Hi inajam,

Welcome to the forum.

We can't comment on what happened with outside spellcasters and why your work with them failed. There are many unscrupulous "practitioners" out there who prey on customers and promise outcomes that they insist only they can create. And they'll throw bogus words like "guaranteed" into the mix, which no reputable professional will ever promise. Please read this page on how to spot these fraudulent hucksters and protect yourself from them:
http://www.luckymojo.com/blackgypsies.html

This is a forum for advice and information on using products from the Lucky Mojo Curio Company. I can advise you on your questions related to the work you did yourself using Lucky Mojo products.

God answers everyone's prayer and sometimes that answer is "no". Just because the spell you did yourself did not render your desired outcome does not necessarily mean it failed. It may mean that you got your answer and it's time to move on. I personally remove the word "fail" from my vocabulary, unless I am sure I made a mistake with the spell then I start it over correctly.

You ask that if something is meant to be then why bother with spells and rootwork. The answer is simple...if an authentic reader indicates that something appears likely to happen, then you can use spiritual means to help clear the road toward that outcome. If something is "meant to be" that is no indication that it will "be" tomorrow, in a month, or a year from now. It also does not promise the road will be clear along the way and that no interference will emerge, whether spiritual or mundane. It also does not mean that it will manifest in the same form that you desire. Magic can smooth through the rough spots, expedite the good things, and generally bring you to that goal in better shape than you might have been in otherwise.

If you are unclear on why you get signs along the way that feel negative or like obstacles, it is best to get a reading from a reputable professional. You can find them on the following links. They are respected practitioners within the hoodoo community.
www.readersandrootworkers.org/
www.hoodoopsychics.com

They can help to clarify a likely outcome, the obstacles along the way and recommend any rootwork that can help you clear your path.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

inajam,

The question is, "is everything based on fate", or do we have "free will", can be discussed and interpreted on a theologian perspective, some are Calvinist and think we are living a life that is preordained before birth and things will happen regardless of our own planning and doing. Others will argue we have free will and things happen in response to our decisions, however God is not subject to time, therefore he sees or knows what we will choose. Free will also does not mean God does not intervene and has free will as well. I personally go with free will and I use a few Bible versus that support me: James 4: 2-3, you do not have because you do not ask, or right motive ( free will of you and God), Matt 7 9-10 if you ask for bread God does not give you a rock or a snake. Matt 7:7- ask you shall receive ( the free will that includes us praying and asking for it or not get it), Isaiah 65 how we have choice to follow God but choose not to ( free will).

I believe somethings are fate as it is clear in the Bible such as Jesus coming, and the end times discussed, those are fated items. But other items we have free will in them.

Not meant to be in a hoodoo perspective is that God is the ultimate decider and can say no to a request. Magic, hoodoo, any art or practice has no 100% guarantee because of this. Sometimes it is our own sin, our own motive for asking that gets in the way of Gods way and the answer is no. Sometimes we have crossed conditions that exist that prevent us from getting the desired results from the work.

In Genesis God tells Adam he has the lands of the sea, sky and earth and all the seed, this indicates the importance of using authentic items and understanding why they use them. There is an idea called the Doctrine of Signature that Gods signature is placed on every animal, root, curio telling how it works, it was first used in medical practice such as a cut carrot looks like the inside of an eye, carrots are good for vision. This same concept applies to hoodoo and Gods signature is on items and how they are worked. Yes authentic items are necessary, otherwise it is no longer hoodoo but more of a new age thought concept of positive reinforcement, vision boards, and if these were true then every little girl that dreamed of being a princess with a knight would have them by now.

inajam,

I suspect that the person you call a "caster" is a scam. Real magicians, sorcerers, root doctors, conjures, rootworkers, witch doctors, hoodoo ladies, spiritual workers, and others who do altar work or spell-casting for clients do not call themselves "casters." That's a childish name, taken on by people afraid to say what they really are. I am sorry you lost money, but that is sometimes the price we pay for trusting the wrong people.

