Road Opening for New Paths in Spells for Family Money Love Spirituality School

I have a quick question for anyone who feels so inclined to answer.

Over the past 6 months or so, my life and my career had been stagnating and I was desperate for some change. Thus, I did some ritual candle work asking Papa Legba to open the door to some new roads for me. The very next day my work called me and out of the blue offered me an opportunity to spend several months in San Francisco working on a spectacular project. I won't go into specifics, but it involves Star Wars. Enough said.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions regarding what I should do specific to hoodoo?

This thread is somewhat off-topic. Voodoo and Hoodoo are not the same. Voodoo is a Haitian religion and Hoodoo is a folk magic tradition that originated with African-American Christians. Papa Legba is part of Voodoo, not Hoodoo.

Spels relevenat to hoodoo that involve career chnge might make use of Crown of Success, Master, and Steady Work products.

Right now I am working on writing a novel and currently have a Crown of Success mojo hand and Money Drawing mojo. I have this "vision board" that I post different things I would like in my life (the main thing being a larger house of course). I was just wondering if there was anything else I could do for inspiration, to kind of put a fire under me to get more writing done and get these dreams realized and have them come to fruitation.

would someone please detail the main differences between john the conqueror and road opener?
because both seem to work for similar purposes...

i understand road opener as removing blockages
ad john the conqueror is to conquer something
however, both seem to deal with opening a road in order to get something

also, is it more appropriate to use if you are a male?

I actually love mixing those two together - it's a great combo!

John the Conqueror has a wider application then Road Opener though, it's not just about conquering things that stand in your way, it can be for increasing personal power, boosting male nature, providing extra sex appeal, drawing money and luck, giving a commanding presence, and adding extra "oomph" to just about anything.

It's traditionally a "male" root, but many women (myself included) use it with great results. If you're a very feminine and soft person, then you may wish to go with Queen Elizabeth root for personal empowerment over John the Conqueror, but you could still make use of John the Conqueror for other things - like conquering obstacles.

Just get both of whatever you want to use - incense, oil, powder - and then mix them together while praying your intent. That's it! No need to overcomplicate things.

If you want to have a vigil with both, order the fixed Road Opener vigil and in your order notes ask that they add John the Conqueror oil to it as well. They will do that for you. Or if you're fixing your own vigils, just use both oils - though I'd use the orange colored vigil since the core intent is Road Opening (as opposed to the purple that would normally go with just John the Conqueror).

John the Conqueror Oil, at least as made by Lucky Mojo, has a deep, dark earthy smell that you might find rather strange with the bright and citrusy Road Opener. You might consider that when deciding how to use the two product lines together. A John the Conqueror root dressed with Road Opener, maybe? or included in a Road Opener mojo hand?

jazzie, Asking what the difference is between John the Conqueror and Road Opener is like asking what's the difference between a fist and a broom.

Van Van is used for similar purposes as Road Opener and in fact is a lot more like Road Opener than Van Van or Road Opener are like John the Conqueror, either in scent or intent.

The scent of John the Conqueror oil mixes better with the scnet of Van Van Oil than it does with Road Opener Oil, in my opinion, but mixing Road Opener with Van Van is more intuitive, as a fragrance blend.

I have to chime in and say I have had my MOST incredible, quick-acting, success from spell-work when combining John the Conqueror Root and Road Opening products. The two seem to go together very well for me. I have added John the Conqueror chips to my road opening candle work...or dress the candle with John the Conqueror Root oil. I may even dress a whole J the C root and carry it on me while the vigil burns down, essentially keeping a piece of the spell-work close to me, in my pocket.

I don't know if it is part of the Van Van spell kit, but it shouldn't be a problem. A crossroads is where any two paths,roads, or streets cross, in an X or + shape. There has to be one in walking distance from your home.

1) John the Conqueror is not notably a root used for "Road Opening, New Paths, and Life Changes" -- it is used for maximizing personal power and bringing in good luck, so setting it up here in supposed "opposition" to Road Opener implies a false dichotomy that is not found in traditional conjure. I was given insight that I'd flourish if I were to move south or south west (NC, SC, GA, FL, or TX, NM). Or maybe south and then west, idk, but I trust wholeheartedly the inspiration to do so although I am not in the best position financially and supportively to move at this present moment.

I would like some recommendations about how to receive spiritual insight into which state/area I am to go to, the proper steps which are needed to do so without added stress, and also the timing (i.e. this summer, next summer), among other things.

