1) No, i don't. Folks keep asking about "stronger" and i keep saying "nope." Some day i hope everyone will get it that hoodoo is not a role-playing game with "power levels" and "strength levels." THINK. If you had no river, you would use a crossroads. Neither is "stronger." One is possible, the other may not be. THINK. Think of history, regionality, family traditions.

1) There are no Psalms in which 'it says 'Jesus' or 'the father son and Holy Spirit' or asks you to baptize a skull." That's because the Psalms are in the Old Testament, viz. the Tanakh. If you don't like Christian African American folk magic, please leave this Forum. You came here, we did not come to you. Getting back to your skull work -- did you know why the place that Jesus was crucified is called Calvary or Golgotha? It means "the place of the skull" -- and the skull is said in Christian tradition to have been Adam's skull, that is, the place where Rabbi Jesus was killed is said to have been right on the spot where Adam, the first man, was buried.

And that's why I said, since none is stronger than the other, bury the remains at a grave since it's the easiest way for me to dispose of it.

And I understand what you're saying now. There's no one stronger or more powerful than the other. I guess what makes me question those little things so much is because there's so many different ways to dispose, so many different ways to anoint, petition, pray, etc... It becomes a thought that perhaps certain ways worked "better" or "stronger" for people.

1) So now do I go to a persons grave that I feel drawn to and put some dimes in and pray and ask the spirit to carry out the work for me? Or bury it anywhere in a grave without it needing to be a persons grave? Because I'm burying the 2 skull candles to represent the death of their relationship and the vinegar jar along with it. Just want to make sure I am on the right track when I go to the cemetery after this spell.

2) So to baptize a skull candle, how would you go about it from my stand point?

1) Again, it depends on what you are trying to accomplish. I already replied to this, and i was pretty clear.

I wrote: "Never bury anything in a graveyard without full consideration of what you are doing and why. If you don't know why, don't do it. Basic things to consider: Is your intention to bury him or is your intention to have spirit hold him down? (Don't reply; i am asking you to ask yourself.) Your intention will lead you to decide how to do the work. I cannot choose for you. You will choose for yourself."

Again, When you bury the skull candle remnants, either you are burying the person or you are calling upon a spirit of the dead to hold the person down. Did you make a choice?

If you made a choice, you will logically uncover your plan of action, because which you choose to do (and you can choose either) will determine which FORM you follow. If you are burying the person represented by the skull candle, you may dig the person a grave. If you are calling upon a spirit of the dead to hold down the person represented by the skull candle, you must make contact with that spirit and determine a price to be paid (usually in coins) for the work.

Now i will not reply to your further questions about this. You have had your answer and it is done.

2) I have no idea. As a Jew myself, i regularly call upon the spirit of Jesus in my work, just as i call upon David, Solomon, Moses, Miriam, Elijah, and my more recent ancestors. I regularly petition the spirit of Dr. Jose Gregorio Hernandez for medical assistance for my clients. I call upon the spirit of Frederick Douglass for justice. I invoke now upon you the powerful spirits of Joshua Trachtenberg, Alan Dundes, and Gershom Scholem to guide you!!

Is there any examples I can read or watch of how you call upon spirits to pray? I never prayed, like at all.

And thank you for calling guidance upon me, as you see desperate times call for desperate measures lol

Then again I have no clue how I have these magical abilities just by simply holding an oil...as you read in the other thread. I have the power but don't have the guidance sadly.

Hello !

I have just bought three skull candles for a love spell, but I have some questions about it...
I bought three small candles because I can't burn a big skull candle as it should work for days and here at home I can't let my parentes see it... Can I light small skull candles for 7 days? It would be one candle each day, but all for the same goal, is it possible?

I will also be starting a honey jar... is there any problem if I light a skull candle and a candle on the honey jar at once? Will it send different energies?

I've completed my skull candle ritual and I've buried the remains wrapped in my beloveds underwear in my front garden. I just feel like I should do something more like feed the area where the skull candle is buried with sachet powder while I pray over it on MWF. Am I just doing unnecessary things? I just feel like there's more for me to do.