By the way, there is no one "from here" to cast spells for you. Many professional rootworkers do inhabit this Lucky Mojo shop forum, but you must hire them on their own, either via their own web sites or at one of the large directory sites, such as
The Association of Independent Readers and Rootworkers (AIRR), at
http://readersandrootworkers.com

Okay, so on to your questions, and i hope my replies are meaningful, always remembering that they are one folk magician's opinion.

1) I don't believe in all this "meant to be" versus "not meant to be" stuff, and i never have. I believe we have the power to effect change, but just like a man trying to lift a ton of iron, some loads are too big to lift, and some energies are too heavy to shift. Also, if not too heavy, the condition may be of too long standing -- and, like stage 4 cancer, which is beyond the doctor's ability to cure, some situations are too far gone to retrieve. Then there is the question of opposition. You may be able to run a mile, but if someone pushes against you and trips you up, you may not be able to run at all -- and there are many people who fight on the spiritual plane, or via rootwork, to preserve their way of life, or to hold on to what they've got, and you may not be able to overthrow them, even with a spell. Finally, God has the final word, and if two people pray for opposite outcomes, God will favour one and not the other. None of these explanations have to do with "fate" in any way!

2) There are many forms of magic. Folk magic, no matter of what culture, always makes use of real objects, often called curios. We here are studying and using folk magic, specifically African American hoodoo. In our tradition, certain herbs, roots, minerals -- and products made from or with them -- act as allies or spiritual helpers. In addition, certain colours, scents, and times of the clock or of the calendar may add power to our work, and of course we also use prayers, both scriptural and from the heart, to lend power and focus to our work.

3) If i were you, i would do a divination on that question. Some spells are not worth attempting (think: too heavy, too far gone) and ought not be attempted. Having two different spells fail to win your objective may be enough for you. I usually try three times, unless i draw the 4 of Cups (in the tarot) or 4 of Hearts (in playing cards) -- in which case i will try four times. I also set myself a firm time limit and do not endlessly repeat a spell or endlessly attempt many spells to achieve an elusive outcome.

Good luck.

Thank you for these responses. A couple questions:

1) If me doing the work resulted in no movement, thus the answer is “move on”? I used a reconciliation honey jar. Have areconciliation spell kit, but wondering if I should scrap this. And/or try a different one, etc. Or do the reading first, then proceed.

2) What did JayDee mean by “crossed conditions”? Is that obstacles in the way of the goal that are just plain insurmountable?

Sometimes I wonder if the best spell for me is to be less hopeful and optimistic. It’s so hard for me to give up on goals...

inajam --

1) I think you need some coaching. Setting a time limit and determining how many spells you will do during that time-frame is a BASIC of all folk magic spell casting and is especially well understood in hoodoo. If you need a coach or a reading, you can hire one through AIRR, the Association of Independent Readers and Rootworkers, here:

Category:Magical Coaching and Spiritual Advice
http://www.readersandrootworkers.org/wi ... ual_Advice

2) Guessing at what the terms of a folk magic system mean, as you did, is not useful. Every system has its own terms of art -- makt and tydor are terms from trolldom, ayin hara comes from Jewish folk magic, susto comes from curandismo, and crossed conditions is a term found in hoodoo. Read more about it here, in my free online book "Hoodoo in Theory and Practice":

CROSSING and CROSSED CONDITIONS
http://www.luckymojo.com/crossing.html

Good luck in your studies and best of luck in your reconciliation work. Be of good hope, work within your time frame, and may your wishes come true.

1) How does one know for sure if it was the hoodoo that brought the results?

Lovers do come back, people do win money, annoying neighbors do move away....

2) How do you actually know if it was the spell or just a coincidence?

I’d like to believe all my hoodoo in the past was what brought the results, but sometimes I wonder.

I haven’t even started my love spells on my current target, and I’ve already seen tons of signs. This is what is encouraging me to start the spellwork to get things moving.

1) Well, how do you know for sure it was God who answered your prayers?

2) A spell expresses a desire, as does a prayer. Meaningful coincidences can be a way for prayers and spells to take shape. Give yourself a ten year break from all prayers and magical spells and watch to see if the "coincidences" hold up or if they fade away. Then use spells and prayers again for the next ten years. Which decade was happier for you? Try it -- and you will have settled your doubts.