I am a single widowed parent and also without a mate at this point, so knowing whether or not I am supposed to find my mate first is also something I can inquire to Spirit about during this work.

What products, prayers, and candle types would you recommend to obtain some sort of clarity and direction to open the roads to this transition and make the move as smoothly as possible? Thank you in advance for your suggestions

This weekend I splurged (we are in vrey dire financial position right now, catching up from months of unemployment and a move and my boyfriend is still unemployed) and purchased two bottles of whiskey. I got two because I *knew* my BF would have a hard time staying away from the bottle, and I had a full bottle's worth of magical uses for myself. He came to the store with me, looked at me quizically when I asked for the two bottles, and so I explained, one was for "us" and one was for "works". He is magically educated (a Thelemite with knowledge of other disciplines)and knew what I meant. We took a stroll and enjoyed "our" bottle. Afterwards I put the bottle for works on my altar table. That night, in front of him, I made a small bottle of devil's shoe string head rub from cat's book for assisting him with getting a job;using only about two ounces and explaining what I was doing. I didn't bother explaining the rest of my plans for the whiskey, which included cleansing lodestones, making a money rub, an offering, and cleansing several altar items that needed it. I put the bottle back on the altar.

Yesterday when I came home from work the bottle was still on my altar, but it was mostly empty- only about two ounces left.

I knew he had drank from it, and later in the evening asked if he did. His response was... weird. "Yeah. I saw some was gone from it already, so....I'm sorry"...

Our relationship is currently in a tumultuous state and has been for some time. I didn't bother saying anything more, it was obvious he knew why I asked, and almost anything these days triggers serious fit throwing- screaming and stomping about- from him. But it REALLY got to me. It isn't the first time he's not respected my magical tools and supplies. (in a drunken rage he once swept all 7 of my oil lamps from their shelf to the floor, in another while traveling threw a bag with my St. Martha statue and other items across the car, scattering the bag and chipping the statue).

I am working to either end the relationship amicably (there are complications to doing this quickly and easily) or address the issues causing the problems (my preference but after many months of trying not looking too hopeful); but in the meantime I really feel he is sabotaging my work to improve our situation, whether it's purposeful or not I can't say.

What can I do to keep his hands (and mind) off my hoodoo and respect my work? My resources are limited but I do have devil's oil, banishing oil, FWP, Van Van, Crown of success, and Master key, and the baths and sachets of some of those.

Hi all,

I would like to start the 13 day 13 herb baths. I want to know 2 questions:

1) Can I bath at night, save a portion of bath water, and dump it at a crossroads the next morning before dawn? Technically the bath is at night, which is before dawn (I have no time to do this ritual and get ready for work, so can I bath around 8pm on, let's say a Thursday night, and dump the water on Friday morning before dawn?)

2)What day would be best for me to start the baths (Sunday, Monday, etc.?

1. I think you should be fine with dumping the water before dawn the next morning. To my recollection, I think you are doing it the right way as long as you dump the water before the next morning.

Generally speaking you'll hear the sunrise timing for all spiritual bathing.

However, there are other traditional forms of timing. One of them is working by sunrise for drawing works or works of increase, and by the sunset for banishing works or works of decrease. By that system of timing, sunset would be an ideal time to do your Uncrossing baths, throwing the water into the crossroads towards the West and the setting sun when you dispose of it.

Also, I just noticed you posted this same question in the Spiritual Bathing thread. Please do not double-post, as it is against the forum Terms of Service and makes extra work for us mods who have to wrangle your posts and bundle them together into the right places.

He is sabbotaging you efferts to improve your situation. He knows that once things improve, you will leave or make him leave.

In the past I have found that the easiest way to get rid of an unwanted guy is to pass him off to another girl. I'd work attrack a new love magic on his behalf.

First, get some oil any skin-safe oil would work. Make the oil into a representation of yourself. You can do this away that 'feels' right to you, could be as simple as writting your name on a peice of paper and putting it in the oil. For this purpose I would use cottonseed oil and add some wax from my beehive. Whatever you add to the oil MAKE SURE nothing will dissolve in water. Next make 'HIM water'. Could be as easy as putting his name on a paper and putting it in the water. Make sure that nothing that you add to the water will dissolve in oil. Mix the oil and water in one bottle. You should shake the oil and water (this WILL cause discord at home). And watch as the oil and water seperate, chant "As oil and water seperate so will _____ and _______. _______ and ________ shall seperate like oil and water." As you are doing this look for signs that he is becoming emotionally distant. Continue this daily until you have a total emotional seperation. When you are seperated, heat the oil to drive off all the water. Use VERY VERY low heat and a shallow pan. This may take a several days. As you are doing this look for signs of physical departure. (Spending less time at home, staying out late etc.) When the water is gone, guard the remaining oil well because it is a powerful presentation of yourself. I would probably use it as part of a ceremony to attract a new love.

