Basil Questions and Answers

Unread post by LEARNING719 » Sun Nov 27, 2011 6:52 am

I have read in Mrs. Cats book about soaking basil & then sprinkiling the water at doorstep. It's soaking now & I added catnip to increase affection.

I feel like there's more i need to do. Do i just sprinkle the water once it's done soaking, do i pray, do I scrub the doorstep?

How often do i do this?

Basil is one of my favorites because it can be included in a variety of spellwork (http://herbmagic.com/basil.html) You can pray the 23 psalm while stating your petition.

This product qualifies to be included in the Lucky Mojo 6 Herb and Root Special.

When you order SIX of our regularly-priced herbs or roots, you only pay for FIVE and, as a BONUS GIFT -- we will also send you a FREE Red Flannel Bag that you can use to make your own mojo hand. Just order the Special, and be sure to list your SIX herbs and roots in the message area of your order.

Learning719: I'm so glad you decided to do the Basil "tea" sprinkle for your doorstep! You can certainly pray over the basil water as it is soaking, stating your desired effect. Something along the lines of, "May this Basil Water protect my family and increase the affection of the household, I ask this in Jesus' name"...or "in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit may this be done, Amen" or whatever you feel comfortable with. If you have any extra you may bottle it up and use it as you had before. If you feel the need to also scrub your doorstep you may, however the Basil will work with just a sprinkle.

When I did my basil water, I prayed while holding the bottle and gently shaking it in a circular motion every 24 hours until it was time to sprinkle it at the door stop.

Front or back yard disposal is fine.

Alternatively:
1 - compost the herb residue so that it can enrich your future growing soils
2 - use the herb residue in a spaghetti sauce you make for the family (waste not, want not)

The medical qualities of this product are described in this book, with traditional folkloric remedies for home-herbalists to try.

Basil in a pot for a happy home?

Unread post by sakura » Sun Sep 28, 2014 9:48 am

I clearly remember reading *somewhere* that putting a lover's picture in the bottom of a pot of basil brings in happiness to the family. I cannot, however, find where I saw it.

Does anybody know anything about this spell? Was the picture face-up or face-down, was a petition written on the back, that sort of thing?

Thanks if you can help!

Hello, sakura ,

Honestly, I just can't remember his specific spell.

But, I would write the petition on the front of the picture and have the picture facing upward to grow with the plant.

That's would I would do. Now, maybe another rootworker knows of this spell or has a better idea as to what to do with this (we'll wait to hear from others), it's my best guess.

Take care

sakura, I was taught a similar spell many years ago by one of my teachers, so our source is likely not the same, but I was told that basil keeps harmony in the home and to put a photo of the family (lover, couple, etc.) in the bottom of a potted basil plant with the petition written on the front of the picture and the picture being face up. I was also told to take special care of this plant and to use the leaves in cooking for the family.

Hope this helps!

I mentioned above having seen a Basil spell. Well, I finally found it, and here's how it goes:

Take a picture of your lover. Write your petition on the front. Cross it with his name. Place it face-up in the bottom of a flower pot. Then, place dried Spikenard on the photo. Plant a basil plant on top of this. This ensures fidelity.

It's not mentioned on the page for Basil, but can I sprinkle it in all 4 corners of a room to enhance peace and love?

Hi Innocence,

Basil is good for peace and protection as it is said that evil cannot walk where basil exists. It is one of my favorite herbs for this purpose. To enhance love, use any of the specific love-drawing herbs. You can find a list of them here:

Good luck.

I want to put a picture in a pot under a basil plant but I have a question. Today in the grocery store I saw these little pots of basil plants in the produce department. Can I use one of those, transfer it to a more sturdy pot and add some more soil? Or do I have to start from scratch by actually planting seeds and letting the plant grow on top of the picture in the pot? I saw that somewhere else before I searched it here. Due to bad weather here, it will take weeks for the plant to start to grow if I have to plant seeds. Appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Hello, Nydya3

You asked:

"I want to put a picture in a pot under a basil plant but I have a question. Today in the grocery store I saw these little pots of basil plants in the produce department. Can I use one of those, transfer it to a more sturdy pot and add some more soil? " -YES!

Then you asked:

"Or do I have to start from scratch by actually planting seeds and letting the plant grow on top of the picture in the pot? I saw that somewhere else before I searched it here. Due to bad weather here, it will take weeks for the plant to start to grow if I have to plant seed - You can do that but it is not necessary

I hope this helps

Good luck and happy spell casting!

mizznana002 ,

It protects against evil, including the evil eye. This could work in a healing spell to remove any evil that is causing the illness, such as a spell, spirit, evil eye.
