Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
Hello everyone ... I been asking a question for days .. I am aware of the site information but that's not what I am looking for. I am looking for how one fold the name paper after placing name especially when it for someone else.
You should write names of the one you want to be on that person side across and their name going down over those names correct but how you fold the paper .. Toward or away .. Once in half or in 3's . Thanks

Hello, airofwealth ,
You need to read the thread.
For winning (you or anybody that you're doing the spell for), you fold it toward you, turn it to the right and fold it toward you again
For losing, fold it away from you, turn it to the left and fold it away from you
How to write the petition paper? Please read the posts on this thread.
Take care

What do you do with a petition after you've burned a candle on top of it?
Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
apngaa - burn it or keep it. Check the forum either in the search bar or read through the comments, and read the free information on the main site if you'd like answers to questions before asking. There's more than a Bible's worth of information on the site/forums. This is mentioned many times in different places. Good luck,

Hello apngaa,
Shutter gave you a great answer to your question. I'd just like to add that since petition papers are considered spell remnants, they are typically deployed along with the rest of the remnants of the spell. The way that is done depends on the type of spell. To learn more, read this page:
http://www.luckymojo.com/layingtricks.html
Take care.

I want to do a work permit petition for someone I know...The Migration Agency crossed over with the person's name, then a ring around it with "favorhergrantworkpermit". Can I write the casenr "Case xxxxx" outside the ring and below on the right of the petition paper? If NOT, where can I write the case number? Thanks!

There's no reason not to write the case number on the petition.
Did someone tell you it would be wrong?

Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
I'm not sure where to post this exactly so I apologize if this isn't the right place. I decided to do a break up candle spell and I've hit a snag in writing the petition. I have the full names of both of the targets but only have the date of birth for one. Is there another way to work around this or would only having one still work?

thank you! I really appreciate the response. Would the information have to be consistent for both parties? (i.e. DOB to DOB or DOB to current city)

Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
Thanks Cat, I can go ahead with the petition today.
1) I don't know, I've always felt that any messages should be in the "circle", but to come and think of it, symbols and sigills are often written in all corners outside so silly me hehe
2) For health petitions for someone else, can I write his/her name and cross it with a command like "Be healthy stay healthy!" Or should I also include a circle with getwellbehealthystayhealthy ? Thanks for suggestions!

Dear heathfire --
Symmetry between the two petitions does bring a certain sense of fulfillment and "rightness" to some practitioners -- but others work by approximation and do not value symmetry too highly. I recommended my book above because it covers this issue in detail. Consider this a second recommendation for the book.

Dear Moonlightdream --
1) While your feelings are, of course, important to you, it is also wise to know that there are hundreds of ways to write petitions, not just in a circle, and you will learn a lot more about folk magic in general and hoodoo in particular if you take time to learn about the widest range of traditional methods.
2) I would not cross and cover a name on a petition for health for the simple reason that you cannot legitimately command someone to be healthy. Rather, i would create a spiral leading to an outcome (removal of disease) or perhaps an enframing square of support (the names of doctors, nurses, or angelic beings) or, my personal default method, create a paper talisman of two Solomonic sigils for health, each inscribed on the back, and the two glued back-to-back with the client's hair between and placed under the candle. It the work is to be ongoing, i would laminate the paper disk for permanence.
For you too, i recommend the book i have written on this subject. It will answer your questions in detail and will open your eyes to the truly amazing number of possibilities found in conjure and in world-wide folk magic.

I have that book too Cat! Hehe I just looked through the book but I couldn't find the spiral method you mentioned. Are there any links for more specific details or pictures about the spiral to remove illness or enframing square for blessing and health purposes? Although being a member for a long time and frequently reading the forum, this is actually the first time I've read about the spiral method. It's so interesting to always get learn something new!

Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
Hi, Moonlightdream --
The spiral method of making petitions is described and shown on pages 12 and 13 of "Paper in My Shoe." You may have overlooked it because the method originated in ancient times as inscriptions made in shallow clay bowls, and perhaps you thought it had nothing to do with modern magic, but it is still used, and works very well, on other surfaces, such as paper or china ware plates.
The enframing or four-wall method is found on page 67.
Good luck.

Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
I’ve tried searching the forum for an answer to this but have had no luck. Apologies if it’s been asked and answered.
I’m about to start a hex and I’m unsure of whether it’s appropriate to have both a petition paper and a photo/name paper at the same time. Is there such a thing as a petition paper written on the back of a photo - creating a combo paper? If I create and use each separately, would it makes sense to fold the photo/name paper into the petition paper, treating it as a personal concern?
Thoughts and advice would be very appreciated. Best to all.

alexinmadison,
You can write a petition on the back of a photo that is common. Photos are a personal concern but try and get hair, fluid, blood etx

Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
I’ve read several posts on this thread and I think I’m overthinking my question—
1) when it comes to name papers and petition papers in honey jars, is there one that’s more necessary than the other? For example— since it’s a honey jar for love does it have to my ex’s name crossed with my name and “return to me love me” circling our names OR could I write something like “If God wills it John Doe will return to me, love me, and be faithful to me” and just fold it and stick it in the jar?
2) Would Block Buster be okay to use on/in a love honey jar if the target is a little stubborn?

Combing the idea if the name paper and petition is something I’m most definitely interested in— but how do I go about doing such?

inquiringminds128,
I am not sure what your question about petition papers is.. Cat was saying you can write the petition either way If God will or go with a simple statement of come to me and love me, crossing the names in the middle. I go with a simple statement. then you fold it towards you turn it to the right fold again and turn to the right once more.. Going to the right is to draw things to you and folding towards you is to bring things to you as well.

Thanks for that information Cat and J82!
Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
Just a quick question. If I can get the target to write his name 3,7 or 9 times on what will be the petition paper (without his knowledge of what it will be used for, of course), will that be good or will it interfere with the spell work if I don't write his name myself? Thank you?
Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
Rosewood,
Would not effect the work, it would be a form of personal concern, but if you can get him that close and ask him to do that with no issue, then also steal some hair while you are at it, use the hair in the work.

Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
Thanks J82.
I believe that personal concerns are much more effective when given freely by the target.
I have a lot of his blood on tissues that he handed to me. Also he has come back before from the barber and handed me a very generous amount of hair. Also have 3 sets of toe nail clippings. I even have a tiny amount of bone fragment! I've managed to get facial stubble, nose hairs, hair from his back/shoulder, nice amount of pubic hair, and also pure urine. I collect as I can.
I always try to get him to not only hand these to me, but actually verbalise his consent by asking him "can I take this?". Obviously he assumes I am going to throw it away, but bottom line is that he hands it to me and that's consent surely.
I am in the process of preparing to do what I call maintenance work to reinforce my very hard work from 2 years ago which saw him returning to me after a 3 month split (this after he swore up and down that he was done with the relationship and wanted no more contact) . Once he returned he finally committed himself to the relationship even though we had been together 3 years by then. Now he clings to me and wants to get married - this from a commitment phobic man.
I also need to patch up what I see as some holes in previous work.
Thanks again.

Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
Rosewood,
That is a fine belief but it is not a Hoodoo belief. The personal concern is powerful because it is a piece of the person (think contagious magic, they once touched or were a part of it ( hair) ).
Many people take them without notice, because if a person gives it freely then they may know you are doing magic, and no one gives personal concerns freely if you are cursing them.
Then you have sympathetic magic which is like effects like.
Again it's fine if this is your personal structure of magic, its just that it is not hoodoo, in which the power of the concern is effective regardless of its collection system.

Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
Hi, Rosewood,
I think j82 was pointing out an important concept. Your preference that personal concerns be "freely given" has nothing to do with your idea of keeping your work secret. Most practitioners do keep their work secret from those upon whom they are working, and this is the reason that in hooodoo there is no tradition of personal bodily items being "freely given." I mean, how many people will think to freely give you their toenails?
It is often said that coins used in money spells on a mate (to make the mate more financially generous) are more effective if the coins were freely given -- but this does not apply to personal concerns like handwriting, fingernails, sexual fluids, or hairs. Those are usually sneaked.

Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
The best way to learn how to write petitions and prayers is to think of the work as something that you are asking God or the Divine to accomplish for you:
If you want a job, for instance, ask: "May I find a good job at a =good wage with a short commute and a great work environment."
But if you want a SPECIFIC job, ask: "May the HR folks at [Name Of Company] love my resume, call me back, and swiftly hire me as [Name of the Job Position].
Do you see the difference? The first petition is general because the situation is fluid and open. The second petition is tightly focused on one job at one company.
The same kind of narrowing focus, one candle after another, can be used when petitioning for more money, for new love, for a stable relationship, for good luck, or for improved health.
Blessings to you.

Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
Something as simple as "John Doe will return to me, love me, and desire me" finishing up with amen should suffice right? I don't like lengthy petitions, but I want my point to get across lol
Thank you St. Jude! Your help was much appreciated!

Petition styles vary a lot. What sounds right to you may not sound right to another. I am going to give you six ways that your petition might be written, falling into three stylistc groups:
PETITION A HIGHER SOURCE FOR AID
1) "Dear Lord, grant that John Doe will desire me, return to me, and love me. In Jesus' name, Amen."
2) "Grandmother [Name] and Grandfather [Name], as you loved one another in life and were married 70 years and are buried side-by-side, please help John Doe to return to me, love me, marry me, and spend his life with me."
STATE A COMMAND TO THE UNIVERSE
1) "John Doe will desire me, return to me, and love me. Amen."
2) "John Doe will forget all past troubles and will speedily return to me and love me as he did before."
ADDRESS THE SUBJECT DIRECTLY
1) "John Doe, my love, return to me, love me, and desire me!"
2) "John Doe, my darling, forgive our squabbles, forget all other women, and return to me with love and deep desire."
Which style you choose may vary as your moods and circumstances vary.

I can't wait for this hurricane news to past so I can order some more books-- no need to order now knowing this storm is coming and its going to slow couriers down lol

I wish you well as Hurricane Florence blows through your region. You can read more about petitions in my book "Paper In My Shoe." If you enjoy the books i have written and those i publish, you may also want to take the private course i teach in old-style, traditional rootwork. Details about the course are here:

Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
About four months ago, I began doing love work. I did several that required the full name and date of birth of the target. I worked with what I thought was the correct date of birth. I found out today that the date of birth I wrote in my petition(s) was incorrect. I got the month confused.
I'm wondering what happens when you make a mistake on the dates (like this one)
Must I redo the spells or is my "intention" sufficient enough to make it work despite the error?

Tdurden,
I have had weak success or no effect when the birth date or the name was not correct. When i did the work over with the correct information, my results were more sure and satisfying. I speak only for myself here. I would do the work again.

Hello,
Is it ok to rewrite or reword a petition paper for a Vigil candle which has been lit half way through?
Also what should I do with the petition paper after the candle burned completely?
Thank you.

I'm confused about one of my target's names because she seem to have two middle names or either people know her by her middle name and her nickname (I'm not sure if it's her middle name or her nickname)-- my question is since I do know her first name, last name, and DOB can I just use that and not necessarily need the middle name?

CuriousIndigo --
I personally would not rewrite a petition under a candle that is already burning. I do not "repurpose" spiritual goods once i have dedicated them to a specific purpose.
If i feel i lit a candle in error, i will put it out.
If i feel i stated an insufficient petition, i would light another candle.
This is not a rule or law; but it is the way i work.

SagittariusLover128 --
If i do not know the person well and am unsure of his or her legal name, especially if the person uses differing names in different social communities, i use all of the person's known names, nicknames, and variants of spelling -- in other words, more names, not fewer.
However, sometimes, when a person has gone to great trouble to create self-flattering false names in social contexts online, i call out only the simple legal name by which he or she would be booked in court, stripping away the preening peacock names and grand titles that were crafted to serve as insulation against identification.

Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
Hello,
What would be the best way to word a petition? "May my work be valued and appreciated by so and so" (ie this would be the work on myself - Crown of Success?) or "May so and so value and appreciate my work" (ie working on the other person - Boss Fix?). I've been doing this for years, but this got me stumped.
I have two bosses above me and the purpose for this is job security and to get in on the inner circle.
Thank you in advance! Is it okay to have one candle for this one petition mentioning 2 bosses? Thank you!

This may just be me, but both of these sound like they are saying the exact same thing. In both instances the focus is on "so and so" not you.
If you were to say "May my work be meaningful and valuable" THEN the work would be on you - the focus is "my work" or your abilities, versus "so and so". In this case, I would use Crown of Success.
Regarding both of your stated petitions, why not work both crown of success (for you) AND boss fix (on your boss)? Steady Work also comes to mind. I also don't see why you couldn't use both bosses if they both are indeed your superiors , they both play a part in your advancement, and both a part of this "inner circle".
Hope this helps! Good luck!
PS. JayDee gave you a great petition for using with Crown of Success!

