Opps I don't know what to do because I have been burning a seven day candle and well I let it burn 7 minutes past 12am does that count as it going through to the next day. I don't know weather to start the candle all over again? Because it slipped through to the next day. And its only suppose to be one section a day. I didn't focus and watch the time properly.

I was taught that 12am does not mean its the next day. I learned that when the sunrises is the next day. So a whole day is from sunrise to sunrise. So if you go by that you should be fine with how you are burning it.

But remember some people burn their vigil lights straight through not the same amount each day.

If you are still concerned about going into your next section either repeat when you are finished, or light a small single candle to make up for the section you burned through.

What I did, I stopped it 7 mins after 12am and restarted it again the next day so would that could as one days worth of burning due to the fact all of the first part didn't burn for that first day. Because I already stopped it as 12.7am and the first section wasnt burnt by that time so Could I start afresh another day even though it was partly burnt?

I bought a yellow vigil candle to increase my luck in games of chance and luck in money in general along with incense.
I was wondering what are the proper steps are next.
Do I light the incense, then hold my candle and say the 23rd psalm 7x and at the end of the 7th time say what I want? Then tape my petition to it?

Or.

Do i light the incense, tape my petition to the candle, light the candle, say the 23rd psalm 7x and each time I end the psalm say what I want and then go on to saying the psalm a second time, say amen, say what I want, then a start again til I reach the 7th time?

And when making a petition what exactly do I say? and do I place the candle on top of it, or do I just tape it (words facing the glass) to the top of the candle?

I am aware of how to dress any candle, except the ones that you are unable to pull out of the glass.

I have an idea how to do it but I just wanted to know if anyone has a better way than the one I'm thinking of.

Thanks in advance ! :)

MoonGlow,

If you order vigil candles from Lucky Mojo, they come already dressed. There are many ways to do the work, but until you see it, you will just be working from book learning, not the real deal. When you order your candle from us, ask for the free candle flyers (there are TWO of them, one is called "Candle Burning Basics" and the other is called "Some Tips on Candles") Having the dressed candle and those two flyers should take you a lot closer to the understanding you need.

Here is a sample candle you can order, right here in the Forum, and it will come fully dressed for you to see exactly how it is done. Just click on the blue Add To Cart button:

Your query and my reply have been merged into the long "Vigil Candles" thread and if you would take the time to read it, i am sure that you will learn a lot of other tricks and tips about working with these candles.

In addition, there is another thread at the Lucky Mojo Forum just on the subject of dressing, loading, and fixing ALL kinds of candles, and that may also be of interest to you to read. It is here:

Candles: Trim, Carve, Load, Petition, Pray, Dress, Light

Good luck.

Hello everyone I have questions about 7 day candles :

1. I just want to make sure if it's Ok to pinch out the candle daily as that I have a small apartment and the person I live with doesn't know or approve of my beliefs ...

2. If candle is melting and there's a big pool of wax can I empty some out so that the wick doesn't drown in its own wax?

Thanks for the answers. I did read about the $ day candles on other threads but I just want to make sure of my answers. Thanks again :)

Dr Johannes wrote:Besides the very good recommendation above;
You can write the petition on the backside of a photo of those you wish to work on and put them, face down, under each candle before you light them.
So you are saying if I have a picture of my target I can write out my petition on the back side of that and then put it face down under the candle before I light it...

So, if I was looking down at the candle I would see the targets picture or the otherside which is the petition part?

Have any of you actually put the name paper in the candle itself... Like cut a slit in the candle and stuck it in then put your oils and herbs on top?? I'm asking about a 7 day vigil candle incased in glass.

Thanks!

Hi Kittyluver,

it would be quite unusual to put the petition paper directly into the vigil candle's wax as it would be something of a fire hazard.

For the petition written on a photo, you can fold it into a packet with herbs and put that under the candle, you can fold it once and put it under the candle, you can put the person's face toward the table and the petition toward the candle if you don't want them to see the work (and add some bay leaves around the candle!), you can put the candle over a significant part of their image like the head or the heart. The rule set isn't as specific as you seem to think. How to place your paper and how to write it will depend on what your intended outcome is and who you're working on. Consider it like playing jazz music rather than classical: there's room to improvise on a theme.

I lit my 7 day vigil candle on Saturday and then was gone all day and night Sunday so I wasn't able o pray over my candle. Is this a problem? I'm going to say no, but i had been lighting vigil candles one right after another and this is the third one and the first one to leave black residue where the other two left the cable clear and when I left the wick was in the middle and now it's to the right..

