Has anyone petitoned St Joseph to find a job? My husband and I both relocated and need to find new jobs. I am going to use Steady work as well.

There is a special form of Saint Joseph known as Saint Joseph the Worker who is petitioned for job-getting.

Instead of the form where we simply see Saint Joseph holding the Baby Jesus, in the Worker form he may be seen at his carpenter's work bench, sometimes alone, but usually teaching Baby Jesus how to use the tools of the trade. There are also statues of Saint Joseph the Worker in which he holds a jug or bowl and is dressed in workman's clothing.

We sell BOTH types of Saint Joseph images at Lucky Mojo, but i personally tend to focus on Saint Joseph the Worker (and thus my shop carries these images) as my father was named Joseph and this was a familiar image to me through my Sicilian grandmother's fondness for it.

Yes I have worked with St. Joseph to get a job for a few friends. There is a prayer you can find online by typing " st. joseph for employment" I print out a picture of him, and give him some water with a yellow candle.

And let us not forget the traditional custom of petitioning Saint Joseph to sell a house or piece of land! While it is true that the old way to do this involves burying a statuette of Saint Joseph upside down on the property, in these days of global outreach, people who wish to sell a home long-distance and cannot dig up the front lawn, will often set Saint Joseph candles for aid and assistance. Or they may do both, burying the statue and lighting a candle at their home or at a sanctuary, to heat up the spell work and serve as a beacon of light to prospective buyers.

Hi everyone!

I hope that you are all having a great Valentines Day! So here's my situation.... I'm a stay at home mom, I love writing and when I was a kid I had wanted to become an author.. Eventually I did (2017) and have written two books and am currently working on a trilogy.. My family doesn't think very much about of me writing and keep telling me I need a "real" job and blah blah.. I have epilepsy and it's hit or miss, it seems to go dormant and lets me think that I'm finally winning and then it'll hit me out of no where... I've lost jobs, friends and relationships over it.. I can't work, the last time that I did I woke up with a knife besides me from having a random seizure while filleting salmon at work (I was preg so that made it extra scary.)

Anyways, I just started this week to apply for freelancing jobs as a writer, editor, proofreader and beta reader.. My friend hired me for a job that took three days to complete and paid me $50 for it because I exceeded her expectations. I thought it was awesome that she paid me $50 when I had told her I would only charge her $15 because she's a friend.. Then today I got a job proposal for writing an article which will pay $24 and if they like that article they'll hire me for higher paying jobs as well.. I sent out five other proposals to different people in the hopes that I get hired.. I need to show not only my family, but myself that I can make decent money out of writing. I need to show them that writing isn't just something silly that I do for fun. I want a steady paying job, but I also want to make cash quickly so that I can throw it in their faces.. I'll need to figure out how to juggle my novel writing with my freelance writing, but I know it won't be impossible to do it.

I was thinking about asking Saint Joseph and Saint Expedite for help, but I'm not sure how to correctly word my petition. I'd be buying the candle from the church to light for me, would I make an offering alter for them at my house as well even though the candle is being lit somewhere else? Should I make small petitions to lead up to getting a steady job and decent amount of money or put exactly that in the petition except worded differently? I've never worked with the Saints so I don't know where to even begin. I plan on doing research on both, but wanted to know if asking both for help at the same time was smart or not and like I said, I'm unsure on how to word the petition.

To add onto my last post (it wouldn’t let me edit it) I did have a Blockbuster candle lit last month to clear all obstacles in my way from finding love, success and happiness... It worked wonderfully because I can feel myself being more positive and my creativity has increased. I had really bad writers block and about two weeks ago I sat down and for the first time in months I was on a roll and able to write multiple chapters in one sitting when the week prior I was stuck and debating throwing the whole thing out... Should I light another block buster candle specifically for work along with the Saints candles?

Block buster is a great product to use as you did to clear out obstacles and open the path to success. You can always light another one if you feel blockage still exist. You can also pair up any condition candle that supports the work you are doing. Example, i may use an attraction candle to draw customers in, crown of success to be a successful writer with these freelance jobs, steady work to continue to work steady and have steady writing jobs, money drawing to continue the money.

