Reversing is what we do when under continued spiritual attack, where a simple cleansing and protection effort may not be enough. We employ it for our own benefit, to rid ourselves of someone else's directed evil. Therefore it is positive work, and I would keep it on that appropriate (positive) altar.

Thanks Miss Athena, I've already done this one and it was a mess. 9 hour candle burnt down completely in 2 hours, and left wax everywhere. I really did not expect that!

WOW that isa fast burn of a candle. Often means that it was successful but it may not last long because of how quick it went. You would want to repeat and continue to protect yourself. Try reading the wax for symbols and meanings.

Thanks JayDee, yeah I have the candle magic book.
It was a really really fast burn and I honestly thought it would burn clean. There was only oils on the candle so nothing that could have caught and caused such a fast burn down.

I took the advice earlier in the thread and made the petition general so as to attack all possible problems and not just the one I am sure of so I'm guessing there was more happening than I was aware of.

All of the black wax was to the left and most of the red to the right so that is a positive sign however the black also flooded over the red at the base of the candle (does that make sense? should have been a red stub but it was all covered in black) so when it should have been working on drawing in it was still working on reversing - not so much a good sign, and definitely still have much more work to do.

You could set your candles on a mirror, which is traditional.

Crab shell powder is also traditional in reversing spells, so I would suggest that you use it.

Will following up a reversal candle with a mirror box keep them from sending it back again (of course backed up with Fiery Wall of Protection)?

And I know the instructions on the site say to break the mirror with a hammer wishing bad luck on your enemy, but is it less than, better or the same to put the remains in running water?

Doing a mirror box spell in conjunction with your reversing candle supplements the work by keeping their evil to themselves and away from you so yes, you could do that.

Personally, I like to bury a mirror box in a graveyard. It's the traditional way to work.

Good afternoon to all, and thank you for your contributions to this forum. I'm doing a reversing spell on one of my daughter's co-workers, to send what she gives out back to her. She is making rude comments and hateful remarks to my daughter and spreading rumors to others in the company, about my daughter. This has been going on for several months. It has my daughter so stressed that the doctor told her she's on the verge of serious medical condition if things aren't resolved soon. I have reversing powder, reversing oil, crab shell powder and everything else I need for the spell. My question is, I have a reversing female candle that I will be using (black on the outside and red on the inside). Am I correct in thinking I would still reverse the candle (turn the candle upside down and burn it from the bottom to the top of the head)? Also, would it be wise to make a few runlets in bottom of the candle so excess wax won't form and snuff out the flame? Thanks for your input.

I think a reversing candle spell would work well for the situation. However, I don't believe Lucky Mojo sells a reversing figural candle. This forum is to advise customers on the use of Lucky Mojo products and so I cannot give any help full suggestions on how to burn that candle. Personally I haven't seen one and don't know if it possible. The wick might not go all the way thru to the bottom, the candle might tip over if upside down, I really don't know.

You could also work a black skull candle on the co-worker and stuff its mouth full of nasty thinks. Alum powder is a definite!

Thank you, Terra Rising. The female figurine candle, black on outside and red on inside, was given to me. I have bought many items from Lucky Mojo and love them. There are none better. Although people know my preferred source is Lucky Mojo, I was given a few candles, as birthday and Christmas gifts, from somewhere I'm not familiar with. This is why I was wondering if it could be used. I purchase from Lucky Mojo and no, I have not seen a candle like this either on their site. As an HRCC Graduate, I've come to trust and rely on Lucky mojo products. I do appreciate your input.

I can tell you are a graduate from the name color and your student number that still appears in your signature block, you are far ahead of me! Well met.

While It does sound interesting and the colors do sound correct with the red being on the inside and black on the outside. My main concern would be butting the candle and having it tip over and ruin the work or having to dig deep to find the wick on the bottom. If these are non issues, then I would press on.

There is something to be said about working with figural candles over pillar for reversing and cursing. Since the target is a rude gossip, it would be very satisfying to take a candle holder, place the crab shell powder and Reversing powder in the bottom and shove her head in it. Best of luck!

