I don't know whether this is appropriate, but right now I'm feeling like I
can use all the help I can get. Just called Lucky Mojo for some candles
and talked to a helpful person named Tanisia who, after consulting,
proposed Cast Off Evil and Crown of Success. So, soon as I get a picture
and written petition up there, they'll have one of these burning for me
and the others are coming here.

In addition, she called me back -- now, there is service! -- to suggest the
Knot Weed spell in Cat's book, which I'm looking forward to. I knew I
should have gotten some graveyard dirt last time I was near my father's
grave (which is in another state), but I do have a graveyard within easy
reach, so that should be easiest enough to carry out.

Now, mostly what I've done by way of actually applying this material has
been more related to attracting someone and stuff of that nature, so this
is the first time I've tried to do something for another purpose. Thus,
I'm asking for further suggestions. Of course, I'd love spells and
explicit directions, but more important, really, is to learn how to think
about these things to come up with the right approach.

Specifically what's going on is that I've just embarked on a major diet to
make me thin and healthy. It's radical, doctor-supervised, and will last
about six months. I figure, the more resources I can bring to bear on
this, the better. Following the diet plan-- that could be made easier,
yes. Getting exercise, that takes a radical transformation. Ending bad
food habits (like I WANT to stop with the mac and cheese) could also be
made easier when I transition back into unsupervised dietary conditions.

And I apologize for asking because I really feel that I'm far more stupid
and ignorant about this than I should be, but if people want to gently
call my attention to the lessons I ought to have leaped on at once, or
propose processes to try, I'm quite certain that adding more power to what
the M.D. has me doing can only help the fat fall away, melt away and I'm
willing to apply myself on all levels here.

Finally -- beyond advice, insight, counsel, and support -- would anyone care
to help with this project? It's not earth-shattering, but it would make an
enormous difference in my life if anyone cared to send up a prayer or two
on my behalf. Many thanks.

I have a severe issue with stamina. is there an candle, candle spell, etc. for help in increasing your stamina (to keep one from being always tired) or amulets to wear? I have a crystal necklace already.

In addition to John the Conquer, which ELKnapp mentioned, Master Root, Master of the Woods herb, and Sampson Snake root are also recommended for physical stamina. They may be used to dress a Power candle, and the mixture may also be ground up fine and sprinkled in your shoes to strengthen you as you walk. Power Sachet powder might be used the same way, in the shoes. Place a Seal of Mars and a Seal of the Sun under the candle as it burns.

I will need to buy a few things for this but as soon as I do I will try iy,I do have some St.John Conquer sachet oil and incense in my supplies already while I am waiting I will use the powder and to line my shoes.I know nothing about the seals I will go to LM to read and get info but if someone wants to give me a head start on seal info that would be appreciated Sincerely Sharon. i must apologize up front for my little knowledge of all the info and herbs i am trying to learn as much as I can but what exactly is a power caNDLE AND WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT THEN THE OTHERS also there is a whole section in LM on dressing the candles I will read it but will that give me all the info??? Power candles are in the candle section of the Lucky Mojo site. You can also use a purple glass enclosed 7 day candle with the herbs mentioned.

I would also get a check-up to see if this is a health related issue, barring that, John the Conquer and yarrow are great herbs for strength.

Lucky Mojo 7-day glass-enclosed candles are generally sold already-dressed (unless one specifically asks that they *not* be). That said, dressing your own candles is a straight-forward process. For 7-day candles, trim the wick and make 7 indentations/holes in the top of the candle wax. Add a few drops of your condition oil and a *small* amount of appropriate herbs/roots to the top of the candle (preferably into the holes). Glitter may be added to the top of the candle at the finish. The candle is then dressed, and ready to be prayed over.
For free-standing candles, you may carve your name and/or petition into the sides of the candles with a needle or new nail, and then apply a few drops of condition oil (from bottom to top to draw a desired result to you). Some will then roll the candle (toward oneself, to draw a desired result) in an appropriate sachet powder or mixture of finely cut herbs. And as with the 7-day example, once dressed, the candle is ready to be prayed over.