You may want to do an alter with St Joseph if you feel drawn to him and want to work with him, I would ask for what you want, steady jobs doing x, y ,z. Burn candles dressed with the above oils used on them, dust papers, documents with the powders on them, use the success seal on the money you do use. How to write the petition to the Saint? Ask exactly what you want: With Gods grace may i be successful in freelancing, editing, writing articles (etc), with a steady income that supports me and my family. Or By Gods grace may I be hired as a freelance, editor, article writer for multiple media sources which pay me generously and use my services weekly. I would work on something that hits what you are looking for exactly.

I think I will go with that and additionally create an alter for Saint Joseph and ask for his help as well. Thank you for laying out a plan/example for me, I appreciate it! Greetings! Congrats on the paying gigs for writing. It sounds like you're off to a good start, despite a less-than supportive family.

*Wording Petitions* Reading your petition should excite you and set your heart aflame. You're a writer now, so get to writing! Writing prayers to the Saints can be an act of devotion and is a great way to honor them by making something beautiful to use in your work with them. Often some of the best prayers remind us what the Saint did in life and are capable of doing for us today: "Skilled carpenter and diligent laborer, Glorious Saint Joseph, you who provided for the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ, and fulfilled the great responsibilities set for you by God..." They also communicate what you want that the Saint may be able to help you with: "Aid me to provide for myself and my family by using my God-given talents for good pay consistently and reliably. May all my work be a steady prayer of thanksgiving, may it bring good into the word, and provide a means to support myself and those I love." If these examples don't get you excited or set your heart aflame, just try writing them out over a few days and keep working on it until you find something that really works for you and makes you feel confident and your heart happy. I would caution you to ask the Saint for something that he is interested in doing. Saint Joseph's story did not involve working to earn money to rub other folk's noses in it. So, while I certainly understand how that is a motivating factor here, I probably wouldn't include it in a petition to Saint Joseph.

*A Home Altar* There's plenty out there on setting up altars. A picture of the saint, with some fresh flowers, a candle, and fresh water are always good offerings. It could be as simple as a novena candle set on your writing desk that you light every day while reading your petition prior to starting your writing work. You could try writing a new four line prayer to Saint Joseph each day before you sit down to write. I think it's nice to have a candle being worked for you at MISC while you do your own work at home and have done exactly the same myself.

*Working with Saints Over Time* Eventually, when the saints come through for you, you'll want to thank them. You can do this in lots of different ways. You'll notice on the boards here that some workers have thanks for the saints they work with in their signature. You could dedicate your first book to whatever saint helps you in your writing/working endeavors. You could include a line of thanks in the forward. You could go to a local shrine to Saint Joseph and donate money or light a candle there in thanksgiving. Be thinking of ways you can express your gratitude as you petition the saints and develop a relationship with them. Some saints have traditional offerings that you probably want to research for yourself depending on who you decide to work with.

*Blockbuster With Saint Work* Because I like working in phases, I would use blockbuster products until I felt like the obstacles had been broken down, then petition the Saints for help. I think of it like weeding and getting the garden beds ready before you plant the seeds! I'd want to clear out any problems before I invite blessings into my life. Once you've removed an old or lingering condition, it's always lovely to immediately turn your mind and focus to inviting what you want into your life.

Our prepared 8" glass-encased vigil lights come with a dressing of oils and herbs and will burn for 5 - 7 days, depending on ambient temperature and other factors.

If you wish to set a traditional Novena of nine days, you will either have to start and stop the candle (which can result in a smoky glass), or purchase two candles to run continually over the 9-day period.

Always practice fire safety when setting vigil lights. If you must keep them lit when you are away or asleep, be sure that no pets or children can get into the room with them, that they are not near curtains or flammable cloth or paper, and that you have a smoke alarm in your house. Placing lit vigils in the bathtub is quite common, but you must not have a shower curtain if you use this method. Setting them into a fireplace is ideal, as there is a ready-made chimney for them.