Wow! Thank you for that suggestion!! Shoving her head in the crab shell powder, as well as circle of crab shell powder and rolling the candle in it, sounds like the perfect manner to do it!! Oh, I can just see the results of THAT! LOL. Because of medical issues, I only work as necessary, these days. My daughter says my workings are something to be afraid of as they always work. In fact, I did workings for this same woman, about a year ago, and she saw results within a month. I guess she forgot what I do. LOL. I've done a poppet, to keep her at bay until I do the reversing spell, and it is working quite nicely. In fact, the spell I'm doing now was actually on the Lucky Mojo Hoodoo Rootwork Hour: Moving People In and Out w/ Sister Girl aired on 10/6/19. I'm adjusting it to fit my daughter's situation.. I listen to the Rootwork Hour every week. Gotta love Ms Cat and her guests.

I don't know who "this lady" is, so can't vouch for her credibility as a practitioner. That said, the advice you got does not track with traditional hoodoo practice (which is the focus of this forum). For example, we do not use nicknames, but full birth names to identify our targets.

I've seen folks talk on this forum about using a double action candle to reverse off any work done on them by carving something along the lines of "enemies known and unknown" opposing their own name. Out of curiosity, would the opposite (or "reverse", har har) be doable? Say the target is a manipulative, bullying, abusive, or sadistic type and has hurt a lot of people, some of whose names you know, some you don't. If you're doing reversal work on them for yourself or another, wouldn't it be plausible to rain down all their nasty at once while you're at it? Anyone have thoughts/experience on carving something like "all those you've hurt, known and unknown" opposing the name of the target?

Hello everyone!

I want to clarify one thing I am not sure I understood correctly. One of my friends started to act very irrationally and got involved with a person that all of us friends kinda in shock of. In ane case, I did divination and it looks that my friend got love-jinxed. He became very distant from many friends and he started drinking a lot, it looks like he lost clarity... not a pleasant view.

In this type of situation can I do a double action candle to reverse that love-jinx that was placed on him and bring him back his clarity without telling him that? If I tell him - I assume he would not believe in it, because he doesn't listen to anyone but her right now.

Please advise, if it is ok to do it behind his back or should i do it from my perspective towards her? Because at the end of the day I lost a good friend to a jinx that was placed on him.

When we say someone is love jinxed or jinxed in love, we usually mean that the person has some kind of small curse or blockage that is keeping them from finding a love partner. This situation sounds more like he is tied and bound by a negative partner. I would do break up work first and then a reversing candle to send the mess back to her. Also, it is fine to do this work without permission or them knowing. People coming from other traditions/religions some times like to make up special "rules" in order to dictate their beliefs upon others. Permission isn't a rule in hoodoo. I very much doubt a slave would ask her master's permission to influence him for more money or even to heal the master's baby. The work was just done.

Clarity is a work that you can do separately. I recommend having him come into contact with the oil or powder but if that isn't possible any more, you could work with a white skull candle baptized for him. Load the candle with a picture or other personal concern and dress the skull candle with Clarity oil.

In Hoodoo we use condition oils on our candles, and also can add sachet powders and herbs. Why? Because the oils are made specific to create an affect by the organic material in them, thats why we see an oil called Love Me oil, it had ingredients known to cause someone to love you. Sachet powders are also made of organic material, adding them or dry herbs is called double dressing a candle, it adds those spiritual energies to the candle. With prayer, petition, asking the spirits to do your desired work, you set a candle in motion to create a change in the spiritual and physical world. Burning incense while doing the work adds that element to the air and sets the mood. A long answer to your question is yes we do add specific oil. A Reversing candle is prepared a specific way, in which the symbolism in preparing it is also added energy to the work. Example you flip the candle over and carve a new tip, symbolic of reversing the work, you carve the condition on the black part backwards (mirror writing) symbolic to reversing, you dress the black part with reversing oil, wiping away from you, symbolic to reversing. The white side is carved with what you are bringing to you, this is burned last, as the bad burns off of you now the white burns on to you, this is carved normal as it is coming to you, you dress it with condition oil related to the work as you rub the oil on it facing you, if a white candle it may be blessing, or another positive type oil, this is symbolic to sending it to you.

Apologies, I tried to edit. I am still a little confused and hoping for some clarity.

I have just purchased a double action red/black candle. I had thought to add some attraction oil to the red part but reading this thread and the spell on the website it is recommended to use Reversal oil on both the coloured part (red in this instance) and the black part.

However the post above suggests to use Reversal oil on the black part only whilst using an appropriate condition oil on the non-black part.