I think I will get the LM 7 day candle and then use some of the herbs and sprinkle them in shoes as your help indicate,it is not health related the meds I am on cause some but I do not sleep well because I have alot of severe pain from medical conditions that is why the stamina is so bad there are also other related issues I will do all that is mentioned in these answers thanks and have a terrific day everyone Sincerely Sharon

I started yesterday getting all necessary supples to do all of what cat and others reccomended for stamina if I can start it all prior to full moon I will if not I will wait.Am I correct in useing the waxing moon for both the stamina(asking for increase)and pyschic vision?and also because of the type of results I want I should keep remains in my home where I have arranged a nice urn?? I've been in recovery from eating disorders for many years now, but I'm finding that like alcoholism or addictions old habits die hard. I'm not in any real danger of succumbing to eating disorders again, but I often catch myself losing track of time and skipping meals. I REALLY don't want to succumb to eating disorders, so I'd like something pretty and magical to keep on my desk as a reminder to stop working and get something to eat. The painted bottles look really pretty, but I don't know if one of those would be suited to this purpose. Any ideas which one might work? I work with Santa Muerte, so if nothing else I could probably use one of the Santa Muerte bottles. I was also considering some other type of mojo or amulet, but I really like how those bottles look.

And then any ideas what sorts of herbs and things would work in a bottle spell like this? (or mojo hand) I figure it's probably a lot like a spell for breaking addictions.

Eating disorders definitely fit the pattern of addiction.

I would also suggest seeing a nutritionist or dietician, who can design for you an eating plan and meals that will be customized to your likes, dislikes, and lifestyle.

Hi there,

As J has said, addictions are both physiological and mental/spiritual crises. To effectively treat addiction you must treat it as such, by going to see the doctor, seeing a nutritionist, and eating the right food at the right time in the right quantity, exercise some every week--etc, etc. To magically treat it I think the bottle spell is a good idea. If you work with the Saints I would petition St. Jude or St. Martha the Dominator, they also each have bottle spells. I would definitely incorporate Ladies Thumb: http://herb-magic.com/knot-weed.html
so that you can tie down that addiction and keep it from every reaching up and controlling you again.

I worked with a lovely holistic health counselor last summer and she really helped me through some issues surrounding food, and helped me expand my food choices with all my food allergies. It was an amazing experience and I can recommend her if anyone is interested!

But anyway, about the spiritual work, I don't work with a lot of saints, but I'm certainly not opposed to working with them. I like collecting Catholic icons and rosaries but I don't ever really work with them. St. Martha sounds like she could be a good friend. I sort of felt drawn to St. Barbara, but I don't know much about her. Would Devil's Shoestring be a good herb to include? I'm thinking I might like to use rosemary because I love cooking with rosemary so much. Is there a sachet powder that might be useful in this situation?

In certain situations the person must recognize that there are multiple levels at which a condition needs to be treated for there to be success.

An individual who needs to lose weight or who suffers from obesity will have problems related to their weight (and in some cases actually causing the weight gain) that are physiological and not psychological or spiritual. Psychological and spiritual problems may also be involved and Conjure can help A LOT when it comes to those levels, but magic is no substitute for a good doctor who can assess the situation clearly and give the patient advice on how to deal with their weight and what a healthy approach will look like.

What Bri said is true: medical conditions MUST be treated by a doctor.

That being said, i have known folks who told me that while they were engaged in a program of exercise and calorie reduction, they felt that they had good spiritual results from the old trick in which you perform a cleansing with an egg. This can be used to take off fear, mental negativity, crossed conditions, or unhealthy weight. To use it for wight loss, you roll a raw egg (in its shell) over your body while commanding the egg to take up your excess weight, then walk outside and throw the egg at a large tree, breaking the egg as you tell the tree to take on the weight and grow.

I am getting very interested in Hoodoo, I would like to enroll in the course, and would want to order some oils and a copy of your book to start with.

To start with i am learning the names of all roots and plants in my language and reading a lot of their uses in herbal medicine, Its amazing how everything is so interlinked and how growing up in the environment, we never seem to notice things.

I would like to prepare myself with this before i enroll and to finish the first three homeworks before hand.

I would bathe first, then roll the egg while still naked, then get dressed and throw the egg at the tree. Washing the hands afterward is a nice finishing touch.

