Prayer Paper Prayer Flag Vajrayana Buddhist from Nepal
Hello miss cat and all,
In my last LM order that came this week, I got a small square paper
amulet with artwork and Tibetan writing on it. I'm not sure how to
search for it in the amulet archive, so I'm hoping someone can fill me
in on its purpose.)
Happy Solstice/Yule and Merry Christmas all,

(That was a Tibetan Buddhist prayer flag printed on paper, from Nepal. In Nepal, such small representations of prayer flags are thrown off roofs and into the streets during festivals -- sort of a combination between a tciker tape parade and the flying of cloth payer flags. The throwing of paper prayer flags has been outlawed in Nepal's capital city of Kathmandu because the clean-up job after a big parade is enormous, but they are still used in the smaller cities and towns during fesivals. Enjoy! --cat)

Prayer Paper Prayer Flag Vajrayana Buddhist from Nepal
Hi, I recently received a Mexican Snow-Globe Pyramid of luck, which I love by the way
, and found something in the enclosed paper that I have never seen before. If someone from LuckyMojo could shed some light on this I would be very grateful. Its a square green piece of paper divided into 9 squares, 5 of them have depictions of animals in what looks like an eastern style. The other 4 squares are full of rather nice looking scrip but I haven't the foggiest what any of it means lol.
I've included a pic below, sorry about the quality of it
all I have for a camera at the moment is the web cam on my laptop.

Hi HailDiscordia,
That's a paper variant of a Tibetan prayer flag (with Tibetan script, A symbol of swift travel (Horse) at the center, and 4 Dignities in the corners--Dragon, Garuda, Snow Lion, and Tiger)--and all that said, it is one of a number of extras that may accompany your order from Lucky Mojo.
Hope this helps!

It's for success and good luck.
In the Himalayan nations of Tibet, Nepal, and Bhutan, it is thought that prayers are carried on the wind or on air, and Buddhists of these regions make many forms of prayer devices that engage the wind or air to release blessings.
Prayer wheels are made with blessings written on paper wound on a spool inside and turned or spun to release the blessings. Cloth prayer flags are hung from strings stretched across rooftops to flutter in the breezes and release blessings. And during festival days, paper prayer flags like this are dropped from tall buildings onto parades below to bless everyone in the celebration.
These paper prayer flags came from Katmandu, Nepal. We sell them in wrapped blocks of 100 sheets (in five colours, 20 sheets per colour) in two sizes, and we enclose one free sheet with each order, to bless your successful magical works.

These prayer flags are Buddhist. The centre image on my flag is a Wind horse (lungta) and the flags I have received are Tibetan. The way I was taught is that, when the flag deteriorates and flies off, the prayers are carried to heaven. Each colour has a different meaning: Yellow earth, Red fire, Blue sky, White air, Green water.
I am actually looking forward to collect one of each colour from LM. XD

Re: Prayer Paper Prayer Flag Vajrayana Buddhist from Nepal
I hang prayer flags all over my yard...I even have some inside. It's something my father started me on when I was little. I was always taught that when they become extremely worn, they should be burned in a fire with respect. You should see some pictures of prayer flags from Tibet...it would blow your mind how many can be clumped together in one place!

Re: Prayer Paper Prayer Flag Vajrayana Buddhist from Nepal
Does anyone know any buddhist prayers that can be used for purification, specifically during 13 herb bath, or where I can find some? I want to see if I can use a different prayer rather than the psalms I have been using for my 13 herb bath. Also, I have been reading and learning a lot about buddhism and it was the catalyst that led me to hoodoo consequently Lucky Mojo. The 13 day supply of 13 herb bath, is such a GENEROUS amount of herbs. Directions say to, on the product bag and LM site, use one scoop with the bath, which leaves a lot more than a 13 day supply, but obviously you can use more if you desire, since I have a muslin bag I usually put half a bag give or take. Since hoodoo incorporates so many other cultures spiritistic traditions and religions I want to incorporate buddhist prayers with the bath, especially because I am going to be a tibetan gau box from LM and I want to use a buddhist prayer with that.

Have you tried contacting a nearby Buddhist Association? I think you'll find that they will be MORE than happy to share their culture, philosophy and prayers with you. The best way to get this sort of info is straight from the source. People that run community organisations are usually very excited about people wanting to get to know them. Chances are the'll teach you more than you ever thought you wanted to know, and it will come with delicious cups of tea.