While you are doing the above, daily work on something to attact a new love to him. I would probably dress a large white candle with the water I made to represent him and one with the above oil to represent me. I would carve EVE (to represent generic woman) into a small pink candle (you could even use a birthday candle for this candle). Dress it with generic altar oil, nothing personal to yourself. Start with his candle next to yours and the pink one on opposite ends of the table. Each day light a new pink candle use the same white candle for him and you. Move him away from you and closer to the pink candle daily. When you are 'finished', melt his white candle and your last pink candle into a container (I sometimes use an oyster shell or an empty egg shell). Dispose of it anyway you like, at a crossroad would be good. I would personally take it to the river, make an offering (I toss in flower and a handfull of dog food) and invoke the river to carry away my problem. You could also bury it in a graveyard.

Man, I haven't been on here in ages! It's good to be back.
Anyway, to the point:
In the past year I've had my fair share of hardships (difficult moves, romance, work, anxiety, you name it), and I'm looking to turn my life around. Only problem is, I'm not sure what's the best path for me to take.
I don't know if I should be looking to change my luck, bring love or friendship into my life, etc.
About a year ago, I was very involved in a lot of stuff, magickally speaking. I was trying to draw love into my life, get back at a certain enemy, deal with family problems....Yes, it was a lot. Being the newbie to Hoodoo that I was, I was pretty much unconcerned about the "backlash" (if there is such a thing), and I just went about my business. Then, all of a sudden it seemed, I started having all these problems happening at the same time, and after a while I kinda thought "Hey, I wonder if.......?". You get the gist.
Now it's a new year, and although my health is improving and I'm adjusting to the new home, I'm still very unsure about my situation in life and I definitely feel like I want to turn my life around in some way.
I know this is all very vague and probably not very helpful. Sorry.

Any ideas?

I guess the gist of my post is that I know I want "something" to change, but I'm not sure what it is. Does that make sense?
I don't know if I want to pursue love, friendship, more money, a better job, better health. This last year was a really tough one, and part of me almost wonders if it was a sort of bad-luck "blowback" for trying to negatively work one of my old coworkers and family members.

DaisyChain: I have done negative spells/work on people and have not suffered or noticed any kind of "karma," "blowback," or "retribution." You had a tough year, I believe you, however doing the work you did would not cause a magical "blowback." Perhaps the person you were working on was doing their own work and that effected you.

I say take aura's advice. I like the Road Opener suggestion, however the King Solomon Wisdom Spellkit seems like it is much more up your alley at this time. Do the King Solomon Spellkit, gain some clarity and wisdom on what it is you want to go for, and then do the Road Opener. That should be a pretty powerful one-two punch!

It's great to see you back on here and please keep us updated on your current situation.

Requesting guidance in overwhelming change~

I am experiencing change at every aspect of my life. My job of 11 years ended in December (glad I was fired as I hated it, but I am now collecting unemployment. I have returned to volunteer, working in my old art form (acting-theatre). My love partner of 25 years has fallen in love with someone else, both of my parents are beginning to have age-related declines, and my friends are changing.

I am priestess to a community of women, an eclectic urban witch, a tarot reader and dreamer. Spirit's call is loud; I dream of teaching how people can access the Underworld (and I lead them there in the Dreamtime) as well as traveling in outer space realms and leading ritual in the Dreamtime. You have received excellent advice from both Joseph and Aura-I would only add a few things-as you are working with clarity & wisdom products try making a list of all the things you feel like you need to work on and then determine which ones have top priority. Are there certain things on that list that you know you do not do very well? If so, ask a professional to help you out-you might even want to seek out divination on this.
Also, in times of trouble I find laying your burdens at the feet of Jesus or the Holy Family to be very helpful!

You've got a full plate there! While transition can be uncomfortable, working with King Solomon Wisdom and Tranquility products may be able to help you find some calm and relief amidst the storm: http://www.luckymojo.com/kingsolomonwisdom.html; http://www.luckymojo.com/products-tranquility.html. That calm is particularly important given that you're already leading a community and will no doubt continue to do so.

