Sorry, not sure where to post this. I am working on my BF. I am doing a reversal with a LM double action candle on him to remove what another woman has to him. How do I word my petition so that I reverse everything she or unknown rivals has done WITHOUT reversing the work I am doing on him?

Hi Faith,

The petition wil not reverse the work you've done on him unless you specifically request it to do so. You are fine just writing a petition, "reverse the work x and unknown enemies have done on z (your boyfriend's name).

I just wanted to quickly ask, however, have you gotten a reading from an AIRR member on Reversing? If not, I would highly recommend it if you are not experienced doing reversing work and are going up against other practitioners. Reversing would not be my first course of action in this case. Cleansing and protection would but I would consult with an AIRR member just to be sure.

You can remove what has been put on him by doing dollbaby work on him with a series of 13-herb baths and doing the same for yourself. Make sure you clean your house as well.

Finally, once you've gotten rid of the mess, I would make certain that you and he are very well-protected and using firey wall of protection and other protective measures before doing reversing work. Again, make sure your house is protected and not just your person.

Regardless, after reading your other posts, I strongly recommend getting a reading and a consultation to plan the best course of action if you haven't already. Hope this helps!

as a non-native english speaker, i got lost with 'dominating force'
this is the first time i read of a name paper
where the target's name/wish/desire goes on top of your name...
when would this method be applicable?

I am not cat, but from the way I understand it is comes down to different styles among families. Some people write their name and cover and cross with their desire. I was taught to do it the other way around. You write what you want, say, "money" and cover and cross that with my name so I am *on top* of the money--having power over it.

1. how do you write a name paper for a road opener candle (if there is any such thing for road opener, ive only seen petition papers). the dynamics are different for me.
i have cat's book and i saw a name paper where two names are linked in the form of an x and the petition goes around in a circle, is this appropriate for this type of candle?

2. is there a particular difference between the x name paper vs. your name 7 times over target's 7 times?

3. "road opener removes blockages." does this mean that the petition paper is folded counterclockwise?

4. can you use the picture of that you wish to attract/happen as the petition paper ?this sounds counter-intuitive to me, but, ive read some members mentioning using the wish/desire as a petition paper. the reason it seems odd is because road opener does not draw but removes.

1) I personally would list out the things you see as blocking your path, along with a request that all unknown things that are hindering you be removed, I would phrase it as a letter to God.

2) Yes, they are used in different spells for different aims, but I wouldn't use either for a road opener spell.

3) That is definitely one way you could do it.

4) I would not use a picture of what you want to draw to you, or a picture of your goal in a spell meant to remove blocks from you.

something along the lines of a letter
however, since it is for a particular goal
i would still mention the wish/desire in this way

for example, "remove all obstacles that prevent x from obtaining/attracting y(the wish/desire)...."

1) If you have my book you will notice at least three other forms of petition paper in the book than the one you mention -- and there are dozens more ways to do it.

2) Yes, in my book, the example with the circle bounds the two people in. The example with the square does too, and adds stability. Covering and crossing a name has its own meaning.

3) Clockwise moves us forward (as a clock dial, as time). Counterclockwise undoes things; it moves them backwards. To remove an obstacle is not to undo something or to move us backward. It is to clear the way as we move forward.

4) Road Opener does not create a void, you know. it opens the road. The road it opens leads to SOMEWHERE. If you can picture that SOMEWHERE, you can use a picture of it as the goal at the end of your now-open road.

My mother just called it hexing. She said all you need to is write there name really pretty, and you can lift up your pen. But, the only part you dont lift up for is when your draw your star over and through thier name. You can the draw a cirlce round it, and write your "petition" going all the way around it til you've said your peace.

I tried using parchment paper no matter what pen I used, it wouldn't write, so they told me at the LM shop to use paper from a brown paper bag. But then again the parchment paper that I used, was commerical parchment paper. Does that make a difference?

its better to use Sheepskin Parchment Paper or any white parchment paper and use some lucky mojo ink. they sell doves blood for love work, bats blood for enemy work ,also dragons blood for luck wish etc. you could buy a quill or a mental quill.if you hate using normal quills i have done spells before

Real parchment is made from skin and in the older practices it was common to offer the animal to a deity before preparing and using the skin to write on. Parchment Paper is not make of skin but a nice material to write on.
Some are pecky when it comes to their paper, some are not.
Some are real pecky when it comes it their inks, pens, pencils, type of bird for quill feathers, colour of quills and so on.
It is an art in itself.

I love good inks, the right kind of paper for this and that specific spell and client. Using lack sealing (is is called that in English?) and pressing a suitable symbol often gives it such a nice touche. But that is uneccesary luxury. Some brown paper and a pen usually works just as well and sometimes even better.