I did IT. I only had 3min before 12a I lit a cigar, sprinkled "love me" powder, prayed as I exhaled and I feel so much better. I even sprinkled rose petals from my rose bush. I will continue this every MWF until I feel I've done enough. It just felt right to be able to talk to him from my heart.

I'll keep everyone posted on my added step for any movements or signs

Sometime I see on the Internet people making skull candle spells, and they surround the skull candle with other candles (3, 4, 7 candles)
What do these candle mean? How can I use them to make my magic stronger? Should I annoint them with oils too?

Hello root,

I'd be interested to see what other people say about this topic, but I'd say part of it comes down to stylistic differences between rootworkers. Some people get into their work more when more candles are involved, some like to keep things simple. When I use candles around another larger candle, it's often for a specific purpose, for example if I'm wanting to put more influence on a skull candle. For me, the image of the skull candle surrounded by small candles (yes, dressed with a condition oil), emphasizes in my mind that my influence is surrounding the person the skull candle represents. Or if I'm doing a protection spell, and I surround a larger candle representing the person being protected with other candles dressed with protection-type oils, I can more easily imagine a barrier of protection surrounding that person. See what I mean? I think it just depends on the worker, and sometimes, the specific spell they're doing.

So, I'd say, think about what you're doing and what you're trying to accomplish, and think about the image that the candle layout will create, and go from there.

OMG Y'all!!! (I'm from Texas so pardon the informal intro) A few posts up, you'll see my post from Monday about my skull candle deployment. Okay Tuesday my beloved stopped by, we made love, i layed ALL the tricks I could think of on him, in him (menses infused coffee) and on his vehicle. I used a white skull candle bc I wasn't sure how intense I needed to hit him this first go around. I've gotten a red skull this go around...I need to turn up the heat. Today marks only 11 days of having my oils/powders and I'm so grateful. Don't get me wrong, I still have my "down" days but thanks to all the good energy and helpful members, I'm staying on track on getting to the bigger picture.

Ttmarie I know how it is starting out so I'll try to keep my progress posted as much as possible. I'm keeping a journal of EVERYTHING so my work is documented. I didn't start off doing that but it's extremely important to document signs, supplies, dates, movement...my attitude and energy. Thank you Miss Athena. Nothing has happened since Wednesday and I'm still doing my red skull candle at night. I also have a white vigil candle dressed with female empowering herbs , some Allspice for luck and success in my workings, LM oils and it's burning incredibly fast and clean (didn't start off like that). The red skull is going slow but I have faith in my work so I'm not worried bc my white candle is looking sooo good.

Sooo..small update and question. Started my red candle on Friday and my beloved has been extremely distant. NO CONTACT from him. Wished hin a happy Father's day today and our conversation was forced. He seemed preoccupied but responsive. I asked if he was with someone and he got really irritated and wanted to get off the phone. Is this a side effect from my skull candle? Am I hitting him too hard? Idk what to do now. I didn't get this energy before. Should I stop? Did I lay too many tricks. The menses infused coffee? The love me powder in his boots, socks and work hat? The follow me boy oil on his door handles? I have a picture jar going as well per Cat's instructions and a honey jar that i burn every other day *except for today. Does anyone have experience with the opposite reaction to the work after using a red skull candle? He's been nice, open to communication and receptive to my work up until about 30min ago

It is not uncommon for a target to take a step back like this, especially when there is a lot of work going. You've put it out to Spirit, now sit back and let Spirit decide when or even if it should work. You may be doing things in the mundane world to overwhelm your target as well. Give it space and time and see what happens.

If in doubt, contact someone from AIRR for a reading to understand the impact of your work and the underpinnings of his odd response to you.

Hailey, try your very best to NOT ask your target questions that may cause a negative reaction...you are undermining your work by doing so.

