Saint Benedict Of Palermo Spiritual Supplies Questions and Answers

Unread post by Ti Woz » Wed Jun 15, 2022 5:59 am

Hello!

I am from Brazil, here we have a lot of culture involving Saint Benedict Of Palermo. He is commonly syncretized with the orisha of candomblé Ossaiyn, god of herbs.

Saint Benedict can be interesting in practices such as Hoodoo, he is commonly seen in the kitchen of homes, so that there is no shortage of food. It is also one of the few saints that we see the Baby Jesus in the arms of the saint, especially when it comes to a black saint!

Here we commonly place water and candles in front of his image. He is able to keeping the house supplied, and is great for bringing prosperity. He is the patron of Africans, nutrition professionals, cooks, and housewives... in addition to being said as a great prophet, due to his enormous prophecies and visions.

I would like to know if anyone else works with this saint, I saw that there were icons for sale on the site, but I didn't see much else. I appreciate the answers.

Hello, Ti Woz --

Saint Benedict of Palermo is all you say and more, but there is no organized veneration of him in the United States that i know of. We do carry a lovely chromo print of him, for those who are interested:

Use in Magic:
Saint Benedict the Moor, also known as Saint Benedict of Palermo (1524-1589) was born to enslaved Africans near Messina, Sicily, and was granted his freedom before birth. As a shepherd, he was subjected to racial abuse due to his skin colour. He joined the Franciscan order and spent the rest of his life in the Franciscan Friary of Palermo, where he was known as a cook, a trainer of novices, and an herbal healer. He is venerated by Sicilians of Moorish and African ancestry and petitioned by all for natural healing and health.

Spell Methods:
Colourful prints of revered and sacred beings are used as a focus of devotion; small cards may be carried in the wallet or purse, larger chromos and posters are placed on the altar or hung on the wall.