On the love front, if you're unsure as to wether or not you should be doing work to attract a mate, do a reading or have one done by a reputable worker (AIRR workers are an excellent resource: http://readersandrootworkers.org/wiki/A ... ootworkers). It may simply be time to change the type of mate that you're looking for through your spellwork rather than giving up the spellwork itself (on this front that is).

Ultimately however, make sure that you take the time to take care of yourself. You have many exterior concerns between your job, parents, friends and love life and it can get kind of difficult to take the moments necessary to cherish yourself. A series of 9-herb spiritual baths throughout the waxing moon could be a good way to do that. Another method would be to design and brew yourself an ''Actuali-Tea'' to bring in the qualities and concerns you want in your life. A possible recipe would be the following:

Okay. I understand. So I wiil bathe at sunrise, and I made the tea last night, (Sunday) and planned on waking up Monday to do the ritual bath. However, I woke up sick and decided to do the bath tomorrow morning. Can I still use the tea I brewed Sunday night for Tuesday morning? (It's been in my refrigerator untouched since I brewed it). Or should I throw it out and brew a new batch?

Hello,

I'm sorry if I've accidentally put this in the wrong place or if my question has been answered somewhere else. I did try to find information elsewhere on the board and couldn't find any.

I recently worked with an AIRR practitioner to help a spirit that was attached to me and holding me back to rest in peace, and did the 13 day bath to remove a curse. Now my life has opened up to me after over 10 years of being held back, and I honestly don't know where to start with rebuilding it.

I need clarity and direction, as well as wisdom to know where I need to go in this life to fulfill my life's purpose.

I was considering Clarity products, along with ones to increase psychic vision and magick ability.

Where should I begin? I'm writing this in the Incense forum because I think that incense would be a good place to begin, though if you have other suggestions I'd love to hear them.

I'm not new to spell work, however am new to hoodoo. Please tell me if there are good products or what you think I should get and use to help me in my situation. I just need to get from "here" to "there", and the trick is knowing where "there" is.

Clarity products would be a good choice for mental clarity, hence their name.

You may also consider King Solomon Wisdom products for "wise decision-making", just like the great Jewish king. Psychic Vision is the go-to for increasing psychic aptitude and is nicely complimented by Master Key products for mastery, particularly occult mastery. If you wanted to include a resin, or burn one separately, I'd suggest Dragon's Blood resin.

Thank you both! I feel that roads are open to me and will go with the road opener products, however I feel that I need to know where I need to know my goals before I start down the road. Or, perhaps the road just needs to be opened and the appropriate opportunities will present themselves?

I'm going to go with some Clarity products and see where I even need to start with other products! Maybe I overthink this stuff!

Hello everyone,

These questions/ situation may have been posed before, and forgive me if it has, but I just need some guidance on which products to use to help me go to the next level in my life.

I feel like I am currently in a stage where I am starting to come into my "own"...meaning that I am "trying" to be more confident, more polished, more worldly, etc. But it is such a difficult process. I have had so many obstacles/challenges to overcome in my life. There has also been a lot of heartbreak, pain, etc. that I have had to deal with.

Right now, I am currently in school pursuing a second career and this has been particularly challenging as well. Also, I had extremely bad luck in my love life and a few financial challenges.

I don't think I am hexed or anything like that but I just want to move to the next level and be all that I know I can be. I know it may sound funny, but I just want to be the woman with it all. Smart, beautiful, financially free, and have a man who truly loves me.

I understand that I have to continue working hard on my part to achieve all these things, but what products can I use magically to give me boost to help me get to the next level?

By the way, people look at me already and think I already have it all together because I am good at faking it, but I feel like things are in shambles most times and I am just playing a part and holding it all together by a thread.

Also specifically, what are the absolute best products in addition to my studying to help me pass my difficult exams? I have used the crown of success oil and it has been somewhat effective, but my studies are becoming even more difficult as I advance.

Would the kit be more effective, or should I call and have vigil lights set?

1. I think you need to get a reading regarding how can you be more worldly, and get ahead in life. You may not be hexed however a reading may provide you with a better insight into how to get ahead in life.

Yes, do post prayers up there! I just finished praying for the latest posters today. I work with several colors of crystal ball, and I always include yellow -- I use it for wisdom, and to attract new mentors -- and purple, for mastery and success. So lil miss_sunshine, get that prayer up there and let me at it!