So I'm a little confused. I had thought to use attraction oil on the red part initially but then thought it may be redundant for this particular candle used with the Reversal Oil. Now I'm not so sure.

Can anyone please clarify?

In a reverse candle, the tip would be cut off, the candle flipped over and a new tip cut out. You would dress the black with reversing to send the evil away, then the red part with love oil to bring that to you.

So it mentions nothing about using a separate oil. Perhaps the answer is that both methods are appropriate?

You can use one, you can use two, and you can use a combination of oils.

I use two oils on Double-action candles, and roll them in 2 different mixtures. On the black half, I carve My Enemy backward so it is YM3N3 YM with the last Y right about halfway mark. I carve the name of the person to uncross cross from base to halfway on the red area. I put either Reversing incense or Uncrossing incense on a piece of paper, then put Reversing Oil on the black half starting in the middle and going downward. I roll the candle in Reversing Incense. On the red side, I use a drawing or love oil, like Attraction, or Look Me Over. I pour one of the love incense on the paper and roll the red part of the candle in. I place the candle with the red side down into the candle holder. I put that candle holder on a mirror tile and lit the black side. I take the leftover incense and burn that as well. I have had amazing success.

You are looking for a one-size-fits-all, one-method response, when in reality there is many ways to do this work. The question is, which way do you want to do it, and does it fit in the contextual framework of the Hoodoo tradition?

Is dressing both sides with reversing traditional? yes
Is dressing one side with reversing the other side with the condition oil you select via love, luck, or money? Yes.
Can I burn it in different ways? Yes
Can I add more items to the work? Absolutely

For example:
You can flip the candle with a new top, burn it on a mirror, dressed with Agrimony, and Crab Shell powder.
You can add a new tip on one side, dress the candle, stick a nail or tack through a piece of wood, stick the center of the candle on that tack or nail, and burn both ends at the same time.
You can burn the candle on a candle holder on a petition or paper.

All of these methods are traditional, not one is more "right" or "wrong" than another.

Hi, I have another question. I have just butted my double action candle and carved a new tip. However I notice that the black half of the candle isn't a solid colour - it is only coated in black on the outside with red running through. Is this the norm? I thought the black part would be black all the way through...

Hi Iamtheowl,

Yes, most Double Action candles are just coated in black wax. If you have the chance to make candles, you will find out that if you try to fuse two candles to each other, it becomes the weak point and the candle will break. By having one solid candle coated in black wax as the outer layer it prevents breaking in the middle.

Hello, can a reversing candle be done on this situation instead of a cut & clear. I would like to know what if your not doing enemy reversing & you want to do reversing not only for letting go but other issues as well, like someone passing on & the living person is in pain, hurting, angry, confused & feels lonely or maybe a kid is skipping school & getting into mischief, having unprotected sex etc... just to reverse all the child's negative energy, how would you work reversing candles for these types of situations. I know to cut off the tip, do you still write the grieving person name backwards onto the black side from the center to the new tip & do you have to write the word reverse backwards on the candle to, is the list of conditions you want reversed written backwards also, I have read up on disobedient teens, but I was just thinking that burning a reversing candle on top of a jar for disobedient teens would send all that bad energy back into the universe , cut & clear, cast off evil, & banishing oils, can I use these three oils on the black side. On the white side the name is written regular, do I write "I want to be" ex: happy, joyful, out going etc...& use oils like healing , blessing, attraction

Thanks for all the information here. I’m looking at two candle reversal spells. One I think is more traditional, a little more hands on the free standing candle on a mirror, the other is a glass encased candle. Noted black on top, and dressed with reversal oil/herbs

Is the free standing candle more powerful? I guess it depends what you put into it and power builds over time with a glass vigil candle. I don’t want to do anything passive at this point

I’ve tried the slicing candle part before and found it difficult. Also disposing of remains like that I live in the city. But whatever works

The question of, "Is this more powerful" is frequently asked, the answer is it depends. There are too many factors to suggest one is more effective then another. I would consider the work you are doing.

A free standing candle burned on a mirror with Agrimony and Crab Shell powder then taken and buried in a graveyard is a powerful reversing.

A glass encased candle that is prayed over and set, that will burn 5-7days 24 hours is also a steady flow of energy.

Some people will combined them, do the double-action free standing, and set a glass encase to back up the work.