With each order I have received from LM there is a small colored piece of paper. What is it for? Does it help get the package to me safely or is it something I am supposed to use with the items I ordered? Just curious.

Hi Hoodoodoll!
It is a Tibetan Buddhist prayer flag. I buy a whole packet of them, and they are sold in the catalog as well. I use them to write my petition and name papers on. They are cool. To me, the green one is for MONEY!! $$$$$
You may write prayers on them, and burn them. That would be sending the prayers to heaven. I like that idea!
I hope this helps!
hugs,
Brida

Hi!
I do that too! I purchased a set of 100, and I write all of my petitions on them. I think they are a wonderful way to add to the work. Blessings are always necessary for work to manifest, and the more prayers in a specific work; thus comes the layering of blessings!
I use green for money, pink for friendship and love, yellow for success or job related petitions, blue for peacework, and the white for blessing work.
I dress them specifically for what I need, then write out my petition, fold them up, and tape them to the bottom of a glass encased vigil candle. Sometimes, I just put it under a 4inch taper candle holder, and burn the appropriately dressed candle on top of it. I also, use it for petitions in my honey jars.
I have an idea that I am going to do this year. When my brithday comes around in May. I am going to go by the ocean, and I am going to write a petition on each color of flag, then I will dress each paper, and pray over them. I will then release them in the air towards the ocean, and let the wind carry them and place them on the ocean surface. Thus releasing my petitions to the universe in a spot where there is both wind and water. It is not hoodoo, but it is my way of communicating creatively with the universe.
LM stuff is so much fun!
blessings,
Brida

I got this little pink piece of paper with seals printed all over it in my order this week, and after searching through the LM inventory I figured out it is a Buddhist prayer flag. I understand you take a bunch of them and release them into the wind to deliver good wishes, but what can you do with a single one?

Re: Prayer Paper Prayer Flag Vajrayana Buddhist from Nepal
You may have a powerful Buddhist Yan (prayers) if that is real. It's depends of what color it is. Red is for luck, violet is for love and so on.
One advise is please don't play around with that Yantra. This type of Yantra can be worn below the waist, meaning you could put it on your wallet. There is a key (Katha or Prayer) to unlock the power. I know someone who has one of those real Yantra and now residing in Blackhawk, Ca. This Yan is also good with a palankid with an inserted Takud (a penis amulet with an animal on top and a gold foil with prayers inserted) for luck specially in gambling.
Treat this with respect and believe me, it will bless you ten fold. I got the key but I can't just expose it on the web. I will give to Cat someday because she knows how to handle it and she is also wearing a palakid (a penis amulet).

The paper prayer flags come from Kathmandu. Nepal. They are written in Sanskrit lettering and are for good luck and blessings.

Re: Prayer Paper Prayer Flag Vajrayana Buddhist from Nepal
I just received my first LM order in the mail-- I have had lights set but never ordered anything to be sent to my home. I love the fortune-telling fish; it reminded me of my childhood, LOL. But included with the fish and the flyers was a small piece of paper, pink, with some sort of sigil written on it (four animals/figures in the corners?). Please forgive my ignorance, but...what is it, what does it mean, and how do I use it? I searched the forum and part of the site but no dice. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Prayer Paper Prayer Flag Vajrayana Buddhist from Nepal
Ok so I received my Lucky Mojo order today of two candles and the raved about Follow Me Boy Oil. Before my question I must say the packaging is tight! It was so hard to get open! I really appreciate the care put into my order... also, it came so quickly! So those of you worrying about order arrival times, like stated before in the forum it really does depend on what you are ordering. The oil and the candles are clearly well prepared. I'm going out tonight and I cannot wait to try my Follow Me Boy on all the guys!
With the package came an assortment of misc. things such as business cards, the fortune telling fish, spell information, etc. But one thing that was included was a little white square piece of paper with what looks to be Arabic writing and tiny pictures on it. Can anyone tell me what this is for?
Thanks!

And they're Tibetan. Most often they have a horse with 3 flaming jewels on the back. This is the wind horse, a sacred spirit animal in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. The 3 jewels are sometimes called "wish granting jewels." I love prayer flags, and the couple I've gotten from LM in the past with orders I've used as spell/petition papers.

Blessings All,
I have noticed that with each order I receive from LM,includes symbols on a parchment paper.
Does anyone know what they stand for and what I am or can do with them?
I am assuming they are talisman of some sort but of what and what intentions i don't know
I have accumulated quite a few since i order often, i don't know how to put them to good use.
Thanks,
QueenG