Hold up, now. You've got a contradiction in terms here. Parchment paper isn't parchment, as Dr. Johannes explained. It just kinda looks like it.

Well, now, hoodoo has deep roots -- generations deep -- in the lives of people who didn't have access to parchment, or even parchment paper; but they knew what to do when they needed to help themselves in a hurry. Many of them, as starsinthesky said, would match the color of the paper to the skin tone of the person they were working on. Hoodoo-savvy folks have been writing effective petitions on bits of grocery bag with pencils or dime-store ink or even ball-point pens for generations!

Beautiful and costly materials don't hurt magic -- usually. But it's all about what the spirit does once you get something in your hands.

(You do know there is neither bat's blood nor dove's blood in those inks, right?)

I am looking for some help with a petition....I want to dress a candle with Follow Me Boy, Kiss Me Now, and Dixie Love. I read possible petitions for each but they seem to contradict, one said to use his name on the petition and cross over with my intention, another said use my name, etc.

So if combining all three, what would be a good idea for a petition? I was thinking to write it all on the back of his picture with a hair and nail clipping.

You can cross his name with yours and the intention can be reduced to a very few words ("love me love me love me," for instance) and written in a circle around the crossed names. That's a classic, old-fashioned way to do it.

I did a little candle spell with some Van Van last night. I put the candle out before I went to bed and lit it back up this afternoon and left it in the tub, it finished burning before I left (or at least looked like it did). I came back home and the petition was burnt, is this a really bad thing? Is this a bad sign? Should I get a mini reading or what?

Hi everyone!

Finally got my herbs and roots from LM (international) after a six week wait.

I'm gearing up to do an influence honey jar to sweeten my folks to my desires. I've got all my supplies ready and I've realised that I'm a little bit confused with the appropriate style of writing the petition paper. I am familiar with honey jars and I was wondering if the same style of crossing the person's name with your own in odd numbers at an 90 degree angle and the petition written in an unbroken circle applies for an influence jar as well? Or would writing your petition across the person's name be more appropriate for this sort of jar? Thanks!

I would just write the target's name and cross it with your own. You could do the unbroken circle which is typically done for love work. But you can do it here as well perhaps writing in an unbroken circle what you want them to do. Or you can write their name and cross it with a command. There are different ways and its a matter of preference.

Temont, A burned petition is not always a bad sign. Although it can create a fire hazard, and might be a very bad sign, it is not necessarily a bad sign. This has happened to me, for instance, and actually my petition came true. That is why you were recommended to get a reading.

In addition to accidental burnin, there are some practitioners who deliberately burn the name papers after they are finished with their spells. If there are still some remains, then they dispose of them properly.

Dont be nervous lol. If you want you can always repeat the spell. To be sure the paper doesnt burn, simply use a vigil light just to back up your work.

I'm planning to do a working to help one of my family members find work, I read the job spell given on the page for Steady Work products, and I liked the petition paper idea (listing out what you wanted from the job and then crossing and covering it with your name), my question is this: Should I write in the petition "I am seeking a job for <person> with the following conditions" and then cross and cover with my name since I'm the one actually performing the spell? Or, would it make more sense to just list the conditions of the job he is seeking and cross and cover with his name?

I apologize if this is one of those things most people just know, or if I'm just pursuing this idea in a manner which is completely incorrect, but I've done some searching, and while I've found some great guides to petition writing, I haven't found the answer to this particular question.

Any help is appreciated!

Ok, here's a new one for you....
Oweing to some bizarre circumstances during my early childhood, I ended up starting school late - really late. As a direct result, I never learned to write in cursive and my teachers saw no need to rectify the situation. To date, it had caused me no problems at all - until I decided to get some work done with petition/name papers... sprcifically the part where you write your wish/command/request in a circle around the circumference of the paper.

Am I, er, up that creek (the one with the famous name), or can I get by with legible printing and a LOT of sincereity ??

My cursive is absolutely illegible. I just block print. So long as it's in a circle, I don't think it really matters. Just write what's in your heart and don't fuss over your writing style.

Also, you can just connect each printed letter to one another without lifting your pen/pencil. It doesn't have to be read by anyone and no one is judging your work! My kids do this kind of cursive all the time and they might never learn real cursive either, they have computer classes in school, not handwriting classes. As long as your power and intent go into the petition, I think that's the most important thing.

The important component of writing a honey jar style petition-where the words are in a circle is that you DO NOT LIFT YOUR PEN until the circle is complete. You may make that happen however suits you best-but lifting the pen is the issue-not whether your writing is cursive, print, or some hybrid variation thereof. Once your circle is complete you may go back and cross your T's and dot your I's.

I have a question... I purposely choose my words so there are no i's or t's because I wasn't sure, but I thought I read somewhere that you can't lift your pen and you don't bother going back to doing it. Is it really ok to go back and do it?