An infrequent poster here but proud graduate #727. I frequently order fixed vigil candles from LMCC, never really questioning the glitter and stars added to the herbs until I had candles set by MISC and the readings included the involvement of the final positioning of the stars. I did read that glitter is 30's "old school" which I find fascinating but still am unable to locate from my course book or the available ceromancy books which I have when the stars/doves etc were incorporated into the fixing of a vigil candle. It wasn't until I got my excellent and professional interpretations of the burnings that I noted the stars had significant importance in the outcome. Stars remained at the top, were side by side on the bottom, one on top of herbs, one with 'some' herbs on top of it, candles burned for issues concerning 2 people had 3 stars etc etc. Glitter is indeed radiant and reflective but, at the end, are for the most part nondiscernable and therefore not considered a 'sign' as such. But the stars remain a mystery to me, their origin and introduction, their significance as to the outcome. I have perused as many posts as I can for info to avoid duplicating a subject already addressed but come up empty.

I have a couple of simple questions:

Do the glass encased vigil candles that come fixed need to be prepared in any way before they are burned?

Also, besides occasionally reciting a psalm or prayer, does anything else need to be done in order to assure the candle's effectiveness; e.g. a ritual?

koschei: Yes the vigil candles come fixed unless you state otherwise that you would like to fix them yourself, as many do. You can also add a name paper or petition paper to the side or underneath the candle.

Hi talismanpower,

to learn how to best use your candle, start by reading the page on burning candles in the Hoodoo tradition: http://www.luckymojo.com/candlemagic.html. After that, if you still have questions, look through the forum threads dealing with different types of candles in this section: ritual-candles-and-lamps-in-hoodoo,-roo ... ls-f9.html

Finally, if your questions aren't answered within the pre-existing threads, then ask them in the forum, preferably in a thread appropriate to the type of candle you are burning!

Blessings and success in your works.

Hello,

I would like to know, is it recommended to pray over a glass vigil light everyday or is it a personal preference?
E.g. Love Me Candle

Thank you.

Hi cherish,

As far as I understand, it's a personal preference, although others will no doubt have more detailed advice for you. Certainly, constantly fuelling the flame with your prayers can help. That said, the candles are prayed over when they are made, your petition is below or taped to the light and the flame carries your petition to the Powers Above. Therefore, the flame itself acts as a vehicle of your intention in the same way incense smoke carries your prayers to Spirit.

Blessings.

My reader recommended me to buy an Adam and Eve and Return to Me candle. I also got a Stay With Me candle. I'm trying to get my bf to contact me after three weeks of not hearing from him and to keep him close. What order should I burn these candles?

I've been interested in using the Lux Perpetua candles because they look very nice and the Candle Magic page of "Hoodoo in Theory and Practice" says they're popular in Latin American magic. But what exactly are they used for?

I can tell that one of their uses are for devotion to and petitioning Christ and Mary, but do they have specific uses beyond those?

Does the vigil candle go out by itself at the end?
The base of the glass gets pretty hot towards the end, so is it safe to leave the petition paper and photo below the candle till the end? (i kept our photo and petition below the glass encase vigil candle)
What should i do with the petition paper and photo after the vigil candle is done?

Thank you.

With the glass vigils I burn, I tape the petition to the side of the candle. I have not ever had a problem with this. I suspect that placing the petiton under the candle will also not be a problem, since the side of the glass actaully gets hotter than beneath it, since heat rises.

The vigil candles do go out on there own between 5 to 7 days.

The traditional disposal of the pictures and petiton paper is more of a deployment, sending the spell to work on its own.

My apologies if this question is in the wrong place or has been asked before. I searched and could not quite find what I was looking for.

I understand the "3 day, 3 weeks, 3 months" guidelines when doing work, and I realize it is not a hard fast rule, but a way of seeing how your work is progressing. I also understand backing up work that you are doing by working in tandem with a worker and one of you will take the lead. You do the work and they back it up or vice versa.

My question is this: how does reinforcement of the work come into play?

For example, let's say I do a commanding skull candle, or a breakup kit. How would I know if the work requires reinforcement and when would I perform the reinforcement? I realize the work is not instantaneous, so would I follow the 3x3x3 guidelines and perhaps reinforce the work after 3 days, or 3 weeks? Would reinforcement involve performing the same work again or perhaps attacking it from a different angle?

I know that sometimes one working is sufficient while in more complex situations it could require different works to cover all the bases.

I did not see anything in Miss. Cat's book so I thought I would ask my questions here. Thank you so much for your assistance.

Thank you Mama Micki for the response. I do have a worker doing my work as my situation is complex. My question was more for my own knowledge as I am always trying to learn. I do not like to bother my rootworker with too many questions, so I thought I would ask here.

I was wondering the same thing...would vigil candles or oil lamps be considered good reinforcement/back-up? Maybe baths and oils? This is such good question!