Yes! How could I forget "crowned with success" speaking of CoS!
And Steady Work! Definitely what I'm going to add!
Thank you, JayDee and RevJames, for such a quick reply!
Have a great weekend!

Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
Can someone please confirm: if i was to leave "Psalm 70" for example in the petition box when ordering a candle, will the candle deacons actually recite the entire Psalms scripture?
Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
thelight1 ,
They will read whatever fits in the 200 word box provided for the petition. If it wont fit it would be best to pull scripture from it and make a petition using those specific phrases from the bible, or inject the persons name in the versus. Having a clear petition is a great way to get success with work. I read your other post, working with setting candles you can also set a tea light at home or a 4 inch candle dressed with oil, over a petition and recite the Psalms during the time that the church is lighting a candle. This is a normal practice used by people, it backs up the work and you both are doing it at the same time.

Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
thank you jay dee... will do. i have some lucky mojo oils in my cabinet.. (black arts, destruction, crossing, essence of bend over, influence, cast off evil, restless oil, and other love/more positive oils.. yes i am a big LM fan lol).
also, i like the scriptures:
Psalm 109: 6-8
Appoint someone evil to oppose my enemy;
let an accuser stand at his right hand.
When he is tried, let him be found guilty,
and may his prayers condemn him.
May his days be few;
may another take his place of leadership.
Psalm 109: 17
He loved to pronounce a curse—
may it come back on him.
He found no pleasure in blessing—
may it be far from him.
i will find a way to work the enemies name into it.. also, i assume destruction vigil candles from MISC are appropriate with the above petitions? and just submit the woman's (enemy) photo?

Yes you have it and a great collection of oils lol. So replace the pronoun with the persons name regardless of gender so if it is male specific you can swap it female. Great way to use scripture in work and even as a petition.
Psalm 109: 6-8
Appoint someone evil to oppose my enemy Jane Doe;
let an accuser stand at Jane Does right hand.
When Jane Doe is tried, let her be found guilty,
and may Jane Does prayers condemn her.
May Jane Does days be few;
may another take her place of leadership. Amen

Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
Hey all! I’m a newbie. I have 2 quick questions.
1) I’m going to be doing a "drunk in love spell which uses liquor and and requires a name paper. I know their legal name, address everything (even their insurance info lol) but not the exact day of birth (I know the year and month). Can I just use that (John Doe 3/72)?
2) Also, I read maple syrup is a quick working sweetener that I could be added in liquor bottle spells. Could I add that in the jar as well or should I stick to the spell exact?
Thank you very much!

Re: How to Use Petition Papers and Name Papers Questions and Answers
Hello, Missjess21 -- and welcome to the Lucky Mojo Forum.
1) Yes, you can can use a partial birthdate. If you get the book i wrote, "Paper In My Shoe," it has a whole chapter about what to do if you don't know the name. For instance, make the connection stronger by writing on a photo, or use descritive language or little icons. "John Doe of Petaluma, California, born in March of 1972, who lives on Mill STreet" is a better link than "John Doe 3/72" Merely by the time and attention it takes you to wrte it, your spirit is focucussing on a search for his spirit somewhere in the world, and you are linking to him.
2) Calling any type of sweetener "quick acting" or "slow acting" sounds like the kind of play-magic one often hears on the internet or from "spell designers" who publish cute little books for teen witches. Maple sugar is sweet and will dissolve into alcohol. You are making a sweetening spel in some sort of potable alcohol. That is sufficient.
Now, what is more important from a magical point of view -- will you be praying over the bottle and then feeding the dosed alcohol to the person whom you wish to sweeten? That, more than creating cute little crafty spells, is what will win the day.
P.S. -- Read this thread from page 1 and you may get a lot more ideas -- and you may wish to buy these two inexpensive books that provide hundreds of traditional African American spells for working with papers and with sweeteners:

I just want to say THANK YOU to the staff for my reports. All of my reports for my candles have been consistent with each other. They also are consistent with my reading that I received from Lady Muse. The reports are so helpful and helped me confirm what my next steps should be. Thanks again

sorry again an beginner question. On the jinxkiller candle is written that i should after burn the candle, war the petiton papler in shoes.
