AIRR Tech Team Report 4/8/2025 Colour Magic!

Image

The AIRR Tech Team put on their overalls and painted a new web page on Colour Magic! Whether in divination, spellcasting, or mystic rites by candle lights, colour symbolism adds meaningful associations, traditional significance, depth ,and focus to the workings. Catherine Yronwode wrote the page, with contributions from Mikhail Strabo and Rev. Adele Clemens. Catherine and Nagasiva Yronwode created and sourced the photographs and art. Lukianos and Papa Newt did proofreading and site-wide linking, and Nagasiva Yronwode created this graphic announcement. Check out our dazzling new page on Colour Magic!

The Colour Magic page is here:

We shall now move to social media, to share the Colour Magic page at the AIRR page on Facebook, here:

I had a good time working with the Tech Team on this brand new AIRR page. We all use colour magic, and here is where it is laid out in simple to understand terms.

Hi All. I have a few questions in regards to color magick. I know black is for banishing, orange is for road opening, green is for money and all things financial, red is for love... however, what are colors like light blue, dark blue, purple, white, pink, and yellow best for? There are conflicting things online which is why I am asking here as I trust Lucky Mojo

PrayPrepareProsper ,

You can read and learn about the basic colour meanings of common types of candles here: https://www.luckymojo.com/candlemagic.html#colour

For a really deep dive into the magical meanings of more shades of colours, like light blue versus dark blue, please see the Color Magic page that Miss Cat wrote for the readers and rootworkers of AIRR, here: https://readersandrootworkers.org/wiki/ ... lour_Magic

PrayPrepareProsper,

Of course, there are plenty of ignorant "authorities" on the internet who spread all kinds of wackiness, but one reason you may see varied meaning associated with the colours on the internet is that magical and therapeutic colour symbolism arose independently in different cultures and they have been somewhat independently applied to different sets of objects or ideas, such as candles, zodiac signs, or healing modalities. Over the years, these colour ascriptions have become more universalized, and have come to resemble one another more closely, but there are still embedded outliers in the lists of correspondences, and not all people adhere to a prismatic colour array.

The page i wrote on Colour magic -- https://readersandrootworkers.org/wiki/ ... lour_Magic -- goes into detail about these colour variations, and i think it may answer your concerns. However, if, after reading it, you still have questions, feel free to post them here and i will reply.

Best of luck!