Consider it for a moment...you are working on reconciliation, he's thinking about you more than usual, you spend quality time and then you start pushing questions about if he's with someone that could cause aggravation.

It's hard to fish to information or to remain calm in these situations....bite your tongue, only speak nice things and don't overwhelm your target. Good luck.

Something magical happened ...after I asked him the question and he replied so out of character, I naturally got upset but did it privately. I did text AGAIN smh I know, I know, but it wasn't nasty, I just explained that I was not trying to upset him and to enjoy this beautiful Father's day. I then posted my question here, gently shook my picture jar, prayed and planned to go on with my day. Minutes later he said he needed to see me and we spent a wonderful light hearted day together. It was happy/good energy like old times.

I agree that me fishing for things undermine my own work so I'll stop. I also understand that the flooding of emotions brought on by my work will require me to step back and have faith because it very well may be too much for him. I'm going to speak less forcefully to the skull lol.

Hello! so i burned my first skull candle for an ex lover and something weird happened. I've been burning it for 4 days (it burnt surprisingly fast! the flame was always tall, bright and steady). The fourth day, the wick broke and no matter how many times i tried to fix it, it kept breaking and couldnt finish it. So what's left on my fireproof plate is a huge puddle of wax + the base of the candle with a huge hole (yeah,. the candle burned in a tunneled way). does this mean something? btw i'm sorry for the bad english.

As far as reading the wax left behind, you would want to look at that from the standpoint of what it looks like, what it reminds you of. The reading of candle wax is called ceromancy. It is covered in the book too, although, of course, since reading images is so subjective (like reading shapes in clouds or water or fire colas) there are no hard or fast rules of what the images you see will signify to you.

Good morning all!

First, thanks to all for the great information. It's invaluable. I have been working an improvised skull candle waiting for the arrival of the real deal. It's been two days and I'm using cigars late at night.

For the past two mornings, I have been wide awake at the time my target wakes up for work. This is not, nor has it ever been, my wake up time and I'm on vacation. The only variable here is the skull. Nothing else has changed.

My question is.. Does this happen? Anything could and it could be something clicking around in my mind but believe me.. Waking up with the chickens on my vacation is NOT something I'm trying to do.

I can't wait to get my skull. Who knows what will happen then.

I am about to perform a skull candle spell. I would like to know...

1. Can I write my commands/thoughts over the front of the skulls. Such as.....

2. Am I using myself as the third person?

What you are describing sounds fine to me. You can speak in third person if you want or you can just say "me" while you are talking to the skull candle. Also just like you said you can start talking to the skull tonight!

I am sorry but we do not perform candle interpretations on the forum.

In this instance, I will make this one exception because I know it's not on the candle divination forum.

It has been my experience that when the face is left, it means that they know better but still won't change their mind. When I see this, I repeat the spell.

Then, if the face refuses to burn, I will "doctor" it with a mini torch and force it to melt down. That way I am forcing it to do my bidding

I know there are different colors to perform different types of skull candle spells (i.e., red for love, green for money, purple for power) but if I'm having a hard time finding a purple candle (to put ideas/thoughts into the mind of my target), what is the next best color to use....black? I guess I associate black candles with crossing work but maybe I'm wrong in this case?

I would just pick the oils that seem to best suit your situation. Annoying your scull a little everyday for a week while talking to it telling it what you want. And yes it can work from accross the sea.

I'm just about ready to start my skull candle spell to influence my husband's thoughts. I want him to express remorse and empathy towards me for having cheated on me. I don't feel that he's taken enough responsibility or "owned" his actions yet. I'm having trouble with what to carve on the skull and what to put on my petition paper. Perhaps carve "remorse" "empathy" "sorry" on the skull and then on the petition paper write "I will express remorse and empathy towards _______ for cheating on her." Does this sound effective? I'm having such a hard time with this because I don't want to put too much on one spell.

Hi forum! I have a question and wanted to know if a skull candle would be appropriate...