Fixer Kitty, you have misunderstood. This particular form of writing a spell-paper is not about forming a circle. It is about magically creating a totally fenced-in solid line of writing, a magical "corral" for the names which sonfines them so that they cannot escape. Writing in cursive is the easiest way to do it. The circular outline is not the point, rather the connectedness of the letters is the point.

Psychic Mimi, of course a clever person will rise to the challenge of crafting a verbal petition containing no "t" or "i" or "f" or "j" because it there is a certain elegance of movement inherent in going around the circle once and then stopping and being done. However, there is nothing in the world "wrong" with going back and crossing letters or dotting letters after the circle is complete. The point, again, is not to do this in one pass -- the point is to magically create a totally fenced-in solid line of writing, a magical "corral" for the names. The crossings and dottings do not interfere with that line in any way, once you have formed it.

The above petition paper was crafted as a demonstration by a mage with 30 years of experience in practical magic. The nine horizontal lines in block letters all read BASE NAME TARGET -- that is, the full name of the target forms the "base" or bottom layer of writing. The vertical nine lines, also in block letters, all read OVERLAY NAME CONJURE -- meaning that the conjure's full name is overlaid on top of the target's name. The confining circle of cursive writing reads "thegeneralintentionthegeneralintention..." -- meaning that "the general intention" of the spell is described in the circular writing. Notice that there are both t and i letters in "the general intention." As Bri made clear, there is a REASON for writing out this particular type of petition in a circle WITHOUT LIFTING PEN FROM PAPER, and that reason is to make of the act of writing a MAGICAL act, thereby creating a spiritual -- and visible -- confinement for the names.

if for some reason you cannot create a spiritual and visible confinement of the names, then just use another one of the hundred or so ways of writing a petition paper.

Posting questions again...newbie at work, please be patient!

I realize my questions might have been asked before, but the threads I read was a little confusing because of different inputs from different people.

I read some threads and there was a discussion of using legal name vs maiden name. What I got out of it was generally we use whatever info we have.

What is the "right" way to name the target when we have too much information (we know both legal name and maiden name)? Again, I put the word "right" in quotation marks because I think various experienced practitioners perceive it differently.

For example, I have too much information when my target is my sister who took her husband's last name when she married. If I had wanted to do reconciliation work on them, I would use her first name with her husband's last name as that is what she goes by now. But if I think her relationship is abusive and she needs to get out, thus breakup work, I am faced with legal name or maiden name? I am tempted to use maiden name because it is breakup work and I want to cut her links with her husband. Any thoughts or guidance?

Also, if someone's full name is Christopher, but he goes by Chris all the time, and fill legal paperwork with Chris as well, I should still use Christopher in spellwork related to him, right?

You already answered your own question: There is no one "right" way. There are numerous ways. Some are regional, cultural, or ethnic in their transmission, others are not.

For instance, in addition to your interest in birth-names versus married names, you have not consider the very ancient Jewish way of writing out a name for a petition paper -- "[Name] son (or daughter) of [Name]."

This method arose because surnames were not used among Jews until they were forced to adopt them by governmental agencies in Europe, where they resided. They had no last names. Every name looked like this: Simon ben Abraham (which means means Simon son of Abraham). Under the laws passed in Germany in the 1700s, a person with a Jewis name like that might have been forced to use the name Simon Abraham. From that time onward, all of his descendents would bear the surname Abraham.

However, old customs die hard (if at all) and if the newly renamed Simon Abraham had a son named Mordechai Abraham, and if Mordechai Abraham pissed off his girlfriend, she might curse him as "Mordechai Abraham son of Simon Abraham" rather than the old fashioned (to her) "Mordechai ben Simon" (Mordechai son of Soimon) -- but to non-Jews, her insistance on naming her ex-boyfriends father would look very strange indeed.

So ... again, there is no "right" way -- just a LOT of "right" ways.

I ordered LM candles and some oil to dress it with, I plan on jus printing out pictures and just putting it under the candle with a petition. However I would like to know how I should write my petition or better yet , how do I write a petition?

Now that I know a little bit about what I'm going to do, I was now wondering if having MISC set a candle for me would be the same as doing the spell myself? Like what is the difference between doing it myself and having LM do it.

The real reason I couldn't do he spell is because I'm still in the closet and have not told anyone what I am up too, I live with my family and there is no way to burn a candle for 7 days without them knowing, that's why I'm having MISC do it

If you cannot burn the candle yourself, the candle servers at MISC will set the light for you, but they will be greatly aided if yoiu send both a petion paper and a photo of the person you are working on.

One thing rarely mentioned here is the use of a printed photo as a petition paper -- or the possibilities that arise when cropping out and gluing a photo onto the candle as part of the label. Either way makes for good, strong work.
