Candle Holders: https://www.luckymojo.com/mojocattools.html#holders

I also suggest this book by Miss Cat on candle magic, which is filled with tips, tricks, and advice on reading candle wax.