There is a very helpful page on this subject, which, despite the kinda cheesy artwork and intrusive google ads, i recommend wholeheartedly. It is called "The 15 Challenges of Successful Christian Weight Loss" by Maggie -- you can look it up at google.

Besides my 7 day dressed candle for stamina, which they are burning at MISC altar, I am also burning one at home to back up the work.

Cat told me to also put John the Conquer, and a few other roots in my shoes with power sachet. How much and do i just put them inside my shoes?

Also, does working with John the Conquer require a prayer or novena or something? Or special day?

Also I read about the herbs having spells on them. Is that for all of them?

Put small chips of roots that are used for stamina, strength, and power in your shoes. Among them are John the Conquer, Sampson Snake Root, Master of the Woods, Master Root, Yarrow Fower.

There is no novena (Catholic nine-day prayer) associated with John the Conquer root. Just pray in your own words or pray one of the Psalms for health and strength.

To learn about how to use root and herbs, i recommend that you buy and use my book "Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic." 500 plants and minerals are listed alphabetically and at the end of the book there are charts listed by condition or situation. Please use this book to help yourself learn the work. There is also a very brief list of herbs by condition here:

I plan on getting your book as it was part of the process you told me about it when I asked about your course you said tto first read the online book thing then buy your book read it over to cover and after I have learned all that get your course which I have started.

The reason why I asked about the info on these specific roots now is that the stamina(which is one of 8major illnesses I have)is very bad now I ordered the herbs you told me too just received them and wanted to start asap so I asked for alittle help,I know I have to learn and research alot of things for myself but right now I was ill and bought the items and was asking for alittle help I do not except or want others to do for me I can assure you but I appreciate where you are coming from on everything and I look foward to your book and course I know you have 2 books are there others?

Hi All!
Was wondering what would be the best spell to work for this person (of the opposite sex), who cannot seem to articulate/express themselves verbally. Referencing Cat's book, I thought maybe something with Deer's Tongue might be appropriate, however I'm not sure whether a Come to Me spell or a Road Opener spell would be more effective? Any suggestions?

It's kind of a long, drawn out, complicated matter, (aren't they all), but I'm kind of at an impasse with this person and am puzzled as to what the next course of action should be regarding casting something. This person LITERALLY cannot express what it is that they want, and gets tongue tied and then flees.

I realize that Deer's Tongue is used in getting a marriage proposal usually, but would a smidgen of it be appropriate in this instance, perhaps combined with one of the two spells referenced above?

Hello.

I am at a loss for figuring out what exactly could be worked for a good friend who lives 3,000 miles away from me as they battle problem skin (i.e., eczema resulting from past chemotherapy). I was thinking a healing type work but don't know how exactly to approach it as I have never done "complexion" work (but, it is more than that--her self-esteem is ebbing due to this skin problem). I am open to any suggestions that will jump-start my brain and head me in the right direction.

Magically what you can do for her is uncrossing and cleansing work. But, as her friend what you can really do for her is get the name of a good dermatologist in her area and pass the information on to her, diseases that are expressing themselves physiologically may be treated magically but they also must be treated physically if true healing is to occur.

I think you're on the right track with healing work, as long as they're getting medical attention. With it being complexion-focused, but also self esteem, I'm thinking a wash or an oil. You could combine spiritually healing and cleansing ingredients with cosmetic and anti-exanthematous ingredients to work both sides of the issue. This is if you can work with the person, of course; I know they're far away and may not be willing to try things that are new to them.

If that can't/doesn't work, I would focus on straight healing and blessing, perhaps through doll baby work or candles.

Others have extensively covered work for the emotional aspects.

Herbs that might be supportive for the physical side would include yarrow, slippery elm, calendula, comfrey leaf, althea root, and life everlasting flowers--all brewed as a strong tea and used externally as a bath or a wash.

Hi. A few things. One: don't mind the haters, haters always gonna hate. Two: in hoodoo baldness usually falls under unnatural conditions so I would suggest uncrossing, perhaps the Uncrossing Kit. Three: ease off the all caps. On the net typing in all caps is seen as yelling and no one likes being yelled at ya know.