My question is this: how does reinforcement of the work come into play?
When I say "backing up" spell work I mean "reinforcing," and vice versa. Either can be done by yourself or by your rootworker -- that is, you can work on it as a team or you can do it all.
For example, let's say I do a commanding skull candle, or a breakup kit. How would I know if the work requires reinforcement
Reinforce your work if the results of the initial spell are weak, tepid, meh, or evanescent.
and when would I perform the reinforcement? I realize the work is not instantaneous, so would I follow the 3x3x3 guidelines and perhaps reinforce the work after 3 days, or 3 weeks?
Assuming a normal capacity for faith and patience, wait until you see the work is falling short. This assumes that you see no really frightening or crushing contraindications, such as a Reconciliation candle resulting in a restraining order from your target.
Would reinforcement involve performing the same work again or perhaps attacking it from a different angle?
I would (perhaps) be more inclined to repeat the work -- turn one candle into a series, say -- if we saw some signs or movement. Otherwise, I would probably try a different kind of work. Not even necessarily a Reconciliation honey jar instead of more Reconciliation candles: I might need to do healing and blessing work, tie a man's nature, or hotfoot a love rival, for instance, before I had a clear field for Reconciliation work.

Hope this helps,

Jules6186: I will do this as well. I usually form a triangle of 4" tapers around a lot of the vigil candle work I am doing, dressing them in the same way I used to dress the vigil itself. I use a regular upright triangle for drawing/positive work and an upside down triangle for banishing/negative works.

I also add symbols (like hearts) around the sides of the tealights with a red or pink sharpie. Every little bit helps.

Hi Fresh_Start,

The actions of the two formulas are similar (same family), some of the ingredients differ and the choice of one over the other tends to come down to the practitionner's personal preference. As stated in the description of Jinxing products which should help further clarify the difference: ''Jinxing is similar to Crossing a person, and the word "jinxed" is sometimes used as a synonym for "crossed," but jinxing is more often done to steal or to destroy someone's luck than to doom or curse them.''

Hello everyone. I am burning a vigil candle in my home in sections. I was wondering once the candle is finished, how do I dispose of the glass candle holder? I was reading about how to dispose of leftovers properly but didn't see anything on the actual glass. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you :-)

Hello, beautifulcreole1 ,
I usually don't dispose of my glass candles. I recycle them
I just clean them out and save them for a rainy day.
If you decide to re-use them, make sure that you also clean it out spiritually with Chinese Wash or 4 Thieves Vinegar.
Hope this helps
Take care

I am 6 months pregnant and have been dealing with the same man since i found out. its not his child biologically. he has 2 sons from a previous relationship and still has feelings for his ex unfortunately. i want a relationship with this man and i have burned come to me candles and santa martha candle which are clear. last night i burned a red male and red penis candle dressed with conquering love, fast luck, follow me boy, bend over and domination oil. i carved my name and his name on both candles and lit them both on top of his picture. did i do this correctly? i really need help on how to get him to come to me and be with me, recently he barely even talks to me. my candles have been burning pretty fast finishing about 2-3 days before they are supposed to. today i lit another santa martha candle and it formed 2 wicks. what does that mean? and the penis candle just went off this afternoon and its been burning since last night. .....i hope im not confusing anyone, im sorry lol. im just really eager and anxious and hormonal. HELP PLEASE. -Bri :)
Thank you la madama, oshun, and santa martha for everything. <3

Hello, brianaw ,
I would strongly suggest a reading from either an AIRR member of a Hoodoo Psychic to fid out what's really going on. This sounds complicated an seems like more is missing to this story. The psychics can tell you the whole truth.

I have a friend who I want to lose interest in someone. I do not wish to break them apart if I don't have to. I just want the boyfriend/girlfriend relationship interest to go away and have them just be friends. Is there any candle here for this?

Influence Products would be something to consider. There are Fixed Influence Candles you can purchase and burn at home, or, you can purchase an Influence Setting of Lights Service.

Can anyone recommend a good way to dispose of glass novena candle holders? (The kind for novenas and also vigil candles like for road opening, etc.) Does LM reuse these? I am starting to amass several of them, and it has been nice having a few around but I think I may quickly reach the point where it's nice to have one that I've worked with recently around for awhile and then let go of it. However, I don't want to do anything to jeopardize the work either, so I would greatly appreciate any advice about that. Thanks in advance.

Recycling the glass is a environmentally respectful way of disposing of them dave peterson; and it won't affect the work in any way.

Take them to hospitals to be used as vases. They seem to really appreciate them.

Also, can I burn a COS, Dr. Jose Hernandez Vigil candle, and a Road blocker candle at the same time? When i burn them, is it alright for them to be near one another or should i wait for one to completely burn out, and then start on the next one?

the church I believe light different candles at the same time so sure

however I would personally do an uncrossing bath. light a road open candle, do a reading via AIRR or HooDoo Pyschics asking about the wax or anything that might have happened while that wasz burning, and go from there. do you will know if there are obstacles to tackle before starting adding work. you know what I mean?
