Hey there from a Who Dat!

Unread post by Emjae » Tue May 03, 2011 1:05 pm

Yes, I was born and raised in New Orleans and no the city is not flooded anymore so all tourists are welcome back! :D

I thought I should introduce myself since I have been "lurking" here for over a year, which led me to my excellent rootworker Miss Bri! No, I am not a normal practitioner, although I was fortunate enough to find Miss Cat's book in a local Hoodoo shop and have been trying my hand at a few things since. I am very much a NOOB and leave the heavy stuff for Miss Bri! Being born and raised Roman catholic, but not quite willing to follow the church itself, I find that Hoodoo allows me to keep my faith along with my belief that you can make a change if you are determined enough in your intent!

I do purchase my oils from Lucky Mojo, but am fortunate enough to have a few Hoodoo supply shops here in New Orleans where I can purchase my herbs. (Guess that is a great thing about this place. You can practice openly and not have to worry about someone thinking you are a nutcase. We are all nutcases here! LOL!)

I can't thank everyone here enough for all of the information they so freely part with on a daily basis. It took me a few months to get the hang of it, but lately I have been having great success with some of the smaller workings that I have tried thanks to this site.

At any rate, thank you again to Miss Cat, AIRR and all the moderators who handle this site everyday. You are a true blessing to those of us in need!
Thank you Saint Martha, Saint Jude and Saint Anthony! Words are so small!!!!

New Orleans runs in my blood and owns a piece of my soul! I was married in Congo Square in 2009, and will be going back again this year to visit with all my ancestral spirits and living friends I made while there. It's the most magical city I've ever been to, and the people there are the most warm and genuinely amazing folks anywhere. And, of course, you just can't beat the food!
