I heard an interview that miss cat gave a few months back, and was drawn to this place. I have listened to the podcast religiously these past few weeks, and I'm sure my digital fingerprints are all over this site

Personally, I was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky. My mother's people have lived there for generations, and I was brought up within the Southern Baptist church. Many of the prayers listed on the hoodoo information pages are familiar to me, as far as certain elements go, and I find it fascinating to see some of the correlations between these practices, and the religion I grew up in!
My father's people are from Georgia, and my beloved, late, paternal grandmother was Italian and Catholic, but I was not raised in that religion.
I just ordered miss cat's book, a few other things, and I am very interested in reading the book based off of what I have seen on the site already.
I normally don't post on public forums (due to a natural sensitivity as some people can be very mean on the internet!) but y'all seem like very warm and inviting folks. Anyways, I have enjoyed reading all the information and advice given here.
Thank you.