I apologise if this isn't the best place for this topic, or if has been asked and answered already. I chose this topic because it is where I am having issues with, myself.

What is your opinion on when a spell / ritual / work does not, well, work? Was the intent misplaced, not clear enough, or not strong enough? Were the wrong materials used? Or was it simply not meant to be?

This is mainly a general question on opinions, for my souring and honey jars haven't been going long enough for a good example, but I would love to hear from others.

arepperson89,

Your question can have many answers and many reasons, one or two is not easy. But I can give some reasons why they did not, or do not work as well as some links that may assist you with further learning about the topic.

Your intent or petition may not be clear enough which is why the work is not done. Maybe asking for it in such a specific way that it made it hard for the work to manifest. Many people get stuck on "how it will happen", not allowing it (Magic) to take the path of least resistance and just manifest. Focus, prayer, intent, your own magical ability all play in how a spell will work. The authentic materials used and using authentic spells. Many people come to Lucky Mojo with a spell they found on the internet that claims to be hoodoo and often time the spell uses ingredients wrong, and is mixing other methods with the hoodoo spells. There can be more going on in the situation (assuming you are asking for a specific lover), such as another lover in their life, work needs to be done to address both issues. God said no, because ultimately he is the decider. It is also good idea to get a reading to see what work should be done. A reading is like seeing a doctor at an office, he reads whats wrong, gives you a list of things to do to get better. Same in hoodoo the root worker will read the situation and determine what to do to fix it.

JayDee,

Thank you! You provided some wonderful information and links!

The two jars that I am working on have not been going long enough for me to decide that they have or haven't worked yet. More or less, I was curious about what people thought about when their work (or even someone else's) fails.

I will read up on those links, one I'm back home.

Thanks again!

arepperson89 ,

I understand your question, I tried to answer that, some reasons I feel peoples work fail is because they did not use the proper items, used a bad or poorly planned spell, not patient enough, expect it to be instant like a movie, God says no, they may have not focused, prayed, put their effort into it.

I have found over the years that divination is key to telling me if something will work. I have done work with signs in the cards that were not good, I took the chance anyway, did the work and didnt get results or had mixed results. Other times when the cards were positive the work happened.

Same with signs, if I am seeing them and seeing movement I often see the outcome, but if I do not get signs or movement then it generally does not happen. Why again? well many reasons I mostly chop it up to God said no. I also can eliminate external reasons such that I use only high quality items, I use only lucky mojo oil and products, I use authentic spells and have been trained in the work.

Another reason I see failure in work by people is effort. Many people do one spell expect it to happen and stop working. It is called "root work", meaning to work the root, it takes time and energy. People get busy, some get lazy, some change their mind, and they simply do not put the longterm effort needed into the work.

Your items are new which to me would mean to not worry if they will work or not, but believe that they will, the Bible is clear on the importance of believing, he even says you do not have because you do not ask, and oh yee of little faith. Work the jars regularly, dont worry about how long you work it, focus on working the jar, praying, stating the petition, reading scripture relating to it and then at the end accepting the work is done.

Work can also take variable times. I've seen work happen instantly, I've seen work take months. I hope this helps!

Nothing that I do seems to be working at the moment. I'm not sure why.

Not even the most simple call me spell works or any other spell for that matter. These are all spells that I've tested in the past and worked for me.

I am looking into freezer spells, but I'm not sure what's wrong with me. That's why I decided to ask for help.

Thank you Miss Catherine.

I had another reading today, more in depth than the last one and we found out that this woman is relentlessly trying to break us up.
Not only she has cast break up spells for my relationship with my beloved, she has done some dark stuff to me and she might have a poppet of my beloved.

I’m honestly at a loss. I don’t know what to do. This woman is destroying my life and my beloved life.
The thing is that she doesn’t even love him, she just wants the money and the security that he can provide.

I was thinking of getting Fiery Wall of protection, at least 3 candles to be burned continuously.
But I wonder, what can I do for the poppet?
My beloved is in a lot of pain and she has made him completely unstable. She has him under her thumb, he’s literally prevented from reaching out to me/talk to me. He’s only allowed to look at my pictures. He’s very distressed emotionally because there’s a lot of love between us.
Please do help me figure out what’s the best strategy to get rid of this woman forever!

