I ordered a vigil candle in July, got the email confirmation on 7/23. How long would the candle report take?

It has just been a little over 2 weeks.

It could be a really busy time, but I just want to make sure I didn't lose an email.

After a candle is burned they are collected by the candle reader who then reads them and types up the reports. It can take several days to get a report typed up and sent out. The candle reader often takes cases of candles at a time and reads them.

I am the Candle Reader.

It usually takes about a month to get a report, but can occasionally take a bit longer if we are particularly backed up.

It takes 7 - 10 days for a candle to finish burning (sometimes even longer for particularly stubborn candles! We have one on the alter from June!). They then wait to be read, which can take another few weeks or more, depending on how many candles are in line.

We are a very tiny operation with a handful of trained staff, including only one dedicated Reader and a very part-time back-up, handling the candles to ensure they receive the proper care. I typically read candles on Thursdays.

Curious: Does MISC set lights for people when Mercury is retrograde, or wait till it goes direct? The reason I ask is that cat says in "Astrology for Rootworkers" (which is excellent, btw, and I recommend it to friends and students):

"The old adage is 'Anything started while Mercury is retrograde will have to be done over or done twice, or fixed right after it is done.' I have seen the truth of this many dozes of times. I was taught not to start a new run of candles or a new project when Mercury is retrograde, and I carry that advice as golden."

Personally, I also avoid setting new lights when Merc is retro and when the Moon is Void (or obstructed).

That's a good question, and the answer is that we set lights when requested -- because folks may need a light for a court date or a test, and there is no point in delaying the burn.

However, that being said, just today i did a tarot card reading for a woman who was going to be applying for post graduate work at two different academic institutions and i told her how to do the work -- and to delay until after December 15th, since there was no fixed deadline and Mercury will be retrograde until December 15th this year (2024).

In other words, urgency and timeliness may demand a candle lighting during Mercury retrograde or when the Moon is void of course, but if time is not under constraint, i recommend that clients ask us to set lights on a better day.

Hi,
I had two candles set for me at MISC in mid-February (ordered on 02/13). I believe these had a very positive outcomes in my life so far, but I never received the candle reading reports for them. Is there a way to find out how lomg the queue is to receive them? Again, I know these candles have greatly helped me and know in my heart that they have, so I have no problem with however long the wait is. I am just genuinely interested in the interpretation of the burn.