My boyfriend is going on vacation with a group of friends, and I really want him to ask me to go along with him. He planned this trip before he and I became official, but I reallyyy want to go because I think it would be fun lol. I just don't want to ask him and come across like the needy/clingy gf. Would a skull candle with words like "Take me on vacation with you" etc work? Or is there a different spell that would be better suited for this? I also have a doll baby which I have been speaking to in an attempt to convince him to bring me along

Hello loverlex,

I think a skull candle would work great in this situation, since skull candles are used when you want to influence someone's thoughts or mental state.

I'd recommend sprinkling calamus root chips around the candle and dressing it with these oils:

Hello friends,

I hope everyone is well.

My issue today is that I am planning on doing a skull candle to help someone with substance abuse. I was thinking black because of the influence involved, but maybe white due to it being a health related issue. He also has a nervous issue that I want to work on. The drugs help to calm his anxiety, but I am hoping that the magick will help him work out his issues .

I do understand that he needs to consult a medical professional as well.

Any suggestions you give to me for herbs and oils and skull color would be appreciated. Or if you have another route I should go please let me know.j

Since you're wanting to influence this person for good, not for evil (which is what you'd use black for), I'd say a white skull candle would best suit your situation. If you want to sprinkle an herb on or around the skull candle as your burn it, use eucalyptus:

Im hoping I posted this in the right section if not I apologize!!

I posted previously about a lemon spell i started at home until i could order a LM breakup kit and i appreciated the help I received on the forum thanks! However, 2weeks of working the spell my targets brokeup so i dont need a breakup kit anymore but I did go ahead & order some oils from LM (reconciliation, return to me, & follow me boy) for the male target, we have a 2 year old son and I want us back together. I also ordered a red skull candle but got a call from a nice young lady at LM that the red skull candle was not currently available anymore (she said they have green skull candles but I wasnt sure it would be helpful as green deals with money so i didnt get it cause I want love results). My question is, since i couldnt get the red skull candle from LM can I use red taper candles with the LM oils?

I need advice. I was working on a Red Skull candle for reconciliation and return to me since Friday night. I was lighting it up every night when the target was asleep. Then from about 1am until 615 am when I wake up, I would leave it the the sink in the basement to burn. This morning, I woke up and found out that my room mate did laundry. When I checked the sink the candle was washed over with the laundry water. I rinsed it out thoroughly and dried it off. Then I reapplied the oils and herbs and prayed while doing so stating that it was unintentional and that it was an accident not caused by me. I re-baptized it and lit it again. It burned for a few mins and the flame went out. Since, I have to go to work I cannot relight it now but am thinking of doing so later at night. My questions are:
1) is this a sign for me to stop the work?
2) was my girl under someone else's spell work and was this natures way of cleansing her from that work?
3) was this just a freak accident?
4) should I redo the spell and bury this one, stop the work completely or try to relight the candle and work with it again?

Hello, Newbie ,

I have no idea if this was a sign or what it means.

But my gut says that it was your mistake. You MUST anticipate things that may happen. When you leave the hose, extinguish the candle and hide it.

The candle is no longer any good nor is the spell.

You will have to buy a new one and start all over again.

Just remember: WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES and it is a learning experience (which ultimately makes us better spell casters).

Is it okay if I fix the wick on my healing skull? The wick was almost going to drown and I took some wax out and helped it come back up, it's a high flame now but was that ok to do?

My other candles have been burning clean and one actually (healing blue candle) burned down to a heart. So I've been good signs there but my white skull not so much.... :/

I think helping the skull candle wick was fine to do. Others may disagree with me, but I think it's better to take things into your own hands rather than watching a candle drown.

I can't find anywhere in the thread... Hope someone can answer this...

I am currently doing a skull for healing again, because the first one I had to doctor it... Anyways, I thought I had it perfect with the herbs and healing oil, but I forgot to add the influence oil!! Is it ok if I add it while it's burning? Or atleast one drop? I'm kind of upset at myself, I can't believe I forgot, I thought it was perfect! :-/