As a Psychologist, I personally analyzed by weight problem first to figure out what needed to be focused on. Last year I ended up using healing oil (for my emotional issues), Crucible of Courage (to up my confidence and belief in my weight loss), and Cast off Evil (to rid of bad habits...for me was impulsive eating). Along with these oils I visualized on a daily basis me feeling happy, thin, confident, and free from my emotional ties to food. This worked for me and I lost 30 pounds in six months. I didn't specify in my head how much I wanted to lose, I just wanted to find the motivation and strength within me to do it, and of course heal some emotional issues tied into my weight. So, all in all, personally I would look at the root of the weight issue first and then find what oils could help.

I annointed myself with all three separately, saying a prayer for each purpose as I annointed myself before I went into my meditations. At the time I always had white candles burning for a constant cleansing of myself (with no dressing)....which isn't totally hoodoo....I am a newbie at learning the traditional ways....but if I would do it over again, personally I would stick with the oils I used by annointing myself, and I would do a full blown spell (you may have to ask someone else for a weight loss spell since I'm still a newbie and if I come up with one right now on the spot, it may not be straight up hoodoo) and then continue to do daily meditations and annointing yourself, plus adding in the sachet powders, incense, etc....I would also do the uncrossing spell kit too BEFORE jumping into this for a fresh start. Plus, with the intentions, personally I couldn't pick a weight to be at....I didn't want to feel like a failure if my goal wasn't met, so I didn't focus on a number....it was just important to me to be healthier and lose weight...

I do feel though if you do the uncrossing kit first, then do a full blown spell from someone on the forum, and then continue to annoint yourself, use powders, baths, visualizations, etc....just adding more and more of hoodoo, you would get faster results than I did....plus you will feel so much better about yourself internally. hmmmm....you got me thinking now....I could lose a little more myself!

ummmm...not sure on that one, but i like to do a full blown uncrossing spell before i do any type of big work.....i haven't worked with jinx killer oil...somebody else will have to comment on that...sorry! (maybe as long as it's a full blown spell using jinx killer????)

Hi all,

Anyone know of a ritual or spell in hoodoo for love and acceptance of oneself? They say you can't truly love someone if you don't love yourself and i'm begining to see the wisdom in that. What in the LM catalogue might be able to help with that?

Lack of self-love, self-confidence, or self-esteem takes a number of forms. Here are the two most common scenarios.

For some the issue is lack of nurturance as a child which led to self-esteem problems based on never feeling "good enough" or "right" in one's path.

Try using a talisman or mojo or mojo to increase self-esteem and personal power and courage and dress it with oils for self-esteem, courage, and power.

Since eating disorder is kind of an addiction to controlling food intake.......
Maybe a cast off evil kit to break the hold that the disease has on you first, then use the bottle spell to keep it going?
I am considering a similar thing but geared more towards obsessive compulsive disorder, which has some in common with eating disorders, drug addiction, etc, so it seems like it could apply both ways.

I think Santisima Muerte would be good imagery for eating disorder because of the skeletal body. Or maybe lonely soul to free yourself from the purgatory of eating disorder.

I am very supportive of using hoodoo spellcasting for personal development.

I suggest that a Honey Jar spell (to sweeten you to yourself), or a Love Me spell kit can be used with ONESELF as the target to encourage self-love and the development of compassion and care with oneself.

you can also use a dollbaby (DOL-FLA-REOP) with your picture on it, your hair on the head, some of your blood on the chest, and with clothes made from some of your old unwashed clothes that you liked and sacrificed for the purpose. work with the doll every day and tell the doll how much you love the doll (having baptised it with your name).

focus on formulae that will bless (e.g. Blessing) and bolster love in a well-rounded rather than romantic and sexual manner (Love Me, Marriage, Return to Me, Adam and Eve) for oils and other products to use in laundry or on candles, etc.

the essentials that appeal to me here are Rose-associated, such as Rose Geranium, Rosewood, Rose blend) and Vanilla.

physical enhancement spells are not conventional in hoodoo. they are a part of folklore and general perceptual manipulation, but that's about it. see below.

Oh I do too!

Many people who don' know true information about her are not able to see her beautiful side. She has helped me with Body image problems, she is always reminding people that beauty and benevolence come in many forms. In some ways She feels more safe and sure to me thank my own mother.
I am curious to know what you decide to use and how it works for you, please share your results if you feel comfortable doing so!
