Hello, Rootworkers of the Lucky Mojo Form

I have been working on learning the celebrated art of Crystal Gazing, in the hope that it will help me further my contact with spirits. I have been practicing using the information I have learned from the Reverend Dr. Jon Saint Germain's book Crystal Magic, which has been very informative and in an easily digestible format that is easy to read and re-read, it also taught me of Leopard Skin Jasper which has helped me in my work as it corresponds well to Dionysus and Pan who (sometimes) wore Leopard Pelts.

I have been doing a slightly modified form of the suggested curriculum for a couple of weeks now and while my gazing hasn't led to any mystical visions yet, I have found that it is very relaxing and can see how trance states can be reached through focused gazing at a shiny surface for a long period of time.

I am using currently a large Obsidian Sphere and a small ball of Amethyst both of which I do feel very attuned to, are indeed intoxicatingly shiny, and I do feel that I can send projections and receptions through them, but they are both opaque. I think that this isn't a downside, but I would like to stare at the candle's flame through a Crystal Ball, so it would be helpful to buy a Glass Crystal Ball from Lucky Mojo as not only does the Reverend highly recommend them, but the much celebrated (if just as equally derided) Dr. John Dee and Sir Edmund Kelly used a Glass Crystal Ball in their famed angel communications.

I would click the buy button asap, if it wasn't for but one concern, I have heard a glass crystal ball can be a significant fire hazard and needs to be covered properly to avoid this. I cover my crystals under my altar (which is a large wooden desk, with storage space) with the altar cloth which is a red bedsheet and a small tapestry. I have not seen problems with these opaque reflective Crystal Balls, but would this be a hazard with a small "2 Clear Glass Crystal Ball without extra covering, and would any kind of covering cloth or bag (a "ball bag" if you will) help subvert this issue? My altar room has two windows, though they are curtained the room gets quite a bit of sun, I usually do my workings at night.

Hello, Impish Neophyte --

Glass balls are only a hazard if sun falls on them abd sends a focussed beam of light onto a flammable surface. A simple white handkerchief is enough to prevent the problem, or you can simply keep your ball in an area of the room where direct sunlight never shines, such as on a book case which has its back against on a South wall (if you are in the Northern hemisphere). Then you can reach up and take it down for use whenever you want.

I am very interested in scrying, I think it could improve my spirit work, however I have been attempting it for months and I'm not seeing any direct visible results. I have an Obsidian Ball, an Amethyst Ball, a Glass Ball, and an Obsidian Mirror from Mexico, I feel a strong connection to the obsidian especially, while I have not seen anything tangible in obsidian, I've seen a swirling darkness or fog, that I described in my notes as being like "boundless Erebus," I also have a great feeling of relaxation and comfort when I stare into obsidian, but no visions. I have seen visions in a candle's flame before, so I think that I am capable of scrying, I just haven't had any success with crystal gazing yet. I think there might be a couple of factors as to why, one is that I'm very scatterbrained (there is a more medical/psychological diagnosis for this, but I'll say scatterbrained here) and have trouble focusing on a singular point, I'm getting better at this through meditation, as well as medication, but my eyes are often drawn away from the crystal towards the incense or candles or statues on my altar, the other is that I probably spend too much time praying over the crystal from one of my books instead of gazing at it, I'm a very "Hocus Pocus" type of Magus, I obsess over speech and the power of prayer, and while these are good things, I worry that these prayers might often distract me from just gazing at the crystal. Also, I'm just now figuring out how to do meditative breathing properly (I got a copy of The Hindu Yogi Science of Breath last year and am utilizing it) and as I understand it, this is also important for scrying. A special thanks to the Reverend Dr. Jon Saint Germain, because without the book Crystal Magic, I would still be lost as to how to use crystals in my spellwork, I, indeed, have been using crystals in my spells, but no visions. I DO NOT ACCEPT that I cannot scry, and I don't want to find an "Edmund Kelley" to gaslight me into seeing and speaking to angels, what should I do, going foward? Thank you all in advanced.