As I said, she must have a poppet, not for love but for domination and to hurt him, and she could be working with lower entities like demons.
Please help me

Also, she’s the reason why I lost my job and why I got in a horrible accident on Valentine’s Day that got me a concussion.
We also saw that this woman has some sort of mental illness, she has no feelings whatsoever and might be some sort of a psychopath.

Natalee8888 ,

Do to the complex nature of your situation, I would advice working with an AIRR member who can perform spell work to remove the curses, to cleanse and remove the doll-baby affects.

AIRR: http://www.readersandrootworkers.org/wi ... ootworkers

In a general sense you would want to cleanse yourself, cleanse your loved one, do to the work I would suggest the 13 herb bath for 13 days, along with a total house cleanse, followed with the use of the Fiery Wall of Protection spell kit to protect against the work. You may also want to work with the Uncrossing spell kit and use it specifically for breaking the doll-baby.

Uncrossing Kit: https://www.luckymojo.com/spell-uncrossing.html
Fiery Wall of Protection kit: https://www.luckymojo.com/spell-fiery-w ... ction.html

I don’t suppose anyone works pro-bono?
This woman took EVERYTHING away from me and now I only have 200$ to spend on this. I have no more money.
I have nothing left. I’m desperate.

Re: Theories About How and Why Magic or Psychism Works or Fails

Unread post by IndiaT » Wed Oct 25, 2023 5:30 pm

Why are Virgos so hard to do spell work with?

For reference, I am a taurus woman and he a Virgo male attempting a reconciliation spell to renew a friendship. The s#xual energy always came easy but something is always...off. And now, I'd rather just have the friendship than anything but my jars (which tend to be my strong point) seem to not work, DESPITE excellent candle work and reading.I have been practicing for years and for some reason when trying to do work on him, it seems to NEVER work.

I also tried to assist a friend with work against a virgo female and had no luck either.

Is this typical or common with the sign?

Hello, IndiaT --

You are not the only one who has noticed that it is difficult to successfully cast effective coercion spells on Virgo people. This is something that comes up quite frequently among readers also -- Virgo people are a bit more difficult to read than other signs. It is not that they are stubborn and slow to adapt or change (like Taurus people) or well protected by their natural sense of self (like Leo people) -- they just sort of dodge away. I think it is their cautious, orderly, flexible minds. When something takes place that seems unnatural or unusual to them, their spiritual senses are alerted, and they dodge to avoid it. That's the best i can say to explain it.

Thank you so much JayDee.

I guess my frustration is not so much the feelings. I’ve been able to move on from this person and it’s not a problem. The frustration I have is in doing my part by making sure I do my readings before pursuing the person. After doing my readings through AIRR I was was told that this person is attracted to men and that he likes me. I was also told that there is a very good chance we would end up together based on the cards pulled in the reading.

Although I know that results from spell work cannot be guaranteed under any circumstance, my question is why would the pendulum say yes to these questions and why would the tarot cards pulled confirm and back up the pendulum‘s yes when in fact, the answer was no all this time? It’s not the first time I’ve had this happen where a pendulum and the cards pulled got it wrong.

johnnyr860,

Unfortunately, readings are not 100% accurate, and anyone who promises needs to be more accurate and real to you. Also, people have free will, and things can change. For example, what if the person is curious but not out or comfortable with it yet? The cards pick up his attraction, but the free will to not act on them is his decision.

Another example that has happened to me when a reading was "wrong" was that I was asking about a specific person, but the cards were reading about someone else. Real story from my younger years I had a reading about me and an ex, confirmed back together described the person etc. A month later the ex and I were not together but I met a new person who was exactly as described in the cards by my reader.

The other reason can be as simple as the questions asked, sometimes the way a question is asked matters. "does joe like me", well yes he does like me, as a coworker; "is joe attracted to me sexaully?" well that is a different question.

This podcast is about how and why people use the ancient Four Elements theory in reading for clients and in choosing which spells to cast. Included are examples of magical herbs, roots and minerals that align with each of the Four Elements.
