My name is Angie. I am 35 yr old & live in Wisconsin. I am not new to magical work, I am new to root work/hoodoo! I have been involved in the pagan community in SE Wisconsin off & on for about 15 yrs or so. I took a break from a lot of outside activities for a while, but still continued to do magical workings and divination on my own. In the past, I was afraid of hoodoo (most often called voodoo erroneously around here) because of the fact that not only do some people work with the "right" hand, some work with the "left", which is a no-no in Wicca & other European systems. While that is not my focus, I understand now that sometimes such work is necessary. There have been a lot of people in my life that I'd have "hot footed" out of it if you know what I mean, but instead I put up with their baloney.

Anyway, looking forward to reading this forum and putting things into practice. I am by and large, a very old-fashioned type woman, which I think draws me to hoodoo. I enjoy the outdoors, riding horses, taking care of cats and dogs and most of the time would rather be in the country than the city. I also do enjoy the city, but as I get older, I enjoy it less and less and would rather be in the company of plants and animals, surrounded by the folks who care about me and removed from the hustle and bustle of "city life" and the irritation that comes along with it. One of my favorite places to go is New Orleans and the state of Louisiana. Regretfully, the last time I was there, I did not check out many of the fine hoodoo stores that are offered, since my interest had not yet been piqued. Maybe next time?
